Abstract

A protective sleeve for preserving the style and texture of hairs during sleeping. The protective sleeve can include a broad sleeve portion having a first open end, wherein the broad sleeve portion configured to stretch over a bunch of hairs and worn over the head of a wearer; a narrow-elongated sleeve portion that has a second open end, wherein the narrow-elongated sleeve portion configured to cover the bunch of hairs, wherein the second open end configured to permit a tail of the bunch of hairs to pass through; and a flared sleeve portion that extends between the broad sleeve portion and the narrow-elongated sleeve portion, wherein the narrow-elongated sleeve portion, the broad sleeve portion, and the flared sleeve portion are integral.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims priority to the U.S. provisional patent application Ser. No. 63/023,685, filed on May 12, 2020, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to a sleeve for organizing hairs, and more particularly, the present invention relates to a protective sleeve for long hairs that prevents frizzy hair after sleep.

BACKGROUND

Hairs have been an important part of humans as the hairstyle and the condition of hairs can affect one's personality and appearance. Tidy and groomed hairs are liked by everyone. Thus, the proper care of hairs is important as other parts of the body like skincare and dental care. Long hairs generally demand more care than short hairs. So, women typically spend a significant amount of time taking care of their hair. Additionally, professional services are also taken for hair care which can be both expensive and time taking. Besides natural hairs, artificial hairs can also be used either to increase the volume of hairs or to hide any bald area. For example, hair extensions are generally used to increase the volume of hairs, and wigs are used to hide bald areas.
However, in sleep, the hairs tend to tangle and appear frizzy after sleep. To protect the hairs during sleep, scarves or bonnets are generally worn during sleep. However, the use of scarves or bonnets requires the hairs to be tied and folded. Moreover, such scarves may not be comfortable during sleep.
Thus, a need is appreciated for a protective hair care article that can keep the hairs organized during sleep and prevent frizzy hairs after sleep.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The following presents a simplified summary of one or more embodiments of the present invention in order to provide a basic understanding of such embodiments. This summary is not an extensive overview of all contemplated embodiments and is intended to neither identify key or critical elements of all embodiments nor delineate the scope of any or all embodiments. Its sole purpose is to present some concepts of one or more embodiments in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.
The principal object of the present invention is therefore directed to a protective sleeve for keeping long hairs organized during sleep.
It is another object of the present invention that the protective sleeve can be quickly and easily worn.
It is still another object of the present invention that the protective sleeve can prevent hairs from getting tangled or frizzy.
It is yet another object of the present invention that the protective sleeve can be comfortable during sleep.
It is a further object of the present invention that the protective sleeve does not require tying the hairs.
It is still a further object of the present invention that the protective sleeve is economical to manufacture.
It is an additional object of the present invention that the protective sleeve can keep artificial hairs including extension and wigs organized during sleep.
It is still an additional object of the present invention that the protective sleeve can help to increase the effective life of extensions and wigs.
In one aspect, disclosed is a protective sleeve for hairs that can be worn over the head and can keep the hairs organized during sleep. The disclosed protective sleeve can easily stretch over the long hairs to keep the hairs together during sleep preserving both the style and texture of the hairs. The protective sleeve can include a narrow-elongated sleeve portion, a flared sleeve portion, and a broad sleeve portion. The flared sleeve portion and the broad sleeve portion can be worn over the head of a person, while the narrow-elongated portion can stretch over the bunch of long hairs. Near an end of the narrow-elongated portion, can be a drawstring to tie down a tail of the bunch of hairs. An end of the broad sleeve portion can have an elastic strap/band around the periphery that can hold the protective sleeve worn over the head.
These and other objects and advantages of the embodiments herein and the summary will become readily apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

