Abstract
A diaper insert has a liquid impermeable external surface, an inner surface, and an absorbency area adjacent the inner surface. The absorbency area has at least one absorbent layer. The diaper insert has a distal end, an attachment end, and a midsection between the distal end and attachment end. The midsection has opposing sides that are in general mirror images to one another about a vertical line. A width of the midsection is less than or equal to a width of the attachment end, and a width of the midsection is less than or equal to a width of the distal end.
Description
- This is a continuation of prior application Ser. No. 15/682,701, filed Aug. 22, 2017, entitled DIAPER SYSTEM AND FLAP, which claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 62/378,023, filed Aug. 22, 2016, each of which is hereby incorporated in its entirety by reference herein.
- The present invention relates to diaper systems and flaps. More specifically, the present invention relates to diaper systems and flaps designed to prevent leakage of bodily fluids.
- Diaper systems have long been used with children as a way of containing urine and excrement before a child begins to use a toilet. Diapers contain absorbent material to prevent a wearer from soiling outer garments. Diapers may also be utilized by adults or adolescents who are unable to use a toilet or may be incontinent.
- The following presents a simplified summary in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the invention. This summary is not an extensive overview of the invention. It is not intended to identify critical elements of the invention or to delineate the scope of the invention. Its sole purpose is to present some concepts of the invention in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented elsewhere.
- In one embodiment, a diaper system has a diaper having a front waist portion for being positioned proximate a wearer's abdominal area when fastened to the wearer and having a front edge, a rear waist portion having a rear edge, a central portion extending from the front waist portion to the rear waist portion, an interior surface, and an outer surface. The diaper system has a flap having an attachment end, a distal end, a midsection between the attachment end and the distal end, an inner surface, and an external surface. The attachment end is coupled to the outer surface. An absorbency area is adjacent the inner surface and has at least one absorbent layer. The midsection has a width that is less than or equal to a width of the distal end.
- In another embodiment, a diaper insert has a liquid impermeable external surface, an inner surface, and an absorbency area adjacent the inner surface, the absorbency area having at least one absorbent layer configured to interact with an inner surface of the diaper to form a barrier restricting leakage of bodily fluids. The diaper insert has a distal end, an attachment end, and a midsection between the two. The diaper insert narrows from the attachment end to the midsection. The midsection has a width that is less than or equal to a width of the distal end.
- In still another embodiment, an undergarment flap has an external surface, an inner surface adjacent an absorbency area, at least one absorbent layer adjacent the inner surface. The undergarment has an attachment end, a distal end, and a midsection between the attachment end and the distal end. The midsection has opposing sides that are generally mirror images to one another about a vertical line. A width of the midsection is less than or equal to a width of the attachment end and the width of the midsection is less than or equal to a width of the distal end.
- In yet another embodiment, a method for minimizing leakage of bodily fluids from exiting a diaper system is provided. A diaper to be worn by a wearer is unfolded. The diaper has a front waist portion for being positioned proximate a wearer's abdominal area, the front waist portion has a front edge. The diaper has a rear waist portion having a rear edge and a central portion extending from the front waist portion to the rear waist portion. The diaper further has an interior surface and an outer surface. Then, a flap is coupled to the outer surface of the diaper. The flap has an attachment end, a distal end, and a midsection between the attachment end and the distal end. The flap further has an inner surface, an external surface, and an absorbency area adjacent the inner surface. The absorbency area has at least one absorbent layer. The flap is then folded up and over into the interior surface of the diaper to form a first fold. The flap is folded again at the midsection to create a folded area and an accordion fold. The flap is folded such that the distal end is proximate the attachment end, and is also proximate the diaper. Lastly, the diaper and the flap are secured to the wearer using side fasteners. The front edge forms a seal with the wearer's abdominal area, and the rear edge forms a seal with the wearer's lower back.

