Abstract
A stacking game system is provided. The stacking game system includes a spinner. The spinner includes a number of slots. Each slot is sized to receive a playing card from a deck of playing cards. A system of blocks that are stackable is included. The deck of playing cards is sorted into a number of groups. Each group of playing cards corresponds to a set of blocks from the system of blocks. The system of blocks is stackable, but are structurally free of interlocking components. A game may be played utilizing the components of the stacking game system.
Description
- This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/913,816 filed on Oct. 11, 2019. The above identified patent application is herein incorporated by reference in its entirety to provide continuity of disclosure.
- The present invention relates to a stacking game system. More specifically, the present invention is a multi-component game structure providing several elements for a deeper, more fulfilling gameplay experience.
- Many people enjoy playing board games or other types of interactive games. Whether amongst family, friends or strangers, engaging in a game of chance or a game of skill can be an energizing and exciting way for an individual to spend their time. Regardless of one's skill level or luck, he or she can enjoy time with other people in a constructive environment by playing games. In addition to the social benefits of board games and other interactive games, these activities can also be beneficial for an individual's physical and mental health. Some games can require an individual to use mathematical skills, or to wield their fine motor skills carefully. Many games are competitive, allowing for individuals to challenge those around them in games of luck and skill.
- Over time, however, many interactive games may become dull. Particularly, some games may become so familiar to the players over time that the challenge associated with playing them may be diminished. Once a player becomes so good at an interactive game, the people around them may not wish to challenge them or to play with them anymore. Therefore, there is a defined need in the known arts for a game system that combines familiar elements to interactive game enthusiasts with new technologies to create an enhanced experience of interactive gaming.
- In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of game systems and structures now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a stacking game system wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user when organizing a playing a stacking game.
- The present system comprises a plurality of spinners. Each spinner comprises a base member and a rotational member. The rotational member is movably secured to the base member, such that the rotational member may rotate when the base member is in a stable position. Each base member comprises a plurality of slots. The plurality of slots is dimensioned to receive a plurality of playing cards therein. The plurality of playing cards correspond to a plurality of blocks. The plurality of playing cards may be sorted into a plurality of playing card groups and the plurality of blocks may be sorted into a plurality of block portions. The plurality of block portions is stackable, such that the plurality of block portions may be placed into a tower configuration.
- Although the characteristic features of this invention will be particularly pointed out in the claims, the invention itself and manner in which it may be made and used may be better understood after a review of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like numeral annotations are provided throughout.

FIG. 3 shows a demonstrative view of an embodiment of the stacking game system. - Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the stacking game system. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.
- Referring now to
FIG. 1 , there is shown a spinner of an embodiment of the stacking game system. The stacking game system comprises a plurality ofspinners 11. Eachspinner 11 comprises abase member 12. Thebase member 12 is planar in construction, such that it may rest on a flat surface. In the illustrated embodiment, thebase member 12 is circular in shape. Ideally, thebase member 12 will be of a rigid material, such that stability and durability are provided thebase member 12. In some embodiments, thespinner 11 may be fully or partially luminescent or composed of a luminescent material. As such, thespinner 11 will glow in the dark allowing for increased visibility in low-light situations, as well as increasing the visual aesthetic of the stacking game system. - The
base member 12 further comprises arotational member 13. Therotational member 13 is movably affixed to thebase member 12. Therotational member 13 is movably secured to thebase member 12 by any suitable means. For example, therotational member 13 may be secured to thebase member 12 via a rivet or a pin inserted through the proximal end of therotational member 13 into thebase member 12. The rivet or pin should be rigidly affixed to thebase member 12 such as to prevent movement of thebase member 12 when therotational member 13 is engaged. In the illustrated embodiment, therotational member 13 is centrally disposed on thebase member 12. Therotational member 13 comprises adistal indicator 14. Thedistal indicator 14 is configured to indicate a location at which therotational member 13 is oriented. As such, when therotational member 13 is moved or spun, thedistal indicator 14 will indicate the location at which the rotational member stops. - Additionally, the
base member 12 comprises a plurality ofslots 15. The plurality ofslots 15 are dimensioned to receive aplaying card 16 therein. As such, aplaying card 16 selected from a plurality of plurality ofcards 16 may be inserted into a slot of the plurality ofslots 15. Theslots 15 are dimensioned and positioned upon thebase member 12, such that when therotational member 13 is engaged, thedistal indicator 14 of therotational member 13 will land on a slot of the plurality ofslots 15. Theslot 15 having aplaying card 16 therein will elicit an action from the user based on the nature of theplaying card 16 on which thedistal indicator 14 of therotational member 13 lands. A plurality ofside walls 19 may extend upwardly from thebase member 12, such as to more effectively define the plurality ofslots 15. In the specific embodiment, theplaying card 16 is arc-shaped. As such, theplaying card 16 may be fully inserted into theslot 15 of thebase member 12. Furthermore, in some embodiments, eachplaying card 16 comprises anumeric indicia 21 thereon. Thenumeric indicia 21 corresponds to a block of the plurality of blocks (shown inFIG. 2 ). - Referring now to