The following detailed description includes the best currently contemplated mode or modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention will be best defined by the allowed claims of any resulting patent.
Referring to FIG. 1 which shows an exemplary embodiment of the disclosed protective sleeve 100 that can have a proximal end and a distal end. The protective sleeve 100 can stretch over a bunch of long hairs and be worn over the head of a person. The protective sleeve 100 can have a narrow-elongated portion 110 that terminates to the proximal end of the protective sleeve 100, a broad portion 120 that has the distal end, and a flared portion 130 that can extend between the narrow-elongated portion 110 and the broad portion 120. The protective sleeve 100 can be tubular made of a stretchable material that can stretch over the head and comfortably fit around the head of a wearer. It can cover the long bunch of hairs of the head including natural hairs and artificial hairs. The hairs covered by the protective sleeve 100 can preserve the style and texture/condition of hairs during sleep. The hairs do get tangled during sleep or appear frizzy in the morning. The material of the protective sleeve 100 can be skin-friendly and hair-friendly which prevents any static charge buildup on the hairs.
Also, it can be seen in FIG. 1 is an elastic band 140 around a periphery of the broad portion 120 i.e., the distal end of the protective sleeve 100. On the opposite end of the protective sleeve 100 i.e., the proximal end can be a drawstring 150 around a periphery of the narrow-elongated portion 110. To wear the disclosed protective sleeve 100, a user can bunch the hairs together and the distal end of the protective sleeve 100 can be stretched over the bunch of hair and worn over the head of the wearer. The elastic band 140 can stretch over the head and can hold the protective sleeve 100 in a worn position. The elasticity of the elastic band 140 can be such as the protective sleeve 100 does not slip off from the head while not causing any discomfort to the wearer. The stretchability of the broad portion 120, flared portion 130, and the narrow-elongated portion 110 also keep the protective sleeve 100 stably worn over the head during sleep. The tail of the bunch of hairs can exit through the distal end of the protective sleeve 100, wherein the bunch of hairs can be held together by the stretchable narrow-elongated portion 110. The broad portion 120 and the flared portion 130 can cover the head of the wearer. The tail of the bunch of hairs can be tied by pulling the drawstrings 150 around the tail.
The disclosed protective sleeve 100 can be lightweight, breathable, and multifunctional. It can hold the hairs in place and keep them from tangling. The protective sleeve 100 can have a 4-way stretch that allows it to easily adjust to hairs of various lengths. The disclosed protective sleeve 100 because of its stretchability can firmly keep the bunch of hair together to preserve the style and texture of hairs. Moreover, the material of the protective sleeve 100 can be smooth such as the rubbing of the protective sleeve 100 by the beddings does not affect the hairs. The disclosed protective sleeve 100 can be used to keep both natural and artificial hairs including hairpieces, wigs, braids, extensions, dreadlocks, hair weaves, and the like tidy and preserve the style.
In one aspect, the disclosed protective sleeve 100 can be made from a 4-way stretch power mesh fabric that can be 90% nylon and 10% spandex with a lightweight of 93 GSM or 4 oz per yard. It entails a band of elastic around the head, and a long tail with a drawstring at the tail opening.
In one case, the disclosed protective sleeve 100 can be prepared from fabric cut into a shape as shown in FIG. 1. Two such cut prices of fabric can be sewn together at edges to form the sleeve throw which a bunch of hairs can pass through. Both ends of the sleeve are open for the hairs to pass through. In one case, waistline and overlock stitching can be used to prevent the thread from breaking. Additionally, narrow-elongated portion 110 can be of sufficient length to hold the bunch of long hairs together and firmly.
In one case, the narrow-elongated portion 110 can have a diameter of about 3-4 inches. The broad portion 120 can have a diameter of about 8-9 inches. The flared portion 130 at its mid can have a diameter of about 5.5-6.5 inches. The protective sleeve 100 can have an overall length of about 28-30 inches. The length of the broad portion 120 can be about 4-5 inches. The combined length of the flared portion 130 and the broad portion 120 can be about 11-12 inches.
FIG. 2 shows if how each of the parts is connected to the other part(s), if any. Two pieces of power mesh fabric cut and sewed together with an elastic head band and one drawstring. FIG. 3 shows pattern for cutting protective sleeve and drawstring.
While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is considered presently to be the best mode thereof, those of ordinary skill will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should therefore not be limited by the above-described embodiment, method, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention as claimed.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A protective sleeve for preserving style and texture of hairs during sleep, the protective sleeve comprises:

a broad sleeve portion having a first open end, wherein the broad sleeve portion configured to stretch over a bunch of hairs and worn over head of a wearer;

a narrow-elongated sleeve portion that has a second open end, wherein the narrow-elongated sleeve portion configured to cover the bunch of hairs, wherein the second open end configured to permit a tail of the bunch of hairs to pass through; and

a flared sleeve portion that extends between the broad sleeve portion and the narrow-elongated sleeve portion,

wherein the narrow-elongated sleeve portion, the broad sleeve portion, and the flared sleeve portion are integral.

The protective sleeve according to claim 1, wherein the protective sleeve further comprises an elastic band coupled around a periphery of the broad sleeve portion adjacent to the first open end, the elastic band configured to stretch over the head and hold the protective sleeve worn over the head.

3. The protective sleeve according to claim 2, wherein the protective sleeve further comprises a drawstring along a periphery of the narrow-elongated sleeve portion adjacent to the second open end, wherein the drawstring is configured for tying the tail of the bunch of hairs.

4. The protective sleeve according to claim 3, wherein the narrow-elongated sleeve portion, the broad sleeve portion, and the flared sleeve portion are made of stretchable material.

The protective sleeve according to claim 3, wherein the protective sleeve is of a length about 28-30 inches, the broad sleeve portion is of a diameter about 8-9 inches, the narrow-elongated sleeve portion is of a diameter of about 3-4 inches, and a combined length the flared sleeve portion and the broad sleeve portion is about 11-12 inches.

6. A method of preserving a style and texture of hair during sleep, the method comprising the steps of:

providing a protective sleeve, the protective sleeve comprising:

a broad sleeve portion having a first open end, wherein the broad sleeve portion configured to stretch over a bunch of hairs and worn over head of a wearer,

a narrow-elongated sleeve portion that has a second open end,

wherein the narrow-elongated sleeve portion configured to cover the bunch of hairs, wherein the second open end configured to permit a tail of the bunch of hairs to pass through,

a flared sleeve portion that extends between the broad sleeve portion and the narrow-elongated sleeve portion, and

a drawstring along a periphery of the narrow-elongated sleeve portion adjacent to the second open end, wherein the drawstring is configured for tying the tail of the bunch of hairs,

7. The method according to claim 6, wherein the method further comprises the steps of:

tying the drawstring over the tail of the bunch of hairs.