diaper system 10 having adiaper 100 and aflap 200 may be configured to interact with a wearer to contain bodily fluids. As shown inFIG. 1 , thediaper 100 has afront waist portion 110, arear waist portion 130, acentral portion 150, aninterior surface 160, and anouter surface 170. Theflap 200 has anattachment end 210, adistal end 220, and amidsection 230 between theattachment end 210 anddistal end 220. Thediaper 100 may generally have an hourglass-shaped planar configuration, as shown inFIG. 1 . - The
front waist portion 110 may have afront edge 112 defining a top of thefront waist portion 114, and opposingsides rear waist portion 130 has arear edge 132 defining a top of therear waist portion 134, andopposing sides central portion 150 is between thefront waist portion 110 and therear waist portion 130. Thefront waist portion 110 may be positioned proximate the wearer's abdominal area when thediaper 100 is fastened to the wearer, and therear waist portion 130 may be positioned proximate the wearer's lower back when thediaper 100 is fastened to the wearer. -
Side fasteners 180 may be fixed to therear waist portion 130 proximate eachopposing side side fasteners 180 may be used to attach therear waist portion 130 to thefront waist portion 110. When theside fasteners 180 are engaged, thediaper 100 may be secured to the wearer. Theouter surface 170 of thediaper 100 is preferably liquid impermeable. Theinterior surface 160 may be absorbent, and may consist of at least oneabsorbent layer 162. Thediaper 100 may be disposable, reusable, or constructed from such materials as nonwoven plastic or cotton. - The
flap 200 is configured to be coupled to thediaper 100. Theflap 200 may be releasably coupled to thediaper 100, or theflap 200 may be securely coupled to thediaper 100. Moreover, theflap 200 may be coupled at a waist band of other types of undergarments, such as training pants, pull-ups, underwear, boxers, or a garter. - As shown in
FIG. 2 andFIG. 3 , theattachment end 210 has anedge 212 and aboundary 214 at themidsection 230. Thedistal end 220 also has anedge 222 and aboundary 224 at themidsection 230. Themidsection 230 has acenter point 232 that may also be a center point between thedistal end 220 and theattachment end 210. There may be a centerline (shown in a dashed line inFIG. 3 ) at thecenter point 232. Thedistal end 220 and theattachment end 210 may be mirror images of each other across the centerline. Theflap 200 further has afirst side 260 and asecond side 270, with a vertical line (not shown) bisecting theflap 200 between thefirst side 260 and thesecond side 270. In some embodiments, the twosides attachment end 210 and thedistal end 220 may be any shape, including, but not limited to, a trapezoid, rectangle, triangle, and semi-circle. In some embodiments, theattachment end 210 and thedistal end 220 may be shaped substantially similar, and may mirror one another. Those skilled in the art will also appreciate that theflap 200 may be any shape.FIG. 4 illustrates an embodiment of theflap 200 wherein theflap 200 is T-shaped.FIG. 5 illustrates an embodiment of theflap 200 wherein theflap 200 has a substantially hourglass configuration. In other embodiments, theflap 200 maybe I-shaped, as is shown inFIG. 2 andFIG. 3 . Theattachment end 210 may have a width approximately equal to a width of thefront edge 112. - In the I-shaped embodiments, and as shown in
FIG. 2 andFIG. 3 , thedistal end 220 has a substantially similar width to a width of theattachment end 210. A first and second side 260 a, 270 a of theattachment end 210 may be generally parallel to one another. The sides 260 a, 270 a may extend from the edge of theattachment end 212 to the boundary of theattachment end 214. The boundary of theattachment end 214 may be generally parallel with the edge of theattachment end 212, and may form a perpendicular angle with the sides 260 a, 270 a. Theattachment end boundary 214 may abut themidsection 230. In some embodiments, theattachment end boundary 214 may be perpendicular to themidsection 230. A width of themidsection 230 may be defined by a first side 260 b and a second side 270 b of themidsection 230. A first and second side 260 b, 270 b of themidsection 230 may be parallel to one another throughout themidsection 230. Themidsection 230 may abut thedistal end boundary 224, which may extend parallel to the edge of thedistal end 222. A first and second side 260 c, 270 c of thedistal end 220 may extend at a perpendicular angle from thedistal end boundary 214 toward the edge of thedistal end 212, and may be generally parallel each other. - In some embodiments, a width of the
