Abstract

A baseball cap is provided. The baseball cap has a face cover stored in a pocket in a stowed-away state. The pocket is along with periphery of the baseball cap. In a deployed state, the face cover can be pulled down by a user of the baseball hat to cover his face.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

The present invention is a continuation in part application to Ser. No. 16/532,265 filed Aug. 5, 2019, which claims priority to U.S. provisional application 62/732,815 filed Sep. 18, 2018 herein incorporated in its entirety at least by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention generally relates to head-wear, specifically headwear with a readily deployable cover.

2. Description of Related Art

In certain areas, people usually use face cover along with their head-wear. For example, people use mosquito nets along with their hats in certain areas such as forests.
In another example, people use a hat along and a facemask to protect against, insects, winter, and pollution. Typically, mosquito nets or any other type of face covers are oftentimes carried separately, resulting in the inconvenience of carrying these articles separately. Further, in some situations a face cover is useful in protections from viruses, such as COVID-19.
In light of the above mentioned drawbacks, there exists a need of integrating a headwear and a face cover.

The following presents a simplified summary of some embodiments of the invention in order to provide a basic understanding of the invention. Its sole purpose is to present some embodiments of the invention in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.
A primary object of the disclosure is to provide a headwear with an integrated face cover.
Another object of the disclosure is to provide a headwear with an easily deployable face cover.
Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a baseball cap with a deployable mosquito net.
The foregoing has outlined rather broadly the more pertinent and important features of the present disclosure so that the detailed description of the invention that follows may be better understood and so that the present contribution to the art can be more fully appreciated. Additional features of the invention will be described hereinafter which form the subject of the claims of the invention. It should be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the conception and the disclosed specific methods and structures may be readily utilized as a basis for modifying or designing other structures for carrying out the same purposes of the present disclosure. It should be realized by those skilled in the art that such equivalent structures do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Reference will now be made in detail to selected embodiments of the present disclosure in conjunction with accompanying figures. The embodiments described herein are not intended to limit the scope of the disclosure, and the present disclosure should not be construed as limited to the embodiments described. This disclosure may be embodied in different forms without departing from the scope and spirit of the disclosure. It should be understood that the accompanying figure is intended and provided to illustrate embodiments of the disclosure described below and are not necessarily drawn to scale. In the drawing, like numbers refer to like elements throughout, and thicknesses and dimensions of some components may be exaggerated for providing better clarity and ease of understanding.
It should be noted that the terms “first”, “second”, and the like, herein do not denote any order, ranking, quantity, or importance, but rather are used to distinguish one element from another. Further, the terms “a” and “an” herein do not denote a limitation of quantity, but rather denote the presence of at least one of the referenced item.
FIG. 1 illustrates a headgear 100 in a stowed-away state, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The headgear 100 such as a baseball cap has a head cover 105. The head cover 105 sits on the head of a user of the headwear. The headgear 100 has a periphery 110, an inside surface and an outside surface. The periphery 110 wraps around the user's temple, frontal, and occipital head regions. It will be understood to a person ordinarily skilled in the art that the headgear 100 can be of any type such as a cap, a hat, and so forth.
FIG. 2 illustrates a top perspective view of the headwear 100 in a deployed state, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The headwear 100 has a deployable face cover 205 along the periphery 110. For example, a baseball cap can have a deployable mosquito net. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the deployable face cover 205 is along entire periphery 110. In another embodiment of the present disclosure, the deployable face cover 205 is partially along the periphery 110. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the headwear 100 has a pulling member 210 to pull down the deployable face cover 205 from a stowed-away state to a deployed state. In one embodiment, the pulling member is a pulling string, however it should be understood that other designs may be provided. The stowed-away state is described in the subsequent FIGS.
FIG. 3 illustrates a cross section side view of the headwear 100, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The headwear 100 is shown to include a storage compartment 305 on the inside surface of the head cover 105. In one embodiment, the storage compartment is a pocket. The storage compartment 305 is along the periphery 110 of the head cover 105. The storage compartment 305 has a length and a width 310. The deployable face cover 205 is stored in the storage compartment 305 in a stowed-away state. For example, a baseball cap 100 can have a zipper to store a deployable mosquito net 205 in the zipper in a stowed-away state. In a deployment state, the deployable mosquito net 205 can be pulled down by opening the zipper and pulling the pulling member 210 down to fully or partially cover the head of a user. In one embodiment, the zipper provides access to the storage compartment as well known in the art. It should be understood, that although a zipper is disclosed and illustrated, other closure methods and/or devices may be provided.
Present disclosure provides several advantages over existing art. The headwear 100 having the storage compartment 305 at its inside surface. It allows folding and storing the deployable face cover 205 in the storage when not in use. Also there is no need to carry the deployable face cover 205 separately. In some embodiments, the deployable face cover is a face mask. Other embodiments, showing a face mask will be described below.
Referring now to FIGS. 4-7, an alternative headgear 200 with a deployable mask 202 is illustrated. In this embodiment, a mask 202 is configured to be stored in the headwear 201. In one embodiment, the mask 202 is configured to be stored in pocket 208 which is positioned in the inner side of the headwear above the bill on the front portion of the headwear 201. When the mask is deployed, a pair of stretchable bands 204 attached to the headwear keeps the mask connected to the headwear at all times. The position of the stretchable bands 204 may vary, and in some embodiments, the stretchable bands may be removed from the mask allowing a user to clean or wash the mask.
In some embodiments, a number of buttons 207 on the inside of the deployable mask 202 enable a replaceable filter 205 to be installed or removed. In alternative embodiments, the replaceable filter, or replaceable fabric may be installed inside a pocket provided on the inside of the mask. In some embodiments, an elastic band 203 with a fastener 206, such as hooks, is configured to secure the deployable mask to the user during use. For instance, the elastic band 203 may be connected and installed around the back of the user's neck or head area. In some embodiments, the elastic band 203 is adjustable. In other embodiments, the elastic band is fixed, and intended to fit most users. The elastic band may be attached to the sides of the mask, the front of the mask, center of the mask or any other location to secure the mask in position.
Now referring to FIGS. 8A-E, a second alternative headgear with a deployable mask is provided. In this embodiment, the headwear 300, such as a baseball hat, enables a deployable mask 301 to be pulled down via pull tab 302 from a storage location 303 positioned in the inner portion of the headwear. FIGS. 8B and 8C show the mask 302 being deployed. In some embodiments, as previously mentioned, the deployable mask 301 is attached to the headwear via a fastener 304 (fixed or removable) via the stretchable bands of the deployable mask.
It should be understood that any material mentioned herein, may be exchanged, modified, interchanged, etc. to accommodate personal preferences, user sizes, material availability, and optimal characteristics for the claimed components.
Although the invention has been described in considerable detail in language specific to structural features, it is to be understood that the invention defined in the appended claims is not necessarily limited to the specific features described. Rather, the specific features are disclosed as exemplary preferred forms of implementing the claimed invention. Stated otherwise, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein, as well as the abstract, are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting. Therefore, while exemplary illustrative embodiments of the invention have been described, numerous variations and alternative embodiments will occur to those skilled in the art. Such variations and alternate embodiments are contemplated, and can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
It should further be noted that throughout the entire disclosure, the labels such as left, right, front, back, top, bottom, forward, reverse, clockwise, counter clockwise, up, down, or other similar terms such as upper, lower, aft, fore, vertical, horizontal, oblique, proximal, distal, parallel, perpendicular, transverse, longitudinal, etc. have been used for convenience purposes only and are not intended to imply any particular fixed direction or orientation. Instead, they are used to reflect relative locations and/or directions/orientations between various portions of an object.
In addition, reference to “first,” “second,” “third,” and etc. members throughout the disclosure (and in particular, claims) are not used to show a serial or numerical limitation but instead are used to distinguish or identify the various members of the group.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A headwear comprising:

