Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The invention, as stated in the title of the present specification, relates to an adaptable bar which contributes, to its intended use, advantages and features, which are described in detail further on, which imply a notable novelty in the current state of the art.
  • The object of the present invention lies in a bar for performing pull-up exercises, the structural configuration of which is especially designed to enable it to be adapted and be able to be fastened at the respective ends thereof between two surfaces located at different distances and, especially, to be able to be fastened therebetween, even if they are not parallel and form variable angles, both in the vertical and horizontal planes, since there is at least one end which is provided with an attachment unit that includes a movable double spider in order to be able to vary the angle of the joint thereof with the bar itself.
  • FIELD OF APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION
  • The field of application of the present invention falls within the sector of the industry dedicated to manufacturing sports apparatuses and devices, focusing particularly on the field of gymnastics or fitness, and more specifically on pull-up bars.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • As is known, pull-ups are gymnastic exercises, the execution of which consists of lifting the body while it is hanging from a bar and, consequently, this bar is known as a pull-up bar.
  • As a reference to the current state of the art, it should be noted that although multiple types and models of bars for doing pull-ups are known, the existence of any other invention of similar application which has technical and structural features equal or similar to those had by the one claimed herein is not known at least by the applicant.
  • This is due to the fact that the existing pull-up bars either comprise a support structure to be able to fasten them on a flat surface, or, if they are only limited to comprising the bar itself as is the case here, they have at the ends thereof attachment elements for securing same which are immovable, for which reason they must always be fastened between two perfectly parallel surfaces.
  • However, many times, both in sports facilities and in private homes, due to the type of construction or distribution of the rooms, there are no two perfectly parallel surfaces, but rather opposing walls which have the surfaces thereof at variable angles, both horizontally and vertically, since there are corners that are not always 90° and there are planes inclined both vertically and horizontally.
  • The pull-up bar of the present invention thus solves said problem thanks to the joining system thereof with movable securing ends.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The adaptable bar proposed by the invention therefore configured as a notable novelty within its field of application, since as it is implemented, the aforementioned objectives are satisfactorily achieved, the characterising details that distinguish it being conveniently included in the final claims accompanying this description.
  • More specifically, what the invention proposes is a bar for performing pull-up exercises which, being of the kind which comprises respective attachment means at the ends thereof to secure same between two opposing surfaces, differs from all bars known by having a structural configuration especially designed to enable the adaptation thereof to different separation distances between said surfaces and, especially, to be able to be fastened therebetween, even if they are not perfectly parallel and form variable angles, both in the vertical and horizontal planes.
  • To do so, the bar of the invention comprises, at least, one end provided with a variable-angle attachment unit that includes a movable double spider which allows it to change and fix the joining angle between said unit with the bar itself in different positions, as appropriate, in order to adapt it to the vertical or horizontal inclination that the surface to which it is to be secured may have.
  • Preferably, however, the bar of the invention has at both ends thereof a variable-angle attachment unit such as the one described to be able to be fastened on both sides, adapting to surfaces which have a variable vertical and/or horizontal inclination.
  • In any case, and according to an additional feature of the pull-up bar of the invention, the attachment unit comprises an independent securing plate which is previously secured to the wall and onto which the bar is fitted once said plate has been fastened. The use of these independent securing plates enables the bar to be easily detached from the wall when it is not needed and secured to the wall again in the same position when it is needed again.
  • Optionally, ornamental covers are provided for the securing plates which can be fastened on the plates when the bar is not fitted.
  • Preferably, this independent securing plate is fastened to the wall by means of one or more self-tapping screws with eventually the corresponding wall plugs thereof, a feature which increases the safety of the pull-up bar by supporting more weight if we compare the bar to the bar which is fastened to the wall by pressure.
  • Likewise, according to another additional feature of the bar, the variable-angle attachment unit, for greater safety, comprises a protective part consisting of an ornamental bellows which covers all the elements that make up said unit, including the aforementioned plate for securing to the wall.
  • Moreover, as indicated above, the pull-up bar of the invention is also adaptable to different widths, for which it comprises means for regulating the length thereof, which preferably comprise two inner tubes, joined by one of the ends thereof to the respective ends of the bar in the corresponding element of each of the fastening units, and by the opposite ends thereof on both sides of a central outer tube, by means of respective threaded units, one right-handed and the other left-handed, which enable the fastening point to be varied in order to extend or reduce the length of the bar.
