Abstract

A system and method of and for removably securing a cloth or towel to a magnetically cohesive surface using a permanent magnet attached to and/or integrated into the cloth or towel. Preferably, the magnet is a disc magnet encased in a plastic or silicone rubber housing integrated or affixed into or upon a cloth or towel. A magnetic golf towel comprising a moisture absorbent material; and a magnet, wherein the magnet is connected to the moisture absorbent material, and wherein the magnet is configured to be attached to a golf club, so that the magnetic golf towel can be picked up via the golf club. A method for picking up a magnetic golf towel comprising providing the magnetic golf towel and using a golf club to magnetically attach to the magnet of the golf towel, thereby allowing a user to pick up the magnetic golf towel.

Description

    CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • The present invention is a Track-One Application and claims the benefit of priority of U.S. Design patent Ser. No. 29/768,943 entitled “MAGENTIC GOLF TOWEL” filed Feb. 2, 2021 and U.S. provisional No. 63/160,156 entitled “CLOTH SECURING SYSTEM AND METHOD” filed Mar. 12, 2021. The content of both applications are incorporation by reference in their entirety.
  • FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a magnetic golf towel and method of using a magnetic golf towel.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • During the game of golf, it is often required to clean a golf club before or after use of the club. Golf towels made of microfibers are known in the art, however, these towels can be misplaced and are often left on the course after use, as the golfer has to remember to grab the towel off the ground after cleaning the club before or after using the club.
  • Furthermore, existing towels require the golfer to lean over to pick up the towel off the ground, thus, making it more difficult to pick up the towel after each use, especially when the golfer is of an advanced age.
  • Accordingly, there is a need in the art for an improve golf towel that is easy to use and that provide an improvement in the art over existing golf towels.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An object of the invention is to provide a magnetic golf towel.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a magnetic golf towel that is able to be picked up by a golfer by using a golf club.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a magnetic golf towel comprising: a moisture absorbent material; and a magnet, wherein the magnet is connected to the moisture absorbent material, and wherein the magnet is configured to be attached to a golf club, so that the magnetic golf towel can be picked up via the golf club.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a magnetic golf towel wherein the magnet is encased within a housing, the housing being integrated into the moisture absorbent material.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a magnetic golf towel wherein the housing is sewn into the towel.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a magnetic golf towel wherein the housing is air and water resistant and/or air and waterproof.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a magnetic golf towel wherein the housing comprises a plastic or a silicone rubber.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a magnetic golf towel wherein the housing is integrated within the towel.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a magnetic golf towel wherein the towel is rectangular or square.

  • It is contemplated in an embodiment of the invention that the magnet being encased in a housing greatly slows and/or prevents the physical and electromagnetic deterioration of the magnet from air, water, chemicals, and the like during cloth or towel use, storage after use, and laundering.
  • It is contemplated in an embodiment of the invention that the magnet being encased in a housing greatly facilitates the integration of the magnet securely into or onto a cloth or towel.
  • It is contemplated in an embodiment of the invention that the magnet being encased in a housing greatly facilitates the permanent integration of the magnet securely into or onto a cloth or towel wherein a plurality of apertures (holes) may be provided through the housing to facilitate the attachment of the housing to a cloth or towel via stitching using thread and needle either by hand, semi-mechanically, or fully and autonomously by mechanical and/or robotic means.
  • It is contemplated in an embodiment of the invention that the magnet being encased in a housing greatly facilitates the removable integration of the magnet into a cloth or towel via a pocket in or tag attached to a cloth or towel.
  • It is contemplated in an embodiment of the invention that the magnet being encased in a housing greatly facilitates the laundering of a cloth or towel by cohering to the inner drum of a washer and/or dryer thus preventing “knock about tumbling” within a drum or cylinder.
  • It is contemplated in an embodiment of the invention that the magnet being encased in a housing greatly facilitates the removable integration of the magnet into a cloth or towel wherein the housing may be removed prior to and during laundering of a cloth or towel and replaced for use.
  • It is contemplated in an embodiment of the invention that the magnet being encased in a housing greatly facilitates the removable integration of magnets of differing magnetic flux densities and of differing physical dimensions commensurate with the weight and size requirements of a cloth or towel.
  • It is contemplated in an embodiment of the invention that two magnets each encased in a separate housing may be configured to sandwich a cloth or towel between the two housings via the cooperative or cohesive magnetic flux density fields of the two magnets; wherein the two housing two magnet configuration greatly facilitates the integration of the magnet securely and removably into or onto a cloth or towel while improving the overall magnetic flux density of the housing combination to removably secure a cloth or towel to a surface.
  • It is contemplated in an embodiment of the invention that two magnets each encased in a separate housing may be configured to sandwich a cloth or towel between the two housings via the cooperative or cohesive magnetic flux density fields of the two magnets; wherein the two housing two magnet configuration greatly facilitates removal of the two housings from a cloth or towel to facilitate laundering of the cloth or towel and the like.

