  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the present invention.
  • Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a beauty container for eyelashes that comprises left and right opposing hinged doors with magnetic clasps or closures. The container is durable and provides doors capable of being opened and closed multiple times, which securely remain magnetically closed.
  • The container of the present invention solves the problems associated with previous carrying cases for false eyelashes and overcomes the many drawbacks of the previously available solutions. The container of the present invention significantly reduces the likelihood of contamination of the lashes contained therein by keeping each lash set in the container under all conditions.
  • The container of the present invention distinguishes over and differs from prior containers. Conventional previous containers include a very thin thermoformed tray and a cardboard sleeve which becomes easily damaged and deformed by normal use. Despite careful handling by users, most users still permanently deform previously available cases with cardboard sleeves to the point that those containers may no longer be used as a protective housing for the lash set it was purchased. Further, once the cardboard sleeve tears, then the lashes are exposed to the greater environment.
  • The present invention provides an unprecedented, durable, long-lasting container for holding false eyelashes. The lash box of the present invention comprises a pair of hood-shaped right and left doors and right and left door closures. The door closures include a set of neodymium magnets on each lid to latch the hood closed during storage securely.
  • The present invention further distinguishes from currently available lash containers by including neodymium magnets to secure a dual lid system to a main greyboard body.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1-6, incorporated herein by reference in their entirety, an exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a lash box container 10. The lash box container 10 may comprise one or more of the following elements or components and combinations thereof.
  • 1. Lash box main body 12.
    2. Lash box left hinge door 16 (left side of FIG. 1).
    3. Lash box right hinge door 16 (right side of FIG. 1).
    4. Lash box left hinge door inner closure magnet 18 (left side of FIG. 2).
    5. Lash box right door hinge inner closure magnet 18 (right side of FIG. 2)
    6. Thermoformed plastic tray 14.
  • The separate components are best seen in FIG. 3. In an exemplary embodiment, the elements or components interrelate in the following manner. The components may be assembled and adhered within about 4 to 5 steps.
  • The components and elements of the present invention may be made of any suitable material by any suitable process. The components may be assembled and adhered together by any suitable adhesive.
  • In an exemplary embodiment, the box 10 may function in the following manner. The neodymium magnet 18 has a magnetic attraction to a metal strip plate 24 embedded in the main lash box body 12. Both the magnets 18 and the metal strip plates 24 may be hidden behind an outermost layer of material 22, as shown in FIG. 6. When the magnet 18 crosses an angular threshold of about 30 degrees (the angle of the magnet 18 relative to the flat bottom of the body 12), the magnetic forces overtake the hinge frictional forces to help pull the door hinge shut to close the hinge doors 16.
  • In an exemplary embodiment, the lash box 10 may be made by a process including one or more of the following steps and combinations thereof. The components may be made of any suitable material, such as, for example, without limitation, cardboard, chipboard, greyboard, or the like. In some embodiments, the box components may be made by effectively cutting cardboard or other suitable container material in such a way that would allow it to mimic the hinged doors. The hinge may be an integral hinge formed into the container material in some embodiments. In some embodiments, a separate hinge may be provided. Other components include the closure comprising magnets 18 and metal panels 24 and any suitable adhesive for adhering portions of the box together. As best seen in FIGS. 4 and 5, the left and right hinged doors 16 are then quickly closed. The user would be able to use the case 10 as intended, without any concern of damaging the lash box container 10 and its durable components. Further, the lash box container 10 may be placed in a retail box for shipping and storage.
  • This system of the present invention allows for a secure and uncontaminated solution to store lashes 20 and other cosmetics products. It provides a discreet, interchangeable, and guarded container to ensure the longevity of both its contents and the system itself.
  • In alternative embodiments, certain components may be modified to allow the hinge doors to open horizontally or vertically. In certain alternative embodiments, an interchangeable antimicrobial thermoform tray that can store adhesive products within the tray or as a drawer to the case may be provided. Additionally, trays with magnetic strips to house magnetic lash systems may also be provided. The present invention may also be extended to house other interchangeable cosmetic products (e.g., blush, bronzer, shadow, and/or lip products.)
  • The present invention can be used for housing other medications, ophthalmology solutions (e.g., contact lens), mechanical/engineering storage solutions, and potentially incorporate a locking mechanism to keep children out of small hazardous items.
  • In certain embodiments, the present invention may include short-range wireless communication technology, such as BLUETOOTH™, enabled to provide access to specific items that are hazardous or require to be kept out of the elements or human eye. (e.g., a spare key lockbox) or interchangeable kits that can be customized.
  • In summary, the present invention provides a beauty container 10 for false eyelashes 20. The lash box container features 10 opposing pivotally mounted, hinged doors with magnetic clasps capable of securely closing the doors so that the box remains closed until the user wishes to open it.
