  • The disclosure and prior art relates to leg coverings and more particularly pertains to a new leg covering for preventing motorcycle related leg burns.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pair of tubular leg sleeves each having an upper aperture, a lower aperture, a lateral side, and a medial side. Each of the pair of leg sleeves is configured to be worn by a user from the ankle to the knee. Each of the pair of leg sleeves comprises a plurality of layers configured to prevent burns from a motorcycle to the user's legs. A pair of stirrups is coupled to the pair of leg sleeves and is configured to pass underneath the user's feet and prevent the pair of leg sleeves from moving. Each of the pair of stirrups has a lateral end coupled to the lateral side adjacent the lower aperture and a medial end coupled to the medial side adjacent the lower aperture.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is an isometric view of a motorcycle thermal protective leg covering according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a front elevation view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure along line 3-3 of FIG. 2.
  • FIG. 4 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new leg covering embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the motorcycle thermal protective leg covering 10 generally comprises a pair of tubular leg sleeves 12 each having an upper aperture 14, a lower aperture 16, a lateral side 18, and a medial side 20. Each of the pair of leg sleeves 12 is configured to be worn by a user from the ankle to the knee. Each of the pair of leg sleeves 12 comprises a plurality of layers 22 and may further comprise an inner elasticized layer 24, a middle elasticized layer 26, a middle thermal resistant layer 28, and an outer thermal resistant layer 30. The inner elasticized layer 24 and the middle elasticized layer 26 allows the pair of leg sleeves to stretch and fit the user's legs snugly and comfortably. The middle thermal resistant layer 28 and the outer thermal resistant layer 30 have minimal thermal conductivity to prevent the transfer of heat through the pair of leg sleeves 12. The pair of leg sleeves 12 has a lower diameter 32 and an upper diameter 34 and tapers between the lower diameter 32 and the upper diameter 34 to create a more ergonomic fit. The lower diameter 12 is configured to conform to an ankle of the user and the upper diameter 34 is configured to conform to the calf of the user. The plurality of layers 22 is configured to prevent burns from a motorcycle 36 to the user's legs.
  • A pair of stirrups 38 is coupled to the pair of leg sleeves 12. Each of the pair of stirrups 38 has a lateral end 40 coupled to the lateral side 18 adjacent the lower aperture 16 and a medial end 42 coupled to the medial side 20 adjacent the lower aperture 16. Each of the pair of stirrups may elasticized. The pair of stirrups 38 is configured to pass underneath the user's feet and prevent the pair of leg sleeves 12 from moving.
  • In use, the user passes his feet through the upper aperture 14 and out the lower aperture 16 of each of the pair of leg sleeves 12 with the pair of stirrups 38 underneath his or her feet. The user may then mount, ride, and dismount the motorcycle 36 without worry of burning his or her legs.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
