Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an improved fabric structure and, more particularly, to a novel fabric structure which include plural fabric layers knitted by yarns in different colors to create variable visible effects and enables a garment made thereof to promote esthetic effects.
  • one object of this invention is to provide a multi-color spacer fabric which include plural fabric layers knitted by yarns in different colors to create variable visible effects and enables a garment made thereof to promote esthetic effects.
  • one embodiment of the present invention provides a multi-color spacer fabric comprising a first fabric layer, a second fabric layer and a central fabric layer.
  • the first and second fabric layers are both made of yarns.
  • the central fabric layer is intertwined with the first fabric layer and the second fabric layer and formed of a plurality of wave-like fibers.
  • the first fabric layer has a color different from the second fabric layer.
  • the first fabric layer is arranged to have a relatively-dense region and a relatively-dilute region such the color of the second fabric layer is partially transparent through the central fabric layer and the portion of first fabric layer within the relatively-dilute region.
  • the multi-color spacer fabric comprises a first fabric layer, a second fabric layer and a central fabric layer.
  • FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view schematically showing a fabric structure according to one embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view schematically showing a garment made of the spacer fabric as illustrated in FIG. 1
  • FIG. 1 a cross-sectional view schematically showing a fabric structure according to one embodiment of the present invention.
  • the fabric structure 10 of the present invention includes an outer fabric layer 12 , an inner fabric layer 14 and a central fabric layer 16 .
  • the central fabric layer 16 is interposed between the outer fabric layer 12 and the inner fabric layer 14 .
  • the central fabric layer 16 consists of a plurality of wave-like fibers 160 .
  • the crests of the wave-like fibers 160 are intertwined with the outer fabric layer 12 .
  • the troughs of the wave-like fibers 160 are intertwined with the inner fabric layer 14 .
  • the words “crests” and “troughs” are employed to describe the spatial relationship of the outer and inner fabric layers as illustrated in FIG. 1 ; however, the usage of them are not construed to limit the scope of the present invention.
  • the outer fabric layer 12 can be knitted with a material selected from a group consisting of PET (polyethylene terephthalate), polyester, nylon, PU (polyurethane) or the like and any combination thereof.
  • the central fabric layer 16 can be knitted with a monofilament fiber or a multifilament fiber made of a material selected from a group consisting of PET (polyethylene terephthalate), polyester, nylon, PU (polyurethane) or the like and any combination thereof.
  • the inner fabric layer 14 can be substantially knitted with a material selected from a group consisting of PET (polyethylene terephthalate), polyester, nylon, PU (polyurethane) or the like and any combination thereof.
  • the outer fabric layer 12 and the inner fabric layer 14 are knitted in a weft knitting method or a warp knitting method.
  • a circular knitting method one kind of the weft knitting methods, can be employed to implement the novel fabric structure in accordance with the present invention.
  • the central fabric layer 16 is a spacer fabric to present a sandwich fabric knitted in a 3D knitting method and has a ripple-like appearance.
  • the wave-like fibers 160 which are used to form the central fabric layer 16 , can be monofilament fibers or multifilament fibers.
  • the outer fabric layer 12 and the inner fabric layer 14 is provided with a dense region and a dilute region.
  • the outer fabric layer 12 is arranged to feature a relatively-dense region 20 and a relatively-dilute region 22 .
  • the outer fabric layer 12 is formed by knitting yarns, as an example.
  • the yarn density within the relatively-dense region 20 is different from and greater than the yarn density within the relatively-dilute region 22 .
  • the density variation makes the outer fabric layer 12 appear patterns including, but not limited to, Jacquard, logos or other decorative designs.
  • the inner fabric layer 14 is preferably formed by knitting yarns, as an example.
  • the yarns used to implement the outer fabric layer 12 chooses a color different from the yams used to knit and form the inner fabric layer 14 .
  • the color of the inner fabric layer 14 can be partially transparent through the wave-like fibers 160 and the portion of the upper fabric layer 12 within the relatively-dilute region 22 so as to make it somewhat visible to a viewer from the outer fabric layer 12 .
  • the fabric structure 10 thus provide various appearances viewed from the outer fabric layer 12 once the fabric structure 10 is applied to a garment such as brassieres or dresses.
  • the inner fabric layer 14 is dominantly knitted with PU or nylon fibers, it has stretchability and mild stickiness because of the characteristics of PU or nylon material. Accordingly, the PU-contained or nylon-contained inner fabric layer 14 features superior stretchability, superior resilience, mild stickiness and slip-proofness. Once the fabric structure 10 is employed to make a brasserie, the inner fabric layer 14 can be in close contact with the skin of a wearer and will stay where it is supposed to be without slipping; otherwise, the wearer is subject to the embarrassment of having the bra shifted in position.
  • FIG. 2 An example of the fabric structure 10 to be used to make a brassiere is illustrated in FIG. 2 .
  • the wave-like central fabric layer 16 has a superior moisture permeation effect and a superior air permeation (heat dissipation) effect.
  • the inner fabric layer 14 if it is dominantly knitted with the PU or nylon fibers can feature stretchability and mild stickiness. Further, the mild stickiness makes the bra contact the skin intimately and unlikely to slip.
  • the garment made of the fabric structure 10 make the viewer thereof various esthetic effects.
