Abstract
Description
- This application claims the priority of China patent application No. 201820844513.4, filed on Jun. 1, 2018, which is incorporated herewith by reference.
- The present invention relates to an athletic glove, and particularly, relates to an athletic glove strengthened by applying a coating layer.
- In general, the effect and usage of gloves differ due to their applications in different fields. For example, athletic gloves are usually thick; their thickness provides buffers against the impact force generated by an incoming ball, thereby reducing chances of injury to the user's hand.
- Generally, an athletic glove usually has a palm portion, and one end edge of the palm portion is formed with several finger portions and the other end edge of the palm portion is formed with an opening into which a user's hand could be inserted to wear the athletic glove.
- In addition, the athletic gloves are commonly manufactured with a plurality of anti-slip protective cloths with processing steps including splicing, seaming, etc. More particularly, the processing steps are complicated and miscellaneous, leading to high manufacturing cost. Meanwhile, the splicing and seaming steps usually require intensive manpower. However, as the manufacturing personnel are often exhausted from long working hours or might be unfamiliar with the manufacturing procedures, it is often that the gloves ended up with poor seaming, thereby degrading the quality of the athletic gloves. Furthermore, the processing steps are time consuming but the yield rate is low. The above problems have become critical issues to the production and assembling of the athletic gloves.
- Observing the above-mentioned defects, the inventors of the present invention consider that it is necessary to further improve the conventional athletic gloves; therefore, the present invention is generated.
- The main objective of the present invention is to provide an athletic glove strengthened by applying a coating layer, wherein the finger sleeve portions or the palm portion of the glove body are provided with improved structural strength by impregnating or coating a liquid elastic material, thereby effectively offsetting the impact force and the rotational force upon receipt of the ball, so as to prevent injury on finger knuckles when the user engages in a ball catching activity.
- In order to achieve the above-mentioned objective, the athletic glove of the present invention includes: a glove body formed with a palm portion and a plurality of finger sleeve portions, wherein a front side of the glove body is a surface for an anterior part of a hand and a back side of the glove body is a surface for an posterior part of the hand, and the glove body is interwoven by a plurality of yarns; at least one coating layer applied on each of the finger sleeve portions, wherein the yarns and the coating layer are integrated with each other and at least one first elastic support portion is formed on the finger sleeve portions; and at least one first protective layer, wherein one side of the first protective layer is disposed at the front side of the glove body and the other side of the first protective layer has an anti-slip buffer layer.
- Preferably, the coating layer is applied on the glove body by impregnating or coating a liquid elastic material.
- Preferably, the liquid elastic material is a resin, polyurethane (PU) or polycarbonate (PC).
- Preferably, the coating layer is further applied on the palm portion and forms at least one second elastic support portion.
- Preferably, the coating layer comprises a colored elastic material.
- Preferably, a plurality of the first elastic support portions are circumferentially disposed around each of the finger sleeve portions and spaced apart from each other.
- Preferably, the first protective layer further has at least one cloth layer and at least one adhesive layer, wherein one side of the adhesive layer is adhered to the front side of the glove body and the other side of the adhesive layer is adhered to the cloth layer, and an outer side of the cloth layer is disposed with the anti-slip buffer layer.
- Preferably, the anti-slip buffer layer is a foam material or a latex material.
- Preferably, the athletic glove further includes a second protective layer, wherein the second protective layer has a same structure as the first protective layer, and the second protective layer is disposed at the back side of the glove body.
- Preferably, the first protective layer and the second protective layer are each formed with an extending fin at an outer periphery thereof, the second protective layer is disposed with a plurality of perforations piercing through the second protective layer, and the perforations are corresponding to the finger sleeve portions such that each of the finger sleeve portions is respectively exposed with at least one block which is an elastic deformation region.
- The athletic glove of the present invention allows the yarns and the coating layer to be integrated with each other by impregnating or coating a liquid elastic material, and the first elastic support portion is configured thereby. The first elastic support portion is formed on a tip section, a middle section or a connection section of the finger sleeve portions, or a combination of them. Therefore, the finger sleeve portions or the palm portion of the glove body are provided with improved structural strength to effectively offset the impact force and the rotational force upon receipt of the ball, so as to prevent injury on finger knuckles when the user engages in a ball catching activity.

