Abstract

Clothing with buttock lifting inserts includes an article of clothing having a tubular waistband, a front panel, a back panel and a pair of leg openings. A pair of pockets are disposed along an inside facing portion of the back panel and include a size that covers an entirety of a user's buttock. A pair of inserts having a shape and a size that approximate a shape and a size of a human buttock are removably positioned within the pair of pockets. The pockets functioning to position the pair of inserts against the wearer's buttocks so as to project outward therefrom in order to move in conformity with the movements of the users buttocks and present a natural look and feel.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates generally to clothing, and more particularly to clothing with inserts for lifting and accentuating the buttocks of the wearer.

BACKGROUND

The statements in this section merely provide background information related to the present disclosure and may not constitute prior art.
As people age, their skin becomes more elastic which causes certain body parts to begin to sag. For example, when buttocks begin to sag the individual loses the full, round appearance which detracts from their overall look. Additionally, as buttocks sag, the downward weight causes a ripple effect wherein cellulite on the thigs becomes accentuated, thus further detracting from the appearance of the individual.
For this reason, there are known elastic band-type products which can be worn about the waist of an individual. The bands function to impart a constant compression force onto the user's body which lifts the buttocks. Unfortunately, such devices are extremely uncomfortable, and many individuals experience stomach aches and other issues from prolonged use of these compression garments. Moreover, such devices do nothing to help individuals with small buttocks seeking to provide a fuller look, or individuals with body deformities.
Accordingly, it would be beneficial to provide buttock inserts for clothing which can function to both slightly lift, and accentuate the buttocks of a wearer, in order to provide a fuller appearance without the drawbacks described above.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is directed to clothing with buttock lifting inserts. One embodiment of the present invention can include an article of clothing having a tubular waistband, a front panel, a back panel and a pair of leg openings. A pair of pockets can be disposed along an inside facing portion of the back panel and can include a size that covers an entirety of a user's buttock. A pair of inserts can be removably positioned within the interior space of each of the pair of pockets, and each of the inserts can include a shape and a size that approximate a shape and a size of a human buttock.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the pockets position the pair of inserts against the wearer's buttocks and the insert projects outward therefrom. Each of the inserts can be constructed from a resilient material and can move in conformity with the movements of the users buttocks so as to present a natural look and feel.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

While the specification concludes with claims defining the features of the invention that are regarded as novel, it is believed that the invention will be better understood from a consideration of the description in conjunction with the drawings. As required, detailed embodiments of the present invention are disclosed herein; however, it is to be understood that the disclosed embodiments are merely exemplary of the invention which can be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific structural and functional details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but merely as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to variously employ the inventive arrangements in virtually any appropriately detailed structure. Further, the terms and phrases used herein are not intended to be limiting but rather to provide an understandable description of the invention.

