Abstract

A styling device for facial hairs including the beard and mustache that can aid in shaving and styling the facial hairs. The styling device includes an upper lip portion configured to overlie an upper lip of a user; a chin portion configured to overlie a chin of the user; and a mouthpiece that protrudes from a rear side of the styling device and is configured to be grabbed between an upper jaw and a lower jaw of the user. The styling device can be manufactured in a range of styles for distinctive styles of the beard.

    CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application claims priority from a U.S. Provisional Patent Appl. No. 63/222,717 filed on Jul. 16, 2021, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
  • FIELD OF INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a styling device for hairs, and more particularly the present invention relates to a device to aid in shaving and styling the beard and mustaches.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Styling of beard is quite common in many young, adults, and old men. Beard style adds to a style quotient and personality of a person. Moreover, maintaining a beard is in trend and more people are preferring to keep the beard.
  • Styling the beard requires a skilled hand and even a skilled person may not do a perfect job all the time. Also, styling the beard by oneself can be difficult. Any mistake may lead to nonuniform shave lines, or the person has to change the style to adapt to the mistake.
  • Shaving and styling aids are known in the art, however, the known shaving and styling aids have several drawbacks including being bulky, expensive, and difficult to use.
  • A need is therefore appreciated for a styling device that overcomes the drawbacks of the known shaving and styling aids.
  • The phrase facial hairs refer to both beard and mustache.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The following presents a simplified summary of one or more embodiments of the present invention to provide a basic understanding of such embodiments. This summary is not an extensive overview of all contemplated embodiments and is intended to neither identify critical elements of all embodiments nor delineate the scope of any or all embodiments. Its sole purpose is to present some concepts of one or more embodiments in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.
  • The principal object of the present invention is therefore directed to a styling device for facial hairs that is simple to use.
  • It is another object of the present invention that the device saves the shaving time.
  • It is still another object of the present invention that the device can be produced in a range of styles.
  • It is a further object of the present invention that the device is easier and quicker in use.
  • It is yet another object of the present invention that the device is economical to manufacture.
  • It is a further object of the present invention that the device provides a clean shave line.
  • It is still a further object of the present invention that the device is light in weight.
  • It is an additional object of the present invention that the device can be used hand-free.
  • It is still an additional object of the present invention that the device does not obstruct the view of the beard while shaving from any angle.
  • In one aspect, disclosed is a styling device for facial hairs, the styling device includes an upper lip portion configured to overlie an upper lip of a user, a chin portion configured to overlie a chin of the user, and a mouthpiece that protrudes from a rear side of the styling device and is configured to be grabbed between an upper jaw and a lower jaw of the user. The upper lip portion, the chin portion, and the mouthpiece are integral to form a single unit. The device is transparent. The device has colored edges, the color is in contrast with the facial hairs.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Subject matter will now be described more fully hereinafter. Subject matter may, however, be embodied in a variety of different forms and, therefore, covered or claimed subject matter is intended to be construed as not being limited to any exemplary embodiments set forth herein; exemplary embodiments are provided merely to be illustrative. Likewise, a reasonably broad scope for claimed or covered subject matter is intended. Among other things, for example, the subject matter may be embodied as apparatus and methods of use thereof. The following detailed description is, therefore, not intended to be taken in a limiting sense.
  • The word “exemplary” is used herein to mean “serving as an example, instance, or illustration.” Any embodiment described herein as “exemplary” is not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over other embodiments.   • The following detailed description includes the best currently contemplated mode or modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention.   • The following detailed description is described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, specific details may be set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the subject innovation. It may be evident, however, that the claimed subject matter may be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and apparatus are shown in block diagram form in order to facilitate describing the subject innovation. Moreover, the drawings may not be to scale.
