Description

    CROSS REFERENCE TO OTHER APPLICATIONS
  • This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 61/749,462 filed on Jan. 7, 2013.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of Invention
  • The present invention relates to an interchangeable hat cover that slips over a conventional hat.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • A hat or cap usually provides full headgear that's used to cover an individual's head. The traditional hat or cap may be worn for protection, worn for ceremonial purposes, safety or as a fashion accessory. Certain professions such as police, firemen, military, athletes and other government officials use some specific caps or hats which may relate to certain aspects of their profession. The traditional cap is a form of headgear that includes a bill with a fitted covering that is placed directly on the head of the individual. The bill or brim extends forward and provides shading for the eyes of the individual. The conventional cap associated with a bill is usually shaped as a baseball cap, which includes many forms and styles. Sometimes the typical baseball-style cap is customized for a particular team or styled in a manner for a particular affiliation with a group or event. Further the traditional cap is also sold in various styles and consequently an individual may have several caps of several different styles.
  • One drawback to having various styles, an individual may accumulate various caps which consequently need to be stored when not in use. Further one may need or desire to change various styles based upon desires, environment or conditions. Consequently it would be advantageous to have a convenient manner to decorate and customize a baseball cap with various styles as desired by the user.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an interchangeable cap cover comprising: a decorative outer cover; a first means for attachment along an inner perimeter of the outer cover; and a second means for attachment along an outer perimeter of an adjoining cap, which adjoins the outer cover to the adjoining cap. The respective means for attachment may include either a hook and loop connector or snap fasteners.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
  • The present invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways.
  • FIG. 1 depicts a cap in accordance with the present invention.
  • FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C depict various stylized cap covers used in conjunction with the cap in FIG. 1.
  • FIGS. 3A, 3B and 3C depict stylized cap covers in accordance with the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The present invention relates to a stylized cap cover used in conjunction with traditional cap with a bill. The stylish cap cover may be conveniently placed over the cap according to the present invention through the use of a means of attachment such as a hook and loop fastening strip on the inside of the cap or snap fasteners. The fasteners provided on the cap cover allow the user to slide the cover over the cap to provide an outer decorative stylized cover. The cap cover covers the cap that is held firm in place through the means of attachment provided on the inside of the cap and bill provided on the cap.
  • In reference to FIG. 1, a cap 100 in accordance with the present invention is depicted. A first means for attachment 32 is provided on an outer perimeter of the cap 100. Further extending from the cap 100 is a bill 20. A first cap cover 30 is shown over the cap 100. The second means for attachment 22 on the inside perimeter of the first cap cover 30 provides a connection means for placement of a stylized cover. The first and second means for attachment may include either a hook and loop fastener or a snap fasteners.
  • FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C depict various stylized cap covers in accordance with the present invention. A second cap cover 40 is shown in FIG. 2A, a third cap cover 50 is shown in FIG. 2B and a fourth cap cover stylized cap 60 is shown in FIG. 2C. Each cap cover 40, 50 and 60 include a means for attachment such as a hook and loop fastener that adjoins the cap cover with the cap 100. By the using the means for attachment a user may provide a unique look for each cap style shown in FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C.

The cap covers may be adorned with flowers, jewels, buttons, bows or buckles as depicted. However the present invention is not limited to these particular styles depicted. An individual may create various styles for the cap cover provided and therefore create a different cap as designed. The cover helps an individual to create these various styles. The cap and various cap covers provide the user with various designs and styles for one individual cap that are easily interchangeable. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
