Description
- The disclosure relates to pocketed accessory garments and more particularly pertains to a new pocketed accessory garment for storing a cell phone outside of one's clothing.
- The prior art relates to pocketed accessory garments that are worn on the waist and/or hips of a user for storing articles, including cell phones. Many such devices wrap around the waist and tie or buckle to stay on the user. Also similar in concept to the present device are phone belt clips which clip onto a belt and contain a means of clamping or otherwise holding onto a cell phone. However, the prior art does not disclose a pocket with belt loops for a user to insert their belt through such that the pocket can hang onto the belt already being worn by the user.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a backing panel with a belt loop strip that is coupled to the backing panel. The belt loop strip and the backing panel cooperatively define a belt loop configured for receiving a belt therethrough such that the belt loop strip hangs onto the belt. A pocket panel is also attached to the backing panel. The pocket panel and the backing panel cooperatively define a pocket with an opening on one end.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a top front side perspective view of a belt-secured pocket device according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a back view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new pocketed accessory garment embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the belt-securedpocket device 10 generally comprises abacking panel 12 with atop end 14 and abottom end 16. Thebacking panel 12 has a pair oflateral sides 18 extending between thetop end 14 and thebottom end 16. Thebacking panel 12 also has afront surface 20 and aback surface 22, each of which extends between thetop end 14 and thebottom end 16 and between the pair oflateral sides 18 of thebacking panel 12. Thebacking panel 12 folds at thetop end 14 to define amain backing portion 24 and abacking hem 26, wherein the backing hem 26 abuts theback surface 22 of saidbacking panel 12 and has adistal end 28 relative to thetop end 14 of thebacking panel 12. A pair of backing hemthreads 30 is interwoven with thebacking hem 26 and themain backing portion 24, thereby securing thebacking hem 26 to themain backing portion 24. Each backing hemthread 30 is parallel to thetop end 14 of thebacking panel 12. A top backing hemthread 32 of the pair ofbacking hem threads 30 is positioned proximate thetop end 14 of thebacking panel 12, and a bottom backing hemthread 34 of the pair of backing hemthreads 30 is positioned proximate thedistal end 28 of thebacking hem 26. - Each of a pair of
belt loop strips 36 has a pair of ends coupled to the front surface of thebacking panel 12. One end of the pair of ends of eachbelt loop strip 36 is coupled proximate to thetop end 14 of thebacking panel 12, and eachbelt loop strip 36 extends from thetop end 14 of thebacking panel 12 toward thebottom end 16 of thebacking panel 12. Eachbelt loop strip 36 cooperates with thebacking panel 12 to define an associatedbelt loop 38 of a pair ofbelt loops 38. Eachbelt loop 38 is configured for receiving abelt 40 therethrough, and eachbelt loop strip 36 is configured for hanging on thebelt 40 when thebelt 40 is received through the associatedbelt loop 38. Each of a plurality of belt loop hemthreads 42 is interwoven with an associatedbelt loop strip 36 and thebacking panel 12 proximate an associated end of an associatedbelt loop strip 36, thereby coupling the associated end to thebacking panel 12. Each belt loop hemthread 42 is parallel to thetop end 14 of thebacking panel 12. - A
pocket panel 44 has afirst end 46, asecond end 48, and a pair oflateral sides 50 extending between thefirst end 46 and thesecond end 48. Thepocket panel 44 is stitched to thefront surface 20 of thebacking panel 12 along eachlateral side 50 of thepocket panel 44 and along thesecond end 48 of the panel. Thepocket panel 44 and thebacking panel 12 cooperatively define a pocket, and thefirst end 46 of thepocket panel 44 and thebacking panel 12 cooperatively define anopening 54 to the pocket. The pocket has an interior shape and depth wherein the pocket is configured for holding acell phone 56. Thefirst end 46 of thepocket panel 44 faces thetop end 14 of thebacking panel 12. Thesecond end 48 of thepocket panel 44 comprises a pair ofsecond end portions 58, each of which extends away from an associatedlateral side 50 of thepocket panel 44 and away from thefirst end 46 of thepocket panel 44. - The
pocket panel 44 folds at thefirst end 46 of thepocket panel 44 to define amain pocket portion 60 and apocket hem 62, thepocket hem 62 being positioned between themain pocket portion 60 and thebacking panel 12. Thepocket hem 62 also has adistal end 64 relative to thefirst end 46 of thebacking panel 12. A pair ofpocket hem threads 66 is interwoven with thepocket hem 62 and themain pocket portion 60, thereby securing thepocket hem 62 to themain pocket portion 60. Each pocket hemthread 66 is parallel to thefirst end 46 of thepocket panel 44. A toppocket hem threads 68 of the pair ofpocket hem threads 66 is positioned proximate thefirst end 46 of thepocket panel 44, and a bottompocket hem threads 70 of the pair ofpocket hem threads 66 is positioned proximate thedistal end 62 of thepocket hem 62. - In use, a
belt 40 is fed through eachbelt loop 38 and worn by auser 72. Thebacking panel 12 then hangs from thebelt 40 while being worn by theuser 72. The pocket is thusly made available for use on thebacking panel 12, providing a pocket that hangs freely outside of the user's 72 clothing so it will not be bound about the leg of theuser 72 which can uncomfortably press thecell phone 56 into the user's 72 leg. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