  • Disclosed is a styling aid for facial hairs that allows a person to easily shave the facial hairs to achieve the desired style. The disclosed device can be manufactured in a range of styles and thus a user has a range of styles to choose from. For example, hundred plus different styles and shapes can be provided by the device to shave mustaches, goatees, and beards. Being economical to manufacture, the disclosed device can be made disposable i.e., for single use. Alternatively, the device can be easily washed for reuse. The device can also be dishwasher safe making it more convenient to clean. The disclosed device can be made integral forming a single unit that can be easily and quickly made. The device can be transparent so that a user can, after applying the device to the face, try different styles and choose the desired style that may look better than others. The disclosed device being flexible can easily adapt to the contours of a face for a perfect fit. The device can be thin so that the device may lay close to the skin and the shaving device can get right up to the edge for that perfect shave every time.
  • Referring to FIG. 1 which is a perspective view of the disclosed device 100. The device 100 can include an upper lip portion 110, a mouthpiece 120, and a chin portion 130. The chin portion 130 is configured to overlie a chin of a user i.e., over the beard. The upper lip portion of the device is configured to overlie the upper lip i.e., the mustache of the user. The mouthpiece can protrude from the rear of the device and can be configured such that the mouthpiece can be clamped between an upper jaw and a lower jaw. The clamping of the mouthpiece between the jaws can keep the device stable and tight over the face without the need to hold the device by hand. The device can be made from cut-resistant material that can withstand the blades of the shaving device. The device can be manufactured in different styles. The mouthpiece, the upper lip portion, and the chin portion can be made integral as a single unit. In one implementation, the device can be prepared by a molding process in one step. Thus, the manufacturing cost of the device can be significantly lowered. The device can be manufactured as disposable for single use. The device can be manufactured for reuse wherein the device can be washed. In one implementation, the device can also be sterilized, such as using steam sterilization. Although the device can be made transparent, the edges can have a lining of contrasting colors for easy shaving. The shave line can be easily visible using the contrasted color periphery.
  • In one implementation, the inner surface of the device can have ridges to enhance the grip on the face. The ridges in the upper lip portion, the chin portion, and the mouthpiece can be different. For example, the ridges in the mouthpiece can be adapted for grip between the teeth.
  • Referring to FIG. 2 which shows an exemplary embodiment of the present invention that has guidelines. The styling device 200 includes an upper lip portion 210 to cover an upper lip portion of the user. The styling device 200 further includes a chin portion 220 to cover the chin of the user. A protrusion 230 extends from the rear side of the styling device that can be grabbed between the jaws of the user for holding the device against the face of the user. The disclosed device can be sold in the form of a big mask as shown in FIG. 2 that can have guidelines 240 along which the styling device can be cut to get the desired shape of the styling device and thus that of the beard. Different guidelines can be provided for obtaining different designs from the same styling device. In one implementation, the user can cut the styling device along the desired guideline using scissors to obtain the desired style of the beard.
  • While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is considered presently to be the best mode thereof, those of ordinary skill will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should therefore not be limited by the above-described embodiment, method, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention as claimed.

Claims (8)

What is claimed is:
1. A styling device for facial hairs, the styling device comprises:
an upper lip portion configured to overlie an upper lip of a user;
a chin portion configured to overlie a chin of the user; and
a mouthpiece that protrudes from a rear side of the styling device and is configured to be grabbed between an upper jaw and a lower jaw of the user.
2. The styling device according to claim 1, wherein the upper lip portion, the chin portion, and the mouthpiece are integral to form a single unit.
3. The styling device according to claim 1, wherein the styling device is transparent.
4. The styling device according to claim 3, wherein the styling device has colored edges, a color of the colored edges is in contrast with the facial hairs.
5. A method for styling facial hairs, the method comprising:
providing a styling device comprising:
an upper lip portion configured to overlie an upper lip of a user,
a chin portion configured to overlie a chin of the user, and
a mouthpiece that protrudes from a rear side of the styling device and is configured to be grabbed between an upper jaw and a lower jaw of the user.
6. The method according to claim 5, wherein the upper lip portion, the chin portion, and the mouthpiece are integral to form a single unit.
7. The method according to claim 5, wherein the styling device is transparent.
8. The method according to claim 7, wherein the styling device has colored edges, a color of the colored edges is in contrast with the facial hairs.