flap 200 is the smallest between opposing sides 260 b, 270 b of themidsection 230. The width of theflap 200 may vary at different areas of theflap 200. The width of theflap 200 may narrow from theattachment end 210 toward themidsection 230. The width of theflap 200 may similarly narrow from thedistal end 220 toward themidsection 230. The width of theflap 200 at themidsection 230 may be less than or equal to a width of thecentral portion 150 of thediaper 100. In some embodiments, the width of themidsection 230 is less than or equal to the width of thedistal end 220. In other embodiments, the width of themidsection 230 is less than or equal to the width of theattachment end 210. - The
flap 200 has anexternal surface 240 and aninner surface 250. Theexternal surface 240 may be liquid impermeable. In some embodiments, for aesthetic purposes, theexternal surface 240 may have a pattern or other artistic decoration. Further, theexternal surface 240 may have a wetness indicator. Theexternal surface 240 may have an adhesion area 242 (shown inFIG. 2 ), and those skilled in the art will appreciate that theadhesion area 242 may utilize an adhesive material, glue, zipper, hook and loop fasteners, or other methods of attachment now known or later discovered. In some embodiments, theadhesion area 242 may utilize a pressure sensitive adhesive material proximate thedistal end boundary 224. Theadhesion area 242 may be at or proximate to themidsection 230. In some embodiments, theadhesion area 242 may be at thedistal end boundary 224 or theattachment end boundary 214. In other embodiments, theadhesion area 242 may be proximate theedge 222 of thedistal end 220. Theexternal surface 240 may be secured to itself at theadhesion area 242. Theflap 200 would still be able to move relative theadhesion area 242, and theadhesion area 242 may not restrict movement. In some embodiments, theadhesion area 242 is proximate thedistal end boundary 224 and adheres to theexternal surface 240 at theattachment end boundary 214. - The
inner surface 250 may be absorbent. In some embodiments, for aesthetic purposes, theinner surface 250 may have a pattern or other artistic decoration. Further, theinner surface 250 may have a wetness indicator. Theinner surface 250 may have at least oneattachment area 252 proximate theattachment end 210 of theflap 200. Theattachment area 252 may be configured to be coupled to theouter surface 170 of thediaper 100. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that theattachment area 252 may utilize an adhesive material, zipper, hook and loop fasteners, safety pins, plastic rivets, roll on glue, or other methods of attachment now known or later discovered. Further, theouter surface 170 of thediaper 100 may be configured to interact with theattachment area 252, and may also utilize an adhesive material, zipper, hook and loop fasteners, or other methods of attachment now known or later discovered. In some embodiments, theattachment area 252 may have a strip of pressure sensitive adhesive material that may be used to couple theflap 200 to thediaper 100. In other embodiments, theattachment area 252 may extend a width of theattachment end 210. In still other embodiments, theflap 200 1hasmultiple attachment areas 252. In some embodiments, theside fasteners 180 may be utilized to secure theflap 200 to thediaper 100. Alternately, theflap 200 may be secured to theouter surface 170 by an adhesive material. - The
attachment area 252 may be configured to couple to theouter surface 170 proximate thefront waist portion 110. Theattachment area 252 may be coupled to theouter surface 170 proximate thefront edge 112, and may extend a width of thefront edge 112. In other embodiments, theflap 200 may be configured to be coupled to theouter surface 170 of thediaper 100 proximate therear waist portion 130, and may further be coupled proximate therear edge 132. - It is foreseeable that the
flap 200 may be permanently fixed from theattachment end 210 to theouter surface 170 at thefront waist portion 110 of thediaper 100. Thediaper 100 andflap 200 may be a single, unitary construction. In those embodiments, theattachment area 252 and theouter surface 170 of thediaper 100 may be indistinguishable and theflap 200 may extend from thefront edge 112. In this configuration, when in use, theflap 200 may not extend up and over the top 114 of thediaper 100, but may extend downward towards thecentral portion 150 of thediaper 100. - The
flap 200 may have a planar configuration and a folded configuration (seeFIG. 6 ). Theflap 200 may be provided in either configuration. In the folded configuration, theflap 200 may be folded at themidsection 230 forming a foldedarea 234, which may act as a barrier. Theflap 200 may be folded proximate thecenter point 232 and, theinner surface 250 may be generally exposed, as is shown inFIG. 6 . In the folded configuration, thedistal end 220 may be proximate theattachment end 210. In some embodiments, thedistal end 220 may also be proximate thefront edge 112. In the folded configuration and when coupled to theouter surface 170 of thediaper 100, theflap 200 may form a Z-fold, as theflap 200 may be folded at afront edge 112 orrear edge 132 of thediaper 100, and again at the foldedarea 234. In other embodiments, theflap 200 could further be folded, creating a W-fold, or other accordion type folds. - At least a portion of the