FIGS. 1 to 5 ,FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 are the perspective views of the first embodiment of the present invention, andFIG. 3 ,FIG. 4 andFIG. 5 are the exploded perspective view, the partial cross-sectional view and the partial enlarged view of the first embodiment of the present invention, respectively. Theathletic glove 100 according to the present invention includes aglove body 10, acoating layer 20, a firstprotective layer 30 and a secondprotective layer 40. - The
glove body 10 is formed with apalm portion 11 and a plurality offinger sleeve portions 12, wherein a front side of theglove body 10 is a surface for an anterior part of a hand and a back side of theglove body 10 is a surface for an posterior part of the hand, and theglove body 10 is interwoven by a plurality ofyarns 13. According to this embodiment, theyarns 13 of theglove body 10 are elastic fibers such that theglove body 10 is stretchable. - The
coating layer 20 is applied on each of thefinger sleeve portions 12, wherein theyarns 13 and thecoating layer 20 are integrated with each other and at least one firstelastic support portion 21 is formed on thefinger sleeve portions 12. In this embodiment, thecoating layer 20 is applied on theglove body 10 by impregnating or coating a liquid elastic material, and the firstelastic support portion 21 is formed on atip section 121, amiddle section 122 or aconnection section 123 of thefinger sleeve portions 12, or on any combination thereof In this embodiment, as an example, theglove body 10 is impregnating with the liquid elastic material, and the firstelastic support portion 21 is formed on thetip section 121, themiddle section 122 and theconnection section 123 of thefinger sleeve portions 12. Furthermore, the liquid elastic material is a resin, polyurethane (PU) or polycarbonate (PC). In addition, thecoating layer 20 comprises a colored elastic material, such that the color of the firstelastic support portion 21 and the color of theglove body 10 may be the same or different. - One side of the first
protective layer 30 is disposed at the front side of theglove body 10 and the other side of the firstprotective layer 30 has ananti-slip buffer layer 31. According to this embodiment, the firstprotective layer 30 has the at least oneanti-slip buffer layer 31, at least onecloth layer 32 and at least oneadhesive layer 33. One side of theadhesive layer 33 is adhered to the front side of theglove body 10 and the other side of theadhesive layer 33 is adhered to thecloth layer 32. An outer side of thecloth layer 32 is disposed with theanti-slip buffer layer 31. According to the present invention, theanti-slip buffer layer 31 is a foam material or a latex material. In this embodiment, as an example, theanti-slip buffer layer 31 selected from the latex material, but the present invention is not limited thereto. - The second
protective layer 40 has a same structure as the firstprotective layer 30, and the secondprotective layer 40 is disposed at the back side of theglove body 10. - Referring to
FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 , in this embodiment, the firstprotective layer 30 and the secondprotective layer 40 are each formed with an extendingfin 34 at an outer periphery thereof The secondprotective layer 40 is disposed with a plurality ofperforations 42 piercing through the secondprotective layer 40. Theperforations 42 are corresponding to thefinger sleeve portions 12 such that each of thefinger sleeve portions 12 is respectively exposed with at least oneblock 14 which is an elastic deformation region. - For further comprehension to the technical features and the effects of the present invention, the usage of the present invention is described hereafter.
