Abstract
A mobile phone case system may include a first mobile phone case comprising a first module connector; a second mobile phone case comprising a second module connector; and a connecting module that connects with the first module connector and the second module connector.
Description
- Mobile phones and handheld devices are in widespread use. The devices are often expensive, leading users to purchase protective phone cases to prevent damage to the phones from dropping or other events that happen during frequent use.
- Disclosed herein are apparatuses for multiple mobile phones. A mobile phone case incorporates a module connector. The module connector may be recessed into the mobile phone case or protrude from the mobile phone case. The module connector may include multiple extensions for connecting with a connecting module. The extension may be in the shape of a hook. In another example, A modular mobile phone case system may include a first mobile phone case comprising a first module connector; a second mobile phone case comprising a second module connector; and a connecting module that connects with the first module connector and the second module connector.

FIG. 1 illustrates an exemplary perspective view of amobile phone system 100. As shown, there may bemobile phone case 102 connected withmobile phone case 106 using connectingmodule 101. Connectingmodule 101 may be a removable module that allowsmobile phone case 102 andmobile phone case 106 to be connected. Connectingmodule 101 may be a body that helps form a hinged connection that allowsmobile phone case 102 and mobile 106 to be brought together as shown inFIG. 3 orFIG. 4 . - With continued reference to
FIG. 1 ,mobile phone case 102 may include inside (e.g., concaved)portion 111. Insideportion 111 may be deep enough to hold a mobile phone. Insideportion 111 may also includecutout 104. Cutout 104 (and cutout 108) may vary in size and position withininside portion 111. Cutout 104 may have dimensions that are appropriate for a camera on a mobile phone to have a clear line of sight (e.g., no obstruction from inside portion 111) or other feature.Mobile phone case 102 may haveholes 103 that are used to provide access for different features, such as connecting power, speakers (e.g., allowing audio not to be obstructed), audio jacks, or the like for a mobile phone. Fastener 105 may be a removable adhesive system, hook-and-loop fastener system, a magnet system, bolts, clips, latch, pins, sockets, button fastening system, or the like that mechanically connects a face or rear ofmobile phone case 102 withmobile phone case 106, which may place mobilephone case system 100 in a closed book-like position, such as inFIG. 3 orFIG. 4 . -
FIG. 3 is an exemplary illustration of mobilephone case system 100 in a closed book-like position. As shown inFIG. 3 , connectingmodule 101 connectsmobile phone case 102 withmobile phone case 106 in a manner in whichrear portion 113 ofmobile phone case 106 and rear portion of mobile phone case 102 (not shown) may be on opposite ends and substantially parallel to each other. Connectingmodule 101 is also configured so thatmobile phone case 102 ormobile phone case 106 may swivel into an open position (e.g.,FIG. 1 ), a closed book-like position with inside of the mobile phone cases facing inwards towards each other (e.g.,FIG. 3 ), or a closed book-like position with inside of the mobile phone cases facing outwards away from each other (e.g.,FIG. 4 ). -
FIG. 2 illustrates an exemplary illustration of mobilephone case system 100. As shown inFIG. 2 , there is connectingmodule 101. Connectingmodule 101 may be plastic or other material that is significantly shorter (e.g., 25%) or more than the length of a mobile phone case (e.g., mobile phone case 106). In addition, there may be one or more module connectors, such asmodule connector 120 ormodule connector 129. For example, with regard tomobile phone case 106,module connector 129 may be a structure that is attached or otherwise protrudes from (or recessed in)mobile phone case 106.Module connector 129 may have one or more extensions (e.g., hooks-curved or bent back at an angle) on each end that are inserted into a portion of connectingmodule 101. The ends ofmodule connector 129 may extend and spring back in order to snap into and secureconnecting module 101. Connectingmodule 101 may have one or more portions (e.g., apertures) that allow connectingmodule 101 to connect withmobile phone case 102 ormobile phone case 106. In an example, as shown, connectingmodule 101 may haveaperture 123,aperture 124,aperture 125, oraperture 126 that may be of a sufficient diameter to allow insertion ofextension 121,extension 122,extension 127, orextension 128. Connectingmodule 101 may be constructed in multiple ways in order to cause a connection of separate mobile phone cases. In an example, one or more magnets may be used with connectingmodule 101,module connector 120,module connector 129,mobile phone case 102, ormobile phone case 106. - In an example, not shown, module connector 129 (or module connector 120) may be a fastener that is located on the side or rear of mobile phone case 106 (or mobile phone case 102). Connecting
module 101 may connect to one ormore module connectors 129 using such fasteners as disclosed herein.Module connector 129 may be located onrear portion 113 in a position near the edge (e.g., top, bottom, or side edge) ofmobile phone case 106, near the middle ofphone case 106, or any side ofmobile phone case 106. - There may be a holding apparatus (e.g. pocket (recessed or protruding), removable glue, hook-and-loop system, magnets, buttons, other fasteners, or the like) on
mobile phone case 102 ormobile phone case 106. The holding apparatus (not shown) may be used to hold one or more connectingmodules 101 when not in use. The pocket may be located onrear portion 113 ofmobile phone case 106 or the like. -