a head cover for at least partially covering head of a user of the headwear, wherein the head cover includes an inside surface and an outside surface;

a storage compartment on the inside surface of the head cover;

a deployable face mask positioned in the storage compartment;

a pair of stretchable bands attached to the head cover and the deployable face mask.

2. The headwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein the headwear is a baseball cap.

3. The headwear as claimed in claim 1, further comprising an elastic band configured to secure the deployable face mask to the user.

4. The headwear as claimed in claim 3, wherein the elastic band is attached to the deployable face mask and configured to be secured with a fastener around a back portion of the user's head or neck.

5. A baseball cap comprising:

a head cover for at least partially covering head of a user of the baseball cap, wherein the baseball cap is defined by a periphery, an inside surface and an outside surface;

a deployable face mask along at least a partial periphery; and

a pocket on the baseball cap, wherein the pocket is defined by a length and a width, wherein the deployable face mask is stored in the pocket in a stowed-away state.

6. The baseball cap as claimed in claim 5, wherein the pocket is configured to be accessed by a zipper.

7. The baseball cap as claimed in claim 5, wherein the deployable face mask is partially along the periphery.

8. The baseball cap as claimed in claim 5, wherein the deployable face mask is in one of a deployed state and the stowed-away state.

9. The baseball cap as claimed in claim 5, wherein the pocket is on the inside surface of the baseball cap.

10. The baseball cap as claimed in claim 5, wherein the pocket is along the periphery of the baseball cap.