inner surface 250 is adjacent to anabsorbency area 280. An area of theabsorbency area 280 may be more than half an area of theinner surface 250. In some embodiments, the area of theabsorbency area 280 may be generally similar (and in some embodiments, identical) to the entire area of theinner surface 250. In other embodiments, theabsorbency area 280 may be adjacent to theinner surface 250 except for a boundary of one half inch or less from anouter perimeter 202 of the flap 200 (seeFIG. 3 ). Theouter perimeter 202 of theflap 200 may be sealed against leakage such that theabsorbency area 280 is secured. Theouter perimeter 202 may be crimped, bonded, heat sealed, or sealed with another method now known or later discovered. In some embodiments, the edge of thedistal end 224 may be sealed against leakage, and may further have a water impermeable coating. In some embodiments, excess material from theouter surface 240 may extend up and over theedge 224 of thedistal end 220 such that thedistal end 220 is sealed against leakage. In other embodiments, theabsorbency area 280 may be adjacent to thedistal end 220 and themidsection 230. A first end of theabsorbency area 282 may be proximate the edge of thedistal end 222, and asecond end 284 may be proximate the boundary of theattachment end 214. In other embodiments, theabsorbency area 280 continues into theattachment end 210. A width of theabsorbency area 280 at theattachment end 210 may be equal to or less than a width of theabsorbency area 280 at themidsection 230. - The
absorbency area 280 has at least oneabsorbent layer 286. Theabsorbent layer 286 may help to absorb bodily fluids, and may expand and aid in restricting leakage. Theabsorbent layer 286 is positioned between theattachment end 210 and thedistal end 220. Theabsorbent layer 286 may extend a width of theflap 200. Alternately, theabsorbent layer 286 may extend a length of theflap 200. In some embodiments, theabsorbent layer 286 extends a width of thedistal end 220. Theabsorbent layer 286 may be configured to expand in an accordion-like fashion. - There may be different numbers of
absorbent layers 286 at different parts of theabsorbency area 280. In some embodiments, there are additionalabsorbent layers 286 proximate thedistal end 220. In other embodiments, there are additionalabsorbent layers 286 proximate themidsection 230, and theabsorbent layers 286 maybe further increased at the foldedarea 234. Theabsorbency area 280 may have multipleabsorbent layers 286 which may each be composed of a different material. It may be beneficial to have additionalabsorbent layers 286 at thedistal end 220, as well as additionalabsorbent layers 286 at themidsection 230. Further, there may be additionalabsorbent layers 286 at afirst end 284 of theabsorbency area 280. The placement of theabsorbent layer 286 may assist in efficiently pushing liquid toward areas that have not yet absorbed liquid. In this regard, the combination of thediaper 100 and theflap 200 may increase the overall efficiency and absorbency when compared to an absorbency of astandard diaper 100. In some embodiments, theabsorbent layer 286 maybe configured to expand in an accordion-like fashion. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that theabsorbent layer 286 may consist of absorbent gel, super absorbent polymers, absorbent fibers, wood pulp, or any other absorbent material now known or later discovered. - In some embodiments, and as shown in
FIG. 7 , theflap 200 may be configured to be coupled to theouter surface 170 of thediaper 100 proximate thefront edge 112. Coupling theflap 200 to thediaper 100 may aid in minimizing leakage. Further, theflap 200 may act as a barrier and provide additional absorbency. Theflap 200 may already be in a folded configuration, or theflap 200 may be substantially planar. As shown inFIG. 8 , theflap 200 may be coupled proximate thefront edge 112, and may then be folded up and over the top 114 of thefront waist portion 110 and into thediaper 100, forming a first fold. Theflap 200 may extend along theinterior surface 160 of thediaper 100 from thefront edge 112 to therear edge 132. If theflap 200 is not in the folded configuration, theflap 200 may then be folded at themidsection 230 to create the foldedarea 234, as is shown inFIG. 9 . In the folded configuration, thedistal end 220 may be proximate theattachment end 210, and proximate thefront edge 112. Theexternal surface 240 may be secured to itself at theadhesion area 242 to ensure that the folded configuration is maintained. Theflap 200 may have a Z-fold, as it may be folded up and over the top 114 of thefront waist portion 110, and folded again at the foldedarea 234. Therefore, theflap 200 may be configured to expand in an accordion-like fashion. Theinner surface 250 may be exposed to the wearer. Alternately, theflap 200 may be coupled to theinterior surface 160. Once theflap 200 is coupled to thediaper 100 and in the folded configuration, thediaper 100 may be worn by the wearer (seeFIG. 10 andFIG. 11 , the wearer not shown for clarity). - In some embodiments, the