FIG. 2 , there is shown a plurality of blocks of an embodiment of the stacking game system. The stacking game system further comprises a plurality ofblock portions 17. The plurality ofblock portions 17 are, by nature, distinct from one another. As such, eachblock portion 17 will have a different appearance or other characteristic compared to the remainingblock portions 17. Eachblock portion 17 comprises a plurality ofblocks 18. Each block of the plurality of blocks of eachblock portion 17 of the plurality of block portions is identical in size and shape. Even blockportion 17 is defined by a plurality ofblocks 18 that are each identical or similar in appearance. For example, eachblock portion 17 may consist of a plurality ofblocks 18 of a singular color or a singular pattern. - As shown, the plurality of
blocks 18 may be placed into a stacked configuration. In the demonstrated embodiment, the stacked configured is defined where a first set of fourblocks 18 a is placed into a linear alignment, wherein each block of the first set of fourblocks 18 a is in a parallel orientation. The first set of fourblocks 18 a are placed into contact with each other. On the top surface of the first set of fourblocks 18 a, a second set of fourblocks 18 b is placed. The second set of fourblocks 18 b are in parallel alignment with each other, but in perpendicular alignment with first set of fourblocks 18 a. As such, the length of each block of the plurality ofblocks 18, in the shown embodiment, is equal to four times the width of each block of the plurality ofblocks 18. This pattern is repeated until every block of the plurality ofblocks 18 is placed into the stackable configuration. As demonstrated, in the stacked configuration, each block portion of the plurality ofblock portions 17 is segregated from the remaining block portions of the plurality ofblock portions 17. - Referring now to
FIG. 3 , there is shown a demonstrative view of an embodiment of the stacking game system. The stacking game system further comprises a plurality ofplaying cards 16. In some embodiments, the plurality ofplaying cards 16 consists of a plurality of playing card groups. Each playing card group, in such an embodiment, corresponds to ablock portion 17 of the plurality of block portions. Furthermore, in some embodiments, the plurality ofplaying cards 16 are luminescent. As such, the plurality ofplaying cards 16 will be more visible in low-light conditions. - In a method of playing the stacking game system, a plurality of
players player playing cards 16 corresponding to the number ofslots 15 of thespinner 11. Once eachplayer slots 15 on theirspinner 11, thefirst player 22 a will engage therotational member 13 of his or herspinner 11, resulting in its relocation to aslot 15 of thespinner 11. Thefirst player 22 a will then follow the action indicated by theplaying card 16 in theslot 15 on which therotational member 13 landed. The action may be indicated by a numeric indicia, where thefirst player 22 a must select ablock 18 corresponding to thenumeric indicia 16. Theblock 18 itself, in such an embodiment, may further comprise an identical numeric indicia. Furthermore, the action may be indicated by a color, wherein thefirst player 22 a must select ablock 16 corresponding to the color of theplaying card 16. Alternatively, a number of indicia, such as a numeric indicia and a color may indicate which block 18 that the user must remove from the plurality ofblocks 18. - If the
first player 22 a is successful in removing the indicatedblock 18 from the plurality ofblocks 18, thesecond player 22 b will spin his or her rotational member to determine which block 18 he or she must remove from the plurality of blocks. Thefirst player 22 a will then select aplaying card 16 from a plurality ofplaying cards 16 to replace theplaying card 16 of which the action has been performed. The removed block may then be discarded or placed atop the plurality ofblocks 18 to further lengthen the game. The corresponding playing card is then discarded or returned to the plurality ofplaying cards 16. If thefirst player 22 a is unsuccessful, and the plurality ofblocks 18 collapse or fall, thesecond player 22 b and thethird player 22 c would win the stacking game. - It is therefore submitted that the instant invention has been shown and described in various embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art. With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
Claims (9)
1) A stacking game system, comprising:
a plurality of spinners;
each spinner comprising a base member and a rotational member movably affixed to the base member;
each base member defining a plurality of slots;
a plurality of playing cards;
each slot of the plurality of slots configured to receive a playing card of the plurality of playing cards therein;
a plurality of block portions;
the plurality of block portions comprising a plurality of blocks;
the blocks being stackable upon each other.
2) The stacking game system of claim 1 , wherein the spinner is luminescent.
3) The stacking game system of claim 1 , wherein each block portion of the plurality of block portions is of a different color.
4) The stacking game system of claim 1 , wherein each slot of the plurality of slots are defined by a plurality of side walls.
5) The stacking game system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of playing cards consists of a plurality of playing card groups, wherein each playing card group corresponds to a block portion of the plurality of block portions.
6) The stacking game system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of playing cards are luminescent.
7) The stacking game system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of playing cards are arc-shaped, such as to be received in the plurality of slots.
8) The stacking game system of claim 1 , wherein each playing card of the plurality of playing cards comprises a number thereon, the number corresponding to a block of the plurality of blocks.
9) A stacking game system, comprising:
a plurality of spinners;
each spinner comprising a base member and a rotational member movably affixed to the base member;
each rotation member defining a plurality of slots;
a plurality of playing cards;
the plurality of playing cards consisting of a plurality of playing card groups;
each slot of the plurality of slots configured to receive a playing card of the plurality of playing cards therein;
a plurality of block portions;
the plurality of block portions comprising a plurality of blocks;
each block portion of the plurality of block portions corresponding to a playing card group of the plurality of playing card groups;
each block portion of the plurality of block portions and each playing card group of the plurality of playing card groups comprising an identification color;
each playing card group comprising a plurality of playing cards;
each playing card comprising a number thereon;
the blocks being stackable upon each other.
