Abstract

A reinforcing structure for a sidewall around a bottle lip is disclosed. The sidewall is a shoulder in an upper part of a bottle body that has the bottle lip atop the shoulder. The reinforcing structure is such formed that the shoulder is a chamfered rectangular structure in a direction parallel to a width of the bottle body, and four vertical lateral faces support the bottle lip from blow. A slope is formed at a corner between any two adjacent lateral faces and has a downward-narrowed facade. All of the lateral faces and the slopes are plane and flat in geometry. Each of the lateral faces has a downward-widened facade defined by the slopes flanking it from two sides, while each of the lateral faces has an upper edge thereof locationally close to the base of the bottle lip. The reinforcing structure structurally strengthens the shoulder.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Technical Field
  • The present invention relates to bottles, and more particularly to a bottle with a reinforcing structure for the sidewall around its bottle lip.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • FIG. 5 depicts a conventional bottle that has a bottle body 91, a shoulder 92 in its upper part, and a bottle lip 93 formed at the top of the shoulder 92 of the bottle body 91 for objects to be put into the bottle body 91 therethrough for storage. The shoulder 92 is roughly a chamfered rectangular structure when seen from above and has four lateral faces 94 supporting the bottle lip 93 from below. A rounded connecting part 95 is formed at the corner between any two adjacent lateral faces 94, and each said lateral face 94 has is upper edge 941 located lower than the base 931 of the bottle lip 93.
  • In use, many of the aforementioned bottles may be stacked vertically with contents contained in the bottle bodies 91 thereof. However, it is found in practice that such a conventional bottle is somehow disadvantageous because its bottle body 91 is structurally weak at the shoulder 92. Particularly, the rounded connecting parts 95 can sink when the bottle receives heavy downward load at its top, leading to deformation at the shoulder 92. Hence, there is a need for improvement in the prior art.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to address the foregoing problem by providing a reinforcing structure for a sidewall around a bottle lip. The bottle has its bottle body atop provided with a plurality of lateral faces and slopes that form a sidewall with better structural strength, so as to prevent the bottle from sinking and deformation when it receives a heavy downward load.
  • For achieving the foregoing objective, the present invention provides a reinforcing structure for a sidewall around a bottle lip. The sidewall is a shoulder in an upper part of a bottle body that has the bottle lip atop the shoulder. The reinforcing structure is such formed that the shoulder is a chamfered rectangular structure in a direction parallel to a width of the bottle body, and four vertical lateral faces support the bottle lip from below.
  • Therein, each said lateral face is angularly jointed to the slopes at the two sides thereof by round corners.
  • Therein, the bottle body has a part below the shoulder formed as a chamfered rectangular structure conforming to the shoulder.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a bottle according to one preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 is a top view of the bottle.
  • FIG. 3 is a side view of the bottle.
  • FIG. 4 is another side view of the bottle.
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a conventional bottle.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Referring to FIG. 1 through FIG. 4, the mode and preferred embodiment shown are for illustrating the present invention only and shall form no limitation the scope of the present invention, which is solely defined by the appending claims.
  • In the present invention, a reinforcing structure for a sidewall around a bottle lip, as in one preferred embodiment shown in FIG. 1, has the bottle lip and the sidewall forming a part of a bottle. In particularly, the bottle has a bottle body 1 in whose upper part a shoulder 2 is formed. The bottle body 1 further has a bottle lip 3 formed on the top of the shoulder 2. Referring to FIG. 1 through FIG. 4, as a part of the reinforcing structure, the shoulder 2 is roughly a chamfered rectangular structure in the direction parallel to the width of the bottle, as shown clearly in the top view of FIG. 2. In other words, there are four vertical lateral faces 21 supporting the bottle lip 3 from below. A slope 22 is formed at the corner between any two adjacent lateral faces 21. The slope 22 has a downward-narrowed facade. All of the lateral faces 21 and the slopes 22 are plane and flat in geometry. Each of the lateral faces 21 has a downward-widened facade defined by the slopes 22 flanking it from two sides. Each of the lateral faces 21 has its upper edge 211 locationally close to the base 31 of the bottle lip 3.
  • As shown in FIG. 1 through FIG. 4, the bottle body 1 has its part 4 below the shoulder 2 being formed as a chamfered rectangular structure conforming to the shoulder 2. However, the part 4 below the shoulder 2 may be a columnar structure or of other shape not conforming to the shoulder 2 instead of the chamfered rectangular structure. In addition, in another preferred embodiment, each said lateral face 21 and the slopes 22 at its two sides are angularly connected by round corners.
  • With the disclosed reinforcing structure, the bottle body 1 has the shoulder 2 is roughly a chamfered rectangular structure in the direction parallel to the width of the bottle, and there are four vertical lateral faces 21 supporting the bottle lip 3 from below, with the slope 22 formed at the corner between any two adjacent lateral faces 21. Since the lateral faces 21 and the slopes 22 are plane and flat in geometry while each said slope 22 has a downward-narrowed facade so that each said lateral face 21 has a downward-widened facade defined by the slopes 22 flanking it from two sides, and each of the lateral faces 21 has its upper edge 211 locationally close to the base 31 of the bottle lip 3, the disclosed structure effectively reinforces the shoulder 2. As compared to the conventional bottle, when the same load in applied downward at the bottle lip 3, the sidewall of the bottle lip of the present invention is much stronger and much less likely to sink thanks to the reinforcing structure, thereby protecting the vertically stacked bottle bodies from deformation.