- Referring to
FIGS. 1 to 5 ,FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 are the perspective views of the first embodiment of the present invention, andFIG. 3 ,FIG. 4 andFIG. 5 are the exploded perspective view, the partial cross-sectional view and the partial enlarged view of the first embodiment of the present invention, respectively. As the firstelastic support portion 21 is formed on each of thefinger sleeve portions 12, when the athletic glove of the present invention is being used for ball catching, thefinger sleeve portions 12 receive normal impact force, and the firstelastic support portion 21 is fixed to be partially bent or not bent to support the user's finger individually, thereby preventing the fingers from being overly bent and injured. In addition, when the user is bearing at least one normal impact force and a lateral rotational force, the firstelastic support portion 21 is fixed to be partially bent toward left or right, or not bent. - By configuring the first
protective layer 30 on thepalm portion 11 and thefinger sleeve portions 12, forming aprotective buffer surface 35 on the surface for the anterior part of the hand at the front side of theglove body 10, configuring the firstprotective layer structure 30 with theanti-slip buffer layer 31, thecloth layer 32 and theadhesive layer 33, and configuration of the firstelastic support portion 21, the present invention provides athletic gloves which could reduce the impact force when receiving the ball, allowing the user to catch the ball more steadily. Meanwhile, the impact force and the rotational force upon receipt of the ball can be offset to prevent the finger knuckles from being injured. - More particularly, by integrating the
yarns 13 and thecoating layer 20 with each other through impregnating or coating a liquid elastic material to configure the firstelastic support portion 21, and configuration of the firstelastic support portion 21 and the firstprotective layer 30, the present invention provides a simple structure with easy operation and low manufacturing cost. Furthermore, the palm part, the finger part and/or the wrist part of the user can be effectively wrapped, thereby enhancing the flexibility and the touching acuity of the finger movement to protect the finger part. - Referring to
FIG. 6 ,FIG. 6 is an exploded perspective view of the second embodiment of the present invention. The difference between this embodiment and the first embodiment is that thecoating layer 20 is further applied on thepalm portion 11 and forms at least one secondelastic support portion 22. Therefore, this embodiment protects each finger of the user when the athletic glove is in use. Meanwhile, the secondelastic support portion 22 effectively prevents at least one normal impact force and a lateral rotational force from causing the user's palm to be bent or twisted. Therefore, the same effect as the first embodiment can also be achieved. - Referring to
FIGS. 7 and 8 ,FIGS. 7 and 8 are the exploded perspective view and the partial side view of the third embodiment of the present invention, respectively. According to this embodiment, thecoating layer 20 is further applied on theglove body 10 by impregnating and/or coating a liquid elastic material. As shown inFIG. 8 , thetip section 121 of each of thefinger sleeve portions 12 is formed with respective firstelastic support portion 21 by impregnating and/or coating a liquid elastic material, and themiddle section 122 and theconnection section 123 are each formed with at least one ring-shaped firstelastic support portion 21 by coating a liquid elastic material, and the ring-shaped firstelastic support portions 21 are spaced apart from each other. Therefore, although the firstelastic support portions 21 on each of thefinger sleeve portions 12 in this embodiment is implemented differently from the first embodiment, the same effect as the first embodiment can also be achieved. - It is noted that the extending
fin 34 is formed with a density greater than other parts of the firstprotective layer 30 and thesecond protection layer 40. More particularly, during long time ball-catching, since the ball will impact or rub against the extendingfin 34 having improved density and structural strength, the service life of the athletic glove is extended. - Furthermore, a plurality of the
blocks 14 are located at theglove body 10 correspondingly to the finger joints, so as to provide the user aglove body 10 with partial elasticity and improved comfort in use. - The features and achievable effects of the present invention are described as follows.
- According to the
athletic glove 100 of the present invention, theyarns 13 and thecoating layer 20 are integrated with each other by impregnating or coating a liquid elastic material, and the firstelastic support portion 21 is configured thereby. The firstelastic support portion 21 is formed on thetip section 121, themiddle section 122 or theconnection section 123 of thefinger sleeve portions 12, or a combination thereof. - Thereby, the present invention has the following beneficial effects.
- First, according to the present invention, the
finger sleeve portions 12 or thepalm portion 11 of theglove body 10 have improved structural strength by impregnating or coating a liquid elastic material. Therefore, when the user engages in ball catching activities, the impact force and the rotational force upon receipt of the call can be offset to prevent the finger knuckles from being injured. - Second, the present invention is advantageous in that it provides a simple structure with easy operation and low manufacturing cost. The
yarns 13 are interwoven by elastic fibers, effectively wrapping the palm part, the finger part and/or the wrist part of the user, thereby enhancing the flexibility and the touching acuity of the finger movement to protect the finger part. - Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments thereof, it is apparent to those skilled in the art that a variety of modifications and changes may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention which is intended to be defined by the appended claims.