flap 200 is reusable. Theabsorbency area 280 may be configured to be detached and replaced after each use. Alternately, theabsorbent layer 286 may be configured to be detached and replaced after each use. Those skilled in the art can appreciate that theabsorbency area 280 may be coupled to theflap 200 with an adhesive material, zipper, hook and loop fasteners, or other methods of attachment now known or later discovered. Alternately, theflap 200 may have an insert (not shown) configured to receive theabsorbency area 280. - In some embodiments, the
flap 200 may be provided by itself, as it may be beneficial for a user to attach theflap 200 to adiaper 100 instead of purchasingdiaper systems 10 that have theflap 200 pre-coupled to thediaper 100. A diaper insert and an undergarment flap are substantially similar to theflap 200 as described above, except they are not coupled to thediaper 100. - When in use, the
diaper 100 is secured to the wearer. Thefront edge 112 may be proximate an abdominal area of the user, and therear edge 132 may be proximate a lower back of the user. Thefront waist portion 110 may be secured to the wearer such that thefront edge 112 may form a seal with the wearer's abdominal area. Likewise, arear waist portion 130 may be secured to the wearer such that therear edge 132 may form a seal with the wearer's lower back. When thediaper 100 is secured to the wearer and the wearer shifts positions, it is foreseeable that the changing positions may cause gaps between the wearer and thediaper 100. For example, if the wearer were to place his legs over his head, or sleep on his stomach, this may cause a gap between thefront edge 112 and the wearer. Theflap 200 may allow the wearer to move more freely while thediaper system 10 maintains leakage protection. - In use, the
flap 200 may be attached to thediaper 100 and may be folded at the foldedarea 234. The foldedarea 234 may form a barrier between male genitalia of the wearer. The foldedarea 234 may be positioned below a waist of the wearer. Adistal end 220 may be proximate thefront edge 112 as shown inFIG. 11 , and if thediaper 100 is fastened to the wearer, thefront edge 112 may be secured tightly enough to the wearer such that thedistal end 220 is held in place proximate the wearer's abdominal area. Thedistal end 220 may form a barrier proximate thefront edge 112 such that fluids may be restricted from flowing upwards and out of thefront edge 112 of thediaper 100. Similarly, if theflap 200 is coupled proximate therear edge 132, thedistal end 220 may form a barrier proximate therear edge 132 such that fluids may be restricted from flowing upwards and out of therear edge 132 of thediaper 100. - The
flap 200 may be used with both male and female users. Male children may more easily urinate towards afront waist portion 110, and the urine may flow over the top 114 and out of thediaper 100. Theflap 200 may be positioned to assist in restricting leakage, as is illustrated inFIG. 12 . Often, a penis may be pointed in a downward position when anew diaper 100 is put on to attempt to prevent leakage and keep bodily fluids focused towards thecentral portion 150. However, the penis can easily shift to an upwards position, whereby bodily fluids may flow toward thefront waist portion 110. Theflap 200 may be positioned to absorb excess liquids proximate thefront edge 112 and at the foldedarea 234. In addition to acting as a barrier, theflap 200 may assist in directing liquid towards areas of theflap 200 anddiaper 100 that have not yet absorbed liquid, and may thereby increase the effectiveness of thediaper 100 to absorb liquid. Theabsorbency area 280 may be configured to receive urine from the wearer that may be relieving his bladder towards afront waist portion 110 of thediaper 100. As is shown inFIG. 13 , theabsorbency area 280 may expand as it absorbs liquid, and may assist to preventing leakage. The barrier may be formed at the top 114 of thefront waist portion 110 of thediaper 100. - Many different arrangements are possible without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Embodiments of the present invention are described herein with the intent to be illustrative rather than restrictive. Alternative embodiments will become apparent to those skilled in the art that do not depart from its scope. A skilled artisan may develop alternative means of implementing the disclosed improvements without departing from the scope of the present invention. Further, it will be understood that certain features and subcombinations are of utility and may be employed without reference to other features and subcombinations and are contemplated within the scope of the invention. The description should not be restricted to the specific described embodiments.
