Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an athletic glove, and particularly, relates to an athletic glove strengthened by applying a coating layer.
  • gloves In general, the effect and usage of gloves differ due to their applications in different fields. For example, athletic gloves are usually thick; their thickness provides buffers against the impact force generated by an incoming ball, thereby reducing chances of injury to the user's hand.
  • an athletic glove usually has a palm portion, and one end edge of the palm portion is formed with several finger portions and the other end edge of the palm portion is formed with an opening into which a user's hand could be inserted to wear the athletic glove.
  • the athletic gloves are commonly manufactured with a plurality of anti-slip protective cloths with processing steps including splicing, seaming, etc. More particularly, the processing steps are complicated and miscellaneous, leading to high manufacturing cost. Meanwhile, the splicing and seaming steps usually require intensive manpower. However, as the manufacturing personnel are often exhausted from long working hours or might be unfamiliar with the manufacturing procedures, it is often that the gloves ended up with poor seaming, thereby degrading the quality of the athletic gloves. Furthermore, the processing steps are time consuming but the yield rate is low. The above problems have become critical issues to the production and assembling of the athletic gloves.
  • the inventors of the present invention consider that it is necessary to further improve the conventional athletic gloves; therefore, the present invention is generated.
  • the main objective of the present invention is to provide an athletic glove strengthened by applying a coating layer, wherein the finger sleeve portions or the palm portion of the glove body are provided with improved structural strength by impregnating or coating a liquid elastic material, thereby effectively offsetting the impact force and the rotational force upon receipt of the ball, so as to prevent injury on finger knuckles when the user engages in a ball catching activity.
  • the athletic glove of the present invention includes: a glove body formed with a palm portion and a plurality of finger sleeve portions, wherein a front side of the glove body is a surface for an anterior part of a hand and a back side of the glove body is a surface for an posterior part of the hand, and the glove body is interwoven by a plurality of yarns; at least one coating layer applied on each of the finger sleeve portions, wherein the yarns and the coating layer are integrated with each other and at least one first elastic support portion is formed on the finger sleeve portions; and at least one first protective layer, wherein one side of the first protective layer is disposed at the front side of the glove body and the other side of the first protective layer has an anti-slip buffer layer.
  • the coating layer is applied on the glove body by impregnating or coating a liquid elastic material.
  • the liquid elastic material is a resin, polyurethane (PU) or polycarbonate (PC).

  • the coating layer is further applied on the palm portion and forms at least one second elastic support portion.
  • the coating layer comprises a colored elastic material.
  • a plurality of the first elastic support portions are circumferentially disposed around each of the finger sleeve portions and spaced apart from each other.
  • the first protective layer further has at least one cloth layer and at least one adhesive layer, wherein one side of the adhesive layer is adhered to the front side of the glove body and the other side of the adhesive layer is adhered to the cloth layer, and an outer side of the cloth layer is disposed with the anti-slip buffer layer.
  • the anti-slip buffer layer is a foam material or a latex material.
  • the athletic glove further includes a second protective layer, wherein the second protective layer has a same structure as the first protective layer, and the second protective layer is disposed at the back side of the glove body.
  • the first protective layer and the second protective layer are each formed with an extending fin at an outer periphery thereof, the second protective layer is disposed with a plurality of perforations piercing through the second protective layer, and the perforations are corresponding to the finger sleeve portions such that each of the finger sleeve portions is respectively exposed with at least one block which is an elastic deformation region.