Definitions

As described herein, the term “removably secured,” and derivatives thereof shall be used to describe a situation wherein two or more objects are joined together in a non-permanent manner so as to allow the same objects to be repeatedly joined and separated.
As described throughout this document, the term “complementary shape,” and “complementary dimension,” shall be used to describe a shape and size of a component that is identical to, or substantially identical to the shape and size of another identified component within a tolerance such as, for example, manufacturing tolerances, measurement tolerances or the like.
As described herein, the term “connector” and “connectors” are used interchangeably to include any number of different elements that work together to repeatedly join two items together in a nonpermanent manner. Several nonlimiting examples include opposing strips of hook and loop material (i.e. Velcro®), attractively oriented magnetic elements, flexible strips of interlocking projections with a slider (i.e., zipper), tethers, buckles, hooks, snaps and buttons, for example. Each illustrated connector can be permanently secured to the illustrated portion of the device via a permanent sealer such as glue, adhesive tape, or stitching, for example.
FIGS. 1-4 illustrate one embodiment of clothing with buttock lifting inserts 10 that are useful for understanding the inventive concepts disclosed herein. In each of the drawings, identical reference numerals are used for like elements of the invention or elements of like function. For the sake of clarity, only those reference numerals are shown in the individual figures which are necessary for the description of the respective figure. For purposes of this description, the terms “upper,” “bottom,” “right,” “left,” “front,” “vertical,” “horizontal,” and derivatives thereof shall relate to the invention as oriented in FIG. 1.
As shown in FIG. 1, one embodiment of the clothing 10 can comprise a trouser or pants-body 11 having a tubular body portion 12, two leg openings 13, a front panel 14, and a back panel 15 having two internally located pockets 20. In the preferred embodiment, each of the pockets can include a generally trapezoidal shape wherein the bottom ends have widths that are less than the widths of the top ends.
As described herein, the clothing 10 can include any type of clothing that is capable of being worn by a human user. Several nonlimiting examples include various types of pants, shorts, dresses, and the like, which can be sized to fit women, men and children of any size. The clothing may also be constructed from any number of different materials such as various cotton, wool fabrics, linen, polyester, and/or denim, for example, and will preferably be machine washable in nature. Of course, any number of other construction materials and/or articles of clothing are also contemplated.
As shown best at FIG. 2, each of the pockets 20 can be positioned within the back panel 15, and can include a closed bottom end 21, an open top end 22, a flat front facing surface 23, and a curved back facing surface 24. To this end, the middle section of the pocket can include a depth (e.g., distance between the front and back surfaces) that is greater than the depths of the top and bottom ends. Such a shape approximating the natural shape of a human buttock with full projection. As shown, a pair of connectors 25, such as strips of hook and loop material, for example, can be positioned along the top of the pockets to allow a user to selectively close the pocket openings with the below described inserts positioned therein.
As described herein, the pockets can be constructed from the same material or a different material as the clothing to which they are secured. In one embodiment, the pockets can be constructed separate from the clothing and can be stitched onto the inside portion of the rear panel. In another embodiment, the clothing can include multiple layers of material, and the pockets can be formed between two such layers, so as to be created as an integral component of the clothing at a time of initial manufacturer.
In either instance, each pocket will be positioned along the back panel so as to be located directly behind the buttock of a wearer and will also be sized so as to cover an entirety of the buttock. To this end, larger sized articles of clothing (e.g., L, XL, XXL) for use by large individuals will naturally include a back panel that is larger than smaller sized articles of clothing (e.g., M, S, XS) for use by smaller individuals. As such, the pocket size and resulting insert can be different based on the size of the clothing, so as to accommodate the differences in body sizes of the users.
FIG. 3 illustrates one embodiment of an insert 30 for use with the above noted clothing and pockets. As shown, each insert includes a shape and a size that complementary to the shape and size of a human buttock when viewing the same from behind a user. The inserts are configured to be positioned within the above noted pockets and to function as enhancements to the natural curves of the wearer's natural buttocks. As such, each insert 30 can include a main body member having a straight and flat bottom end 31, a curved top end 32, a generally flat-or slightly (e.g., 2-5 mm) concave front end 33, and a curved/convex back end 34.
In the preferred embodiment, the inserts 30 will be constructed from a resilient material such as silicone or nylon, for example, which is known to have a similar look and feel as human tissue. Of course, any number of other shapes and materials are contemplated for use herein that are capable of enhancing the projection of a human buttock in a manner that appears to be natural.
In either instance, the inserts 30 are designed to be positioned within the pockets 20 of the clothing 10, so as to not shift, slide or otherwise move in a manner dissimilar to the movement of a user's buttock while wearing the inventive clothing. To this end, the inserts 30 can include a shape and size that is complementary to the shape and size of the interior space of the pocket to which the insert is positioned.
FIG. 4 illustrates one embodiment of the clothing with buttock lifting inserts 10 in operation. As shown, the inventive clothing is designed to enhance the appearance of the wearers buttocks by providing visually enhanced projection (arrow a) and lift (arrow b). As such, when a user 5 dons the clothing, their buttock 5 a will be positioned within the back panel 15, so that the front ends of the pocket 23 and insert 33 are pressing against the entire buttock region.
When so positioned, the flat bottom ends of the pocket 21 and insert 31 will be located along the bottom portion of the wearer's buttocks 5 b, such that the flat bottom surface blends with the crease of the buttocks. By providing a flat bottom end, the pocket prevents lateral shifting of the insert, and the elongated flat bottom end of the insert provides wide structural support to carry the weight of the insert itself, thus preventing deformation of the same. As a result, the insert and pockets can provide outward projection (arrow a) of between approximately 3 and 10 inches, without experiencing any bending, shifting or wrinkling of the insert as the wearer walks, sits or stands normally. Such a feature is important to allow the inserts to appear to be the natural buttock of the wearer, as they will move and bend in conformity with the movements of the user's actual buttocks.
Although described above with regard to the use of two substantially identically shaped and sized inserts, other embodiments are also contemplated. For example, one embodiment of the invention contemplates different sized pockets and/or inserts along the left and right buttock. Such a feature being beneficial for assisting users with body deformities caused by birth defects or trauma, for example to have a “normal” appearing buttock area.
In various embodiments, multiple inserts can be provided for allowing an end user to stack multiple inserts within a single pocket area in order to further enhance and provide a unique look.
In yet another embodiment, the clothing can be manufactured so as to include one or more inserts that are permanently sealed within the pocket area. In such an instance, the inserts may be constructed from machine washable materials so as to impart the inventive concepts onto an article of clothing in a non-user-customizable manner.
As described herein, one or more elements of the clothing with buttock lifting pads 10 can be secured together utilizing any number of known attachment means such as, for example, seams, adhesives, seam tape and the like. Moreover, although the above embodiments have been described as including separate individual elements, the inventive concepts disclosed herein are not so limiting. To this end, one of skill in the art will recognize that one or more individually identified elements may be formed together as one or more continuous elements with the aforementioned components forming identifiable sections thereof.
As to a further description of the manner and use of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.

As used herein, the singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms “comprises” and/or “comprising,” when used in this specification, specify the presence of stated features, integers, steps, operations, elements, and/or components, but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, integers, steps, operations, elements, components, and/or groups thereof. Likewise, the terms “consisting” shall be used to describe only those components identified. In each instance where a device comprises certain elements, it will inherently consist of each of those identified elements as well.

The embodiment was chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the invention and the practical application, and to enable others of ordinary skill in the art to understand the invention for various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.

Claims

1. An article of clothing, comprising:

a main body having a tubular waistband, a front panel, a back panel and a pair of leg openings;

a pair of pockets that are disposed along an inside facing portion of the back panel, said pocket including a bottom end, an open top end and an interior space; and

a pair of inserts that are removably positioned within the interior space of each of the pair of pockets,

wherein the pair of inserts include a shape and a size that approximate a shape and a size of a human buttock.

2. The clothing of claim 1, wherein the pair of inserts are constructed from at least one of a silicone or nylon material.

3. The clothing of claim 1, wherein the pair of inserts are constructed from a resilient material that moves in conformity with a movement of a user's buttock.

4. The clothing of claim 1, wherein the pair of pockets are positioned along the back panel so as to cover an entirety of a user's buttocks.

5. The clothing of claim 4, wherein the pair of inserts include a shape and a size that is complementary to a shape and a size of the interior space of the pair of pockets.

6. The clothing of claim 1, further comprising:

connectors that are positioned along the open top end of each of the pair of pockets, said connectors functioning to selectively secure the open top end in a closed position.

7. The clothing of claim 6, wherein the connectors comprise strips of hook and loop material.
