Description
- The current application claims a priority to the U.S. Provisional Patent application Ser. No. 62/518,708 filed on Jun. 13, 2017.
- The present invention relates generally to devices for making cosmetic ingredients. More specifically, the present invention is a cosmetic personalization system which allows users to make their own cosmetics through the melting, pressing, or emulsifying of cosmetic material and/or other similar substances and compartments.
- A lipstick, blush, eye shadow, or eye-liner is a common form of makeup. People usually resort to purchasing cosmetics from companies. There are also people who choose to make their own cosmetics such as lipstick, eye shadow using cosmetic ingredients and other substances. This requires the melting of the cosmetic material or other substances to make a new custom cosmetic. There are many methods to accomplish this, but not all these methods are safe, or they require the use of a microwave which is not good for the substances being used to make a new custom cosmetic.
- It is therefore an objective to provide a cosmetic personalization system which allows users to make their own cosmetics through the melting, pressing, or emulsifying of cosmetic ingredients or other similar substances using a steam heating device, a powder-press, or similar cosmetic-making tools. The melted cosmetic material or other substances may be combined with other substances to add fragrance and the melted combined substance is molded into a new custom cosmetic. Using a water container and heating element to melt the lipstick is better for the raw ingredients required to make a custom cosmetic.

- In reference to
FIGS. 1 through 7 , the present invention is a cosmetic personalization system which allows users to make their own cosmetics through the melting, pressing, or emulsifying of cosmetic material and/or other similar substances and compartments. The present invention comprises amain housing 1, a plurality ofcompartments 7, and a cosmetic-melting device 10. Themain housing 1 provides a structural body to support the plurality ofcompartments 7 and the cosmetic-melting device 10. The plurality ofcompartments 7 stores cosmetic materials, the cosmetic-melting device 10, and any additional cosmetic accessories. Each of the plurality ofcompartments 7 is a drawer-type compartment sized and designed to fit within themain housing 1. The cosmetic-melting device 10 allows the user to melt and mix cosmetic material in order to make a custom cosmetic such as, but not limited to, lipstick, blush, cream, or powder. - The general configuration of the aforementioned components allows the user to store cosmetic material and/or similar substances and to make custom cosmetics through the melting of cosmetic material and/or similar substances by the cosmetic-
melting device 10. With reference toFIG. 1 , the plurality ofcompartments 7 comprises aprimary compartment 8 and a plurality ofsecondary compartments 9. Theprimary compartment 8 is sized larger than a singular compartment of the plurality ofsecondary compartments 9. Theprimary compartment 8 is used to store devices for making cosmetics and the plurality ofsecondary compartments 9 is used to store cosmetic materials and/or other similar substances. Themain housing 1 comprises atop sidewall 2, abody portion 4, a first central cavity 6, and abottom sidewall 3. Thebody portion 4 is preferably a tubular structure. Thetop sidewall 2 is terminally and perimetrically connected to thebody portion 4 and thebottom sidewall 3 is terminally and perimetrically connected to thebody portion 4, opposite thetop sidewall 2. This arrangement forms an enclosed space between thetop sidewall 2 and thebottom sidewall 3. With reference toFIG. 6 , the first central cavity 6 of themain housing 1 laterally traverses into thebody portion 4. This arrangement allows the plurality ofcompartments 7 to be properly positioned with themain housing 1. The plurality ofcompartments 7 is linearly distributed along avertical axis 5 of thebody portion 4. Each of the plurality ofcompartments 7 is slidably mounted within thebody portion 4 through the first central cavity 6. This arrangement allows the plurality ofcompartments 7 to be accessed by sliding a corresponding compartment from within thebody portion 4 similar to a dresser with drawer compartments. Theprimary compartment 8 is positioned adjacent to thebottom sidewall 3. The plurality ofsecondary compartments 9 is positioned adjacent to theprimary compartment 8, opposite the bottom side wall. This arrangement allows plurality ofcompartments 7 to be positioned where theprimary compartment 8 weighs down themain housing 1 by the devices placed within theprimary compartment 8. The cosmetic-melting device 10 is situated within theprimary compartment 8. This arrangement allows the user to access the cosmetic-melting device 10 from themain housing 1 safely when the user desires to melt cosmetic material accessed from the plurality ofsecondary compartments 9. - As seen in
FIG. 1 , the present invention may further comprise a plurality ofhandles 18. The plurality ofhandles 18 provides a gripping element in order to easily open or close the plurality ofcompartments 7. Each of the plurality ofhandles 18 is laterally and externally mounted to a corresponding compartment of the plurality ofcompartments 7. This arrangement allows a handle of the plurality ofhandles 18 to be easily grasped when the user desires to open or close a corresponding compartment. - With reference to
