Abstract
Some embodiments advantageously provide a head cover to be worn by a wearer. In some embodiments, the head cover comprises a fabric having an opening at a first end and having a tail end, the fabric configured to fit over a head of the wearer and having a hole in proximity to the first end that is configured to receive a tail end of the fabric.
Description
- This Application claims priority of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62/469,493 filed Mar. 9, 2017, entitled “A Head Cover,” which is incorporated herein in its entirety for all purposes.
- This disclosure relates to head covers and in particular to head covers that fit snugly on the wearer's head.
- Bandanas are popular head covers that are popular to be worn by individuals such as motorcyclists. Typically, a bandana may be a rectangular swath of cloth that is wrapped around the forehead, with two corners pulled back and tied behind the head. However, having to tie and untie the bandanna is time consuming and inconvenient.
- Wool caps are also popular head covers but may not provide space for long hair or may ruin a hairstyle and also may blow off the head of a wearer riding a motorcycle.
- Some embodiments advantageously provide a head cover to be worn by a wearer. In some embodiments, the head cover comprises a fabric article having an opening at a first end and having a tail end, the fabric article configured to fit over a head of the wearer and having a hole in proximity to the first end that is configured to receive a tail end of the fabric article. In some embodiments, the fabric article is generally conical in shape that tapers from the opening at the first end to the tail end. Some embodiments may further include an elastic band at the first end to hold the head cover securely around a forehead of the wearer. In some embodiments, the hole is in proximity to the elastic band.
- A more complete understanding of the present embodiments, and the attendant advantages and features thereof, will be more readily understood by reference to the following detailed description when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 illustrates a side view of a head cover manufactured according to principles described herein; -
FIG. 2 illustrates a side view of a head cover manufactured according to principles described herein with the tail tucked through a hole in the back of the head cover; -
FIG. 3 illustrates a rear view of a head cover manufactured according to principles described herein with the tail tucked through a hole in the back of the head cover; and -
FIG. 4 illustrates a rear view of a head cover manufactured according to principles described herein. - Before describing in detail exemplary embodiments, it is noted that the embodiments reside primarily in combinations of apparatus components and processing steps related to use of a head cover. Accordingly, components have been represented where appropriate by conventional symbols in the drawings, showing only those specific details that are pertinent to understanding the embodiments so as not to obscure the disclosure with details that will be readily apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of the description herein.
- As used herein, relational terms, such as “first” and “second,” “top” and “bottom,” and the like, may be used solely to distinguish one entity or element from another entity or element without necessarily requiring or implying any physical or logical relationship or order between such entities or elements.
- Some embodiments provide a head cover that fits over the head of a human wearer and holds snugly to the wearer's forehead. When worn and viewed from the front of the wearer, the head cover may appear similar to a bandana. In some embodiments, the head cover has an elastic band that holds the head cover snugly to the wearer's head.
FIG. 1 is a side view of thehead cover 1 having anopening 2 at a lower end and atail 3 at an upper end of the head cover. Thetail 3 may be tucked into a hole 4 located at a rear of thehead cover 1 when worn. Anelastic band 5 may be sewed at the end where theopening 2 is located. -
FIG. 2 is side view of thehead cover 1 showing thetail 3 inserted through the hole 4 located just above theelastic band 5. Thus, the opening 2 fits over the head of the wearer and thetail 3 is tucked through the hole 4 to be pulled as tight as the wearer finds comfortable. -
FIG. 3 is a rear view of thehead cover 1 showing thetail end 3 tucked through the hole 4 located just above theelastic band 5. In some embodiments, the hole 4 is located in theelastic band 5. -
FIG. 4 is a rear view of thehead cover 1 with thetale end 3, the tail tuck hole 4 and theelastic band 5. Note that in some embodiments, a seam 6 may be present. In other embodiments, there is no seam present. - In some embodiments, the
head cover 1 may resemble a sock. In some embodiments, thetail 3 may hold the hair of the wearer so that the hair is not blown and is kept neat while wearing thehead cover 1. Thus, a user may tuck his or her hair into thetail end 3 and then pass thetail end 3 through the tail tuck hole 4. An advantage of some embodiments is that there is no need to tie ends to make the head cover fit snugly, as is the case for a bandana. In some embodiments, the fabric article forming the head cover may include wool, cotton, leather, or synthetic fabric such as nylon. - It will be appreciated by persons skilled in the art that the embodiments described herein are not limited to what has been particularly shown and described herein above. In addition, unless mention was made above to the contrary, it should be noted that all of the accompanying drawings are not to scale. A variety of modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teachings.