  • The adaptable bar described therefore consists of an innovative structure with features heretofore unknown for its intended purpose, reasons which, taken together with its usefulness, provide it with sufficient grounds for obtaining the requested exclusivity privilege.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • To complete the description, and for the purpose of helping to make the features of the invention more readily understandable, this description is accompanied by a set of drawings constituting an integral part of the same, which by way of illustration and not limitation represents the following:
  • FIG. 1 shows an elevation view of an exemplary embodiment of the adaptable bar, object of the invention, showing the general external configuration thereof and the main parts it comprises;
  • FIG. 2 shows a cross-sectional view, according to a longitudinal cross section, of the bar of the invention shown in FIG. 1, showing the parts and elements that it comprises, as well as the configuration and arrangement thereof;
  • FIG. 3 shows a partially cross-sectional perspective view of the outer tube that it has, and which enables the configuration and arrangement of the existing means for adjusting the length thereof to be seen;
  • FIG. 4 shows an enlarged view of detail A indicated in FIG. 2 and which enables the internal elements of one of the ends with a variable-angle attachment unit, which the bar has according to the invention, to be seen;
  • FIG. 5 shows an enlarged view of detail B indicated in FIG. 2 and which represents one of the internal threaded units comprised by the means for adjusting the length of the bar according to the invention; and
  • FIG. 6 shows an enlarged perspective view of one of the variable-angle attachment units of one of the ends of the bar of the invention, which has been represented without an ornamental bellows, the functional elements it comprises being seen.

  • Thus, as seen in said figures, the pull-up bar of the invention, made up of a single bar (1) itself with wall securing means at the ends thereof for securing same between two opposing surfaces, comprises, on at least one of said ends, a variable-angle attachment unit (2) that includes a movable double spider (21) which allows the joining angle between said variable-angle attachment unit (2) and the bar (1) itself to be changed and fixed in two axes of the space.
  • In the preferred embodiment, however, the bar (1) has at both ends a variable-angle attachment unit (2) with a movable double spider (21) which allows the joining angle thereof with the bar (1) itself to be changed and fixed in two axes of the space.
  • In any case, the variable-angle attachment unit (2) comprises a plate for securing to the wall (22) which is secured independently by means of self-tapping screws (23) and eventually the corresponding wall plugs thereof, and whereon the bar (1) is then fitted, preferably through a connection base (24) which can be inserted into a guide (25) envisaged for this purpose in said securing plate (22). Optionally, ornamental covers are envisaged in order to cover the securing plates (22) when the bar (1) is not fitted.
  • Preferably, the movable double spider (21), as seen in the detail of FIGS. 4 and 6, comprises a cardan joint (26) to which is joined, on one side, respective lugs of the connection base (24) with a pin (27) that provides an articulated joint in a first axis of the space, and on the other side, a connector (28) with another pin (27) perpendicular to the first that provides another articulated joint in a second axis of the space, this connector (28) being joined, in turn, to the bar (1) on the opposite side thereof.
  • Additionally, the variable-angle attachment unit (2) is covered and protected with an ornamental bellows (29) which covers all the elements thereof, including the aforementioned securing plate (22).
  • Moreover, the means for adjusting the length that the bar (1) according to the invention also has preferably comprise two inner tubes (11), joined at one end to the respective securing ends of the bar, preferably the two variable-angle attachment units (2), and at the opposite end to a central outer tube (12), by means of respective threaded units (13), one right-handed and the other left-handed, which, in turn, as seen in the detail of FIG. 5, comprise a conical screw (14) integral with the inner tube (11) which threads into a nut (15) integral with the outer tube (12).
  • Finally, it should be noted that, preferably, both the joint of the end of the inner tube (11) on each side of the bar (1) with the connector (28) of the respective attachment units (2) and the joint, on the other end of the inner tube (11) with the conical screw (14), is performed by means of pins (16).
  • Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the ways of implementing it, it is not considered necessary to extend its explanation for any expert in the state of the art to understand its scope and the advantages which derive from it, specifying that, within its essential nature, it can be carried out in other embodiments that differ in detail from the one provided by way of example, and which are also covered by the requested protection, provided that they do not alter, change or modify its fundamental principle.