Module 101 may not be the entire length of a phone case and may allow for buttons such asbutton 131 orbutton 132 be attached to the side ofmobile phone case 106 andmobile phone 102.Button 131 orbutton 132 may be correspond with power, audio control, or other features of a mobile phone that is inserted inmobile phone case 106 ormobile phone case 102. The modular nature of mobilephone case system 100 may allow for multiple mobile phones to be chained together. It is contemplated that two, three, four, or more mobile phone cases may be connected together at one time. In a case when there are more than two mobile phone cases chained together, it is contemplated that one of the mobile phone cases my have multiple module connectors attached (e.g.,mobile phone case 106 may have twomodule connectors 129 attached). The modular connectors may be connected on any side ofmobile phone case 106. - In a contemplated example, the mobile
phone case system 100 may the same or similar material for some or all of the components, including connectingmodule 101,base 101,module connector 120,module connector 129,mobile phone case 102, ormobile phone case 106, among other components. The material used for a mobilephone case system 100 may be hard or solid. It should be understood that the some of the materials may be injection molded or otherwise molded, so that they keep their contemplated form—solid/hard. Contemplated material for one or more components of mobilephone case system 100 may include plastic, polymer material, composite material, graphite material, a metal-based material, a sustainable or “green” material, such as bamboo or a combination thereof. - In summary, disclosed herein is an apparatus that may be used for carrying or protecting mobile phones. The module connector may connect with a connecting module that pivots along a substantially fixed axis. The connecting module may cause the mobile phone case system to pivot along one or more axis. There may be a holding apparatus for holding a connecting module, wherein the module connector may include multiple extensions for connecting with the connecting module. The module connector may be magnetized or connect with the connecting module that is magnetized. The module connector may use a fastener such as an adhesive, or the like as disclosed herein, to connect with a mobile phone case. This may occur often when the mobile phone case does not have a built-in module connector.

It should be apparent, many more modifications besides those already described are possible without departing from the inventive concepts herein. It is contemplated that the different elements of the disclosed forms of a mobile phone case system disclosed herein (e.g.,
FIG. 1 -FIG. 16 ) may be mixed and matched. The inventive subject matter, therefore, is not to be restricted except in the spirit of the disclosure herein. Moreover, in interpreting the disclosure, all terms should be interpreted in the broadest possible manner consistent with the context. In particular, the terms “comprises” and “comprising” should be interpreted as referring to elements, components, or steps in a non-exclusive manner, indicating that the referenced elements, components, or steps may be present, or utilized, or combined with other elements, components, or steps that are not expressly referenced. The use of the term “or” herein is used in an inclusive manner unless otherwise disclosed. Hinged generally means a jointed apparatus or flexible piece (e.g., cloth, plastic, or leather that may be fastened on each mobile phone case) on which an attached part turns, swings, or moves.
Claims (18)
1. A mobile phone case, the mobile phone case comprising a module connector.
2. The mobile phone case of claim 1 , wherein the module connector is recessed into the mobile phone case.
3. The mobile phone case of claim 1 , wherein the module connector is protruding from the mobile phone case.
4. The mobile phone case of claim 1 , wherein the module connector comprises multiple extensions for connecting with a connecting module.
5. The mobile phone case of claim 1 , wherein the module connector comprises an extension for connecting with a connecting module, the extension is in a shape of a hook.
6. The mobile phone case of claim 1 , comprising a holding apparatus for holding a connecting module, wherein the module connector comprises multiple extensions for connecting with the connecting module.
7. The mobile phone case of claim 1 , wherein the module connector connects with a connecting module that pivots along an axis.
8. The mobile phone case of claim 1 , wherein the module connector connects with a connecting module using one or more magnets.
9. The mobile phone case of claim 1 , further comprising a fastener for fastening to another mobile phone case.
10. A mobile phone case system comprising:
a first mobile phone case comprising a first module connector;
a second mobile phone case comprising a second module connector; and
a connecting module that connects with the first module connector and the second module connector.
11. The mobile phone case system of claim 10 , wherein the first module connector is recessed into the first mobile phone case.
12. The mobile phone case system of claim 10 , wherein the first module connector is protruding from the first mobile phone case.
13. The mobile phone case system of claim 10 , wherein the first module connector comprises multiple extensions for connecting with the connecting module.
14. The mobile phone case system of claim 10 , wherein the first module connector comprises an extension for connecting with a connecting module, the extension is in a shape of a hook.
15. The mobile phone case system of claim 10 , comprising a holding apparatus for holding a connecting module, wherein the first module connector comprises multiple extensions for connecting with the connecting module.
16. The mobile phone case system of claim 10 , wherein the connecting module pivots along an axis.
17. The mobile phone case system of claim 10 , wherein the connecting module is magnetized.
18. The mobile phone case system of claim 10 , further comprising a fastener attached to the first mobile phone case for fastening to the second mobile phone case.