Claims (19)
1. A diaper system operable to be removably worn by a wearer, said diaper comprising:
a diaper including opposite front and rear waist portions and a central portion located between the front and rear waist portions,
said diaper presenting an interior surface that generally defines a diaper interior when the diaper is worn; and
an absorbent flap including an absorbent flap layer and presenting an inner surface,
said absorbent flap and a respective waist portion being formed with one another to cooperatively define at least part of a single, unitary construction,
said absorbent flap being folded relative to the respective waist portion so that the unitary construction defines an upper fold extending along the respective waist portion, with the flap extending downwardly from the upper fold along the interior surface of the diaper such that the absorbent flap layer is positioned at least partly below the upper fold and within the diaper interior and at least part of said inner surface of the flap faces the interior surface of the diaper.
2. The diaper system as claimed in claim 1 ,
said flap presenting a proximal end fixed to the respective waist portion and a midsection projecting from the proximal end.
3. The diaper system as claimed in claim 2 , said absorbent flap layer extending along the midsection.
4. The diaper system as claimed in claim 1 ,
said absorbent flap presenting an external surface opposite the inner surface, with at least part of the absorbent flap layer being located between the surfaces,
said external surface at least along the upper fold being liquid impermeable to restrict fluid leakage out of the diaper interior.
5. The diaper system as claimed in claim 1 ,
said flap projecting from said respective waist portion to a location spaced therefrom,
said location including the absorbent flap layer so as to form a barrier operable to block fluid flow out of the diaper interior along the respective waist portion.
6. The diaper system as claimed in claim 5 ,
said flap presenting proximal and distal ends and including a midsection extending between the proximal and distal ends,
said absorbent flap layer extending along at least part of the midsection,
said flap being folded at the location to form a midsection fold, with the barrier being defined by the midsection fold.
7. The diaper system as claimed in claim 6 ,
said inner surface of the flap presenting oppositely facing first and second portions extending from the midsection fold, with the first portion facing the interior surface of the diaper and the second portion facing the wearer when the system is worn,
said first and second portions of the inner surface being liquid permeable adjacent the midsection fold.
8. The diaper system as claimed in claim 6 ,
said absorbent flap presenting an external surface opposite the inner surface, with at least part of the absorbent flap layer being located between the surfaces,
said external surface presenting opposed first and second portions extending from the midsection fold,
said first and second portions of the external surface being attached to one another to maintain the midsection fold.
9. The diaper system as claimed in claim 8 ,
said absorbent flap including an adhesion area between the first and second portions of the external surface.
10. The diaper system as claimed in claim 6 ,
said flap presenting a width that varies between the proximal and distal ends, with the width of the midsection being relatively smaller than the width of at least one of the ends.
11. The diaper system as claimed in claim 10 ,
said proximal and distal ends presenting a substantially similar width,
said proximal and distal ends being adjacent one another.
12. The diaper system as claimed in claim 5 ,
said flap presenting a proximal end adjacent said respective waist portion,
said flap including a midsection projecting from the proximal end, with the width of the flap adjacent the proximal end being greater than the width of the midsection.
13. The diaper system as claimed in claim 5 ,
said absorbent flap presenting an external surface opposite the inner surface, with at least part of the absorbent flap layer being located between the surfaces,
said external surface at least along the upper fold being liquid impermeable to restrict fluid leakage out of the diaper interior.
14. The diaper system as claimed in claim 1 ,
said flap presenting a proximal end adjacent said respective waist portion,
said flap including a midsection projecting from the proximal end, with the width of the flap adjacent the proximal end being greater than the width of the midsection.
15. The diaper system as claimed in claim 14 ,
said flap presenting a distal end, with the midsection extending between the proximal and distal ends,
said flap being folded along the midsection to form a midsection fold,
said proximal and distal ends presenting a substantially similar width.
16. The diaper system as claimed in claim 15 ,
said proximal and distal ends being adjacent one another.
17. The diaper system as claimed in claim 14 ,
said width of the midsection being substantially constant between the proximal and distal ends.
18. The diaper system as claimed in claim 1 ,
said absorbent flap layer being positioned entirely below the upper fold and within the diaper interior.
19. The diaper system as claimed in claim 1 ,
said diaper and said flap cooperatively defining the unitary construction.