It should be understood that the detailed description and specific examples, while indicating the preferred embodiment of the invention, are intended for purposes of illustration only and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • As depicted in Prior Art FIG. 1A-FIG. 1D, various configurations of permanent magnets exhibit differing magnetic flux density fields (100).
  • As depicted in FIG. 2, a bar or rod magnet (200) placed against a magnetically cohesive surface (210) produces a magnetic flux density field (100) much different than that a disc magnet (300) against a magnetically cohesive surface (210) as depicted in FIG. 3.
  • As can be appreciated comparing the two magnetic fields; a disc magnet (300) produces a magnetic flux density field (100) of a superior density and surface area as compared to a bar or rod magnet (200).
  • Although a bar or rod magnet (200) depending on its inherent magnetic flux field density may be adequate to magnetically support the weight of a cloth or towel; a disc magnet (300) is preferred for embodiments of this instant invention (400).
  • As depicted in FIG. 4, in a preferred embodiment of the instant invention (400), a disc magnet (300) is encased or enclosed in a plastic or silicone rubber housing (410) wherein the plastic or silicone rubber housing protects the disc magnet (300) from physical and electromagnetic deterioration.
  • As depicted in FIG. 4A-FIG. 4D, in an embodiment of the instant invention (400), a plastic or silicone rubber housing (410) may include apertures (Not Shown) for facilitating attaching or integration of the plastic or silicone rubber housing (410) to a cloth or towel (510); as depicted in FIG. 5, FIG. 6, and FIG. 7.
  • As depicted in FIG. 5, FIG. 6, and FIG. 7, in an embodiment of the instant invention (400) a plastic or silicone rubber housing (410) including a disc magnet (300) is located, affixed and/or integrated into a cloth or towel (510) wherein the plastic or silicone rubber housing protects the disc magnet (300) from physical and electromagnetic deterioration.
  • As depicted in FIG. 5, FIG. 6, and FIG. 7, in an embodiment of the instant invention (400) a plastic or silicone rubber housing (410) is configured and integrated into or affixed onto a cloth or towel (510) as to be easily seen by a cloth or towel user to mitigate or prevent the placement of the integrated disc magnet (300) in proximity to electromagnetic sensitive devices such as magnetic strips on credit, debit, or other type of magnetic storage device; and from electromagnetic field sensitive systems such as implanted pacemakers, defibrillators, and the like.
  • An intent and purpose of including a disc magnet (300) in a plastic or rubber silicone housing (410) is to allow a system (400) user to know at all times were the disc magnet (300) is; and thus, facilitate a system (400) user's safe and effective use of the cloth or towel (510).
  • It is contemplated that in instant invention may be used in many fields of endeavors, in daily life at home, used in athletics and sports, in industry, science, and medicine.
  • In household and commercial kitchens, the instant inventive system and method may be used to removably secure a cloth or towel to an oven door, or overhead ventilation hood, or refrigerator side or door; or at any suitable and desired magnetic cohesive surface.
  • A machinist may hang a “shop rag”, using the instant invention, nearby and at various heights and safely away from rotating equipment.
  • A mechanic may hang a “shop rag”, using the instant invention, removably from the open hood of an automobile, at the undercarriage of a vehicle, or at an aircraft open engine cowling—or again—at any suitable and desired magnetic cohesive surface.
  • It is contemplated that the instant invention may be used by golfer to keep a towel at hand—removably secured to a magnetic flux cohesive portion of a golf bag, and/or golf cart and the like. It is also contemplated that the instant inventive method and system may be used retrieve a towel or rag from the ground or other “remote” location using a golf club, a tennis racket, or other metallic portion of such a similar object.
  • Utilizing the inventive system and method, a golfer instead of using a golf club a crutch to bend over and retrieve a towel from the ground; a golfer may now use a golf club to stand erect and retrieve an inventive cloth or towel.
  • Similarly, it is contemplated that persons of limited mobility and having difficulty bending; may in like manner to a golfer, utilize the inventive system and method with an object similar to a golf club to retrieve an inventive cloth or towel. Moreover, persons with limited mobility may use the instant invention with walkers or wheelchairs, and the like.
  • It is also contemplated that the instant inventive system and method during personal hygiene such as during bathing, showering, at the bathroom water basin, and the like.
  • As may be appreciated, the instant inventive system and method may be used in an almost unlimited number of industrial, scientific, medical uses; as well as athletic, leisure and other endeavors.

Claims (17)

1. A magnetic golf towel comprising:
a moisture absorbent material; and
a disc shaped permanent magnet fully encased within an air and water impervious plastic, polymer, or silicone rubber housing,
wherein the housing is configured to be and is sown via thread onto the moisture absorbent material, and
wherein the housing via the magnet is configured to be removably and magnetically attracted and attached to a golf club, so that the magnetic golf towel can be retrieved to a hand of a user from the ground or other surface using the golf club.

7. The towel of claim 1, wherein the towel is rectangular or square.
8. The towel of claim 1, wherein the moisture absorbent material is made from microfibers.
9. The towel of claim 1, wherein the moisture absorbent material is made from cotton and/or polyester.
10. A method for retrieving a magnetic golf towel to a hand of a user from the ground or other surface, the method comprising the steps of:
providing the magnetic golf towel of claim 1; and
using a golf club to magnetically attract and attach to the magnet encased in the housing of the golf towel, thereby allowing a user to retrieve the magnetic golf towel to a hand of the user.
11. The method of claim 10, wherein a user is able to retrieve the magnetic golf towel from the ground without having to bend-over from a standing position.
