- The disclosure relates to resealable bag devices and more particularly pertains to a new resealable bag device for facilitating the opening of a resealed bag.
- The prior art relates to resealable bag devices. Known bag devices have various resealing mechanism. A common packaging technique includes a tear-off section above a press seal mechanism. Once opened and resealed, these press seal mechanisms can be very difficult to open, particularly for user's with weak or arthritic hands. Known devices do not include additional grip tabs and require the user to pull on the bag sides.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a first bag side having a first top edge, a first bottom edge, a first left edge, a first right edge, a first outer face, and a first inner face and a second bag side coupled to the first bag side. The second bag side has a second top edge, a second bottom edge, a second left edge, and a second right edge coupled to the first top edge, the first bottom edge, the first left edge, and the first right edge, respectively. The second bag side has a second outer face and a second inner face. The second bag side and the first bag side form a bag interior. A press seal closure is coupled to the bag body. The press seal closure includes a first track coupled to the first inner face proximal the first top edge and a second track coupled to the second inner face proximal the second top edge. The first track is selectively engageable with the second track. A pair of pull tabs is coupled to the bag body. The pair of pull tabs comprises a first pull tab coupled to the first outer face and a second pull tab coupled to the second outer face.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is an isometric view of an easy open resealable bag apparatus according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is an isometric view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a side elevation view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a front elevation view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a top plan view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new resealable bag device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the easy openresealable bag apparatus 10 generally comprises abag body 12 comprising afirst bag side 14 having a firsttop edge 16, afirst bottom edge 18, a firstleft edge 20, a firstright edge 22, a firstouter face 24, and a firstinner face 26. - A
second bag side 30 is coupled to thefirst bag side 14. Thesecond bag side 30 has a secondtop edge 32, asecond bottom edge 34, a secondleft edge 36, and a secondright edge 38 coupled to the firsttop edge 16, thefirst bottom edge 18, the firstleft edge 20, and the firstright edge 22, respectively. Thesecond bag side 30 has a secondouter face 40 and a secondinner face 42. Thesecond bag side 30 and thefirst bag side 14 form abag interior 44. Each of thefirst bag side 14 and thesecond bag side 30 may have a folded portion 46 adjacent the firstleft edge 20, the firstright edge 22, the secondleft edge 38, and the secondright edge 38 to increase the maximum volume of thebag interior 44. - The
first bag side 14 may have afirst perforation 48 extending from the firstleft edge 20 to the firstright edge 22 proximal the firsttop edge 16. Thesecond bag side 30 has asecond perforation 50 aligned with thefirst perforation 48. Thebag body 12 may have a pair oftear notches 52 including aleft notch 54 and aright notch 56 extending through thefirst bag side 14 and thesecond bag side 30. Once thefirst bag side 14 and thesecond bag side 30 have been cut or ripped along thefirst perforation 48 and thesecond perforation 50, or between theleft notch 54 and theright notch 56, thebag interior 44 is accessible as shown inFIG. 5 . - A
press seal closure 58 is coupled to thebag body 12. Thepress seal closure 58 includes afirst track 60 coupled to the firstinner face 26 proximal the firsttop edge 16 and asecond track 62 coupled to the secondinner face 42 proximal the secondtop edge 32. Thefirst track 60 is selectively engageable with thesecond track 62. Thepress seal closure 58 may have a zip or other press-to-seal mechanism. Thepress seal closure 58 is coupled below the pair oftear notches 52 to remain functional once the portion of thebag body 12 between the pair oftear notches 52 and the firsttop edge 16 and the secondtop edge 32 has been removed. - A pair of
pull tabs 64 is coupled to thebag body 12. The pair ofpull tabs 64 comprises afirst pull tab 66 coupled to the firstouter face 24 and asecond pull tab 68 coupled to the secondouter face 40. Eachpull tab 64 has a tabinner face 70 and a tabouter face 72. Anattachment portion 74 of the tab inner face is coupled to thebag body 12 and agrip portion 76 is flexibly extendable away from thebag body 12. Eachpull tab 64 may have a plurality ofgrip ridges 78 on the tabinner face 70 and the tabouter face 72 to improve grip. Eachpull tab 64 may be transparent to prevent obstruction of logos and designs on thebag body 12. The thickness of eachpull tab 64 may be greater than the thickness of thefirst bag side 14 and thesecond bag side 30 to avoid breakage. - In use, the portion of the
bag body 12 between the pair oftear notches 52 and the firsttop edge 16 and the secondtop edge 32 is cut or torn off. Thepress seal closure 58 is selectively closed by pressing on thefirst bag side 14 and thesecond bag side 30. To reopen thepress seal closure 58, the pair ofpull tabs 64 are secured and pulled apart. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