FIGS. 4 and 5 , the cosmetic-melting device 10 uses conduction in order to safely melt cosmetic ingredients into a malleable liquid for molding and reshaping. The cosmetic-melting device 10 comprises a main container 11, aheating sheet 17, and amixing container 15. The main container 11 may preferably be a cylindrical structure and houses themixing container 15 and theheating sheet 17. The main container 11 can be composed of any material. Theheating sheet 17 provides a heating element to heat the main container 11 in order to melt cosmetic material which is placed inside themixing container 15. In further detail, theheating sheet 17 may be a laminated sheet composed of highly conductive material and can generate heat. Themixing container 15 is used to receive cosmetic material that the user desires to melt and combine. The main container 11 comprises a top portion 12, a secondcentral cavity 13, and a heating portion 14. The main container 11 is situated within theprimary compartment 8. The top portion 12 is a cap that is used to enclose the heating portion 14 to delineate a heating well. For this, the heating portion 14 is preferably filled with a liquid such as, but not limited to, water. The top portion 12 and the heating portion 14 are adjacently attached to each other. This arrangement allows the user to freely detach or attach the top portion 12 from or to the heating portion 14 when desired. The secondcentral cavity 13 normally traverses through the top portion 12. Theheating sheet 17 converts electrical energy into thermal energy to raise the temperature of cosmetic material, thus melting the cosmetic material. As such, theheating sheet 17 is positioned within the heating portion 14. More specifically, theheating sheet 17 is laterally connected to an inner surface of the heating portion 14. This arrangement allows theheating sheet 17 to uniformly heat the interior of the heating portion 14 in order to heat any liquid which is placed inside of the heating portion 14. The mixingcontainer 15 is a receptacle for cosmetic material. The mixingcontainer 15 is positioned within the heating portion 14 and positioned concentric with the secondcentral cavity 13. This arrangement allows the mixingcontainer 15 is be conductively heated inside of the heating portion 14 by theheating sheet 17 in order to melt the cosmetic material placed inside the mixingcontainer 15. Arim 16 of the mixingcontainer 15 is adjacently attached to the top portion 12. This arrangement allows the user to freely attach or detach the mixingcontainer 15 to or from the top portion 12 when desired. The heating portion 14 may include a fluid-receiving opening which allows the user to externally fill the heating portion 14 with a fluid such as water. The fluid-receiving opening may be integrated into the heating portion 14 and may include a cap which allows the user to close off or reveal the fluid-receiving opening. - With reference to
FIG. 7 , the present invention may further comprise athermostat device 19. Thethermostat device 19 allows the user to control and measure the temperature within the heating portion 14. Thethermostat device 19 comprises acontrol panel 20 and a temperature. Thecontrol panel 20 may include a display and a user interface which allow a user to view and control the temperature of the heating portion 14. Thetemperature sensor 21 allows thethermostat device 19 to measure the temperature within the heating portion 14. Thecontrol panel 20 is externally mounted to the main container 11. Thecontrol panel 20 is electronically connected to theheating sheet 17 and thetemperature sensor 21. This arrangement allows the user to easily access thecontrol panel 20 and to control the temperature within the heating portion 14 through theheating sheet 17 and thetemperature sensor 21. Thetemperature sensor 21 is positioned within and mounted laterally to the heating portion 14. This arrangement allows the temperature to accurately measure the temperature within the heating portion 14. - With reference to
FIGS. 4 and 5 , the present invention may further comprise a mixingassembly 22. The mixingassembly 22 allows the user to stir the cosmetic material placed inside the mixingcontainer 15 while the cosmetic-meltingdevice 10 is melting the cosmetic material to make a more homogenous mixture. The mixingassembly 22 comprises ahandle 23 and anelongated stirrer 24. Thehandle 23 acts as the gripping element for the user to externally rotate the stirrer. Thehandle 23 is terminally connected to theelongated stirrer 24. Theelongated stirrer 24 is positioned concentric within the secondcentral cavity 13. Adistal end 25 of theelongated stirrer 24 is positioned within the mixingcontainer 15, thus engaging or contact the melting solution/material. This arrangement allows theelongated stirrer 24 to mix the cosmetic material placed inside the mixingcontainer 15. Thehandle 23 is positioned adjacent to the top portion 12 and terminally connected to theelongated stirrer 24, opposite thedistal end 25. This arrangement allows the user to easily access thehandle 23 to externally rotate theelongated stirrer 24 to mix the cosmetic material placed inside the mixingcontainer 15. - The present invention may further include a power source. The power source may be a battery, or a cable connected to an outlet that will provide power to the cosmetic-melting device. The power source is mounted within the
primary compartment 8 and electrically connected to the cosmetic-meltingdevice 10. This arrangement allows themain housing 1 to provide power to the cosmetic-meltingdevice 10. - With reference to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , the present invention may further comprise afirst recession 27, apestle 29, and amortar 28. Thefirst recession 27 provides a receiving area for themortar 28. Thepestle 29 and themortar 28 allow the user to emulsify cosmetic material. Thefirst recession 27 is positioned within theprimary compartment 8 and normally traverses into theprimary compartment 8. Themortar 28 is situated within thefirst recession 27. This arrangement allows the user to properly store themortar 28 inside theprimary compartment 8. Thepestle 29 is situated within themortar 28 in order to keep thepestle 29 in place inside of theprimary compartment 8. - With reference to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , the present invention may further comprise a coolingmold base 30, a plurality of coolingmolds 31, and a plurality ofcavities 32. The coolingmold base 30 provides a receptacle to hold each of the plurality of coolingmolds 31. The plurality of coolingmolds 31 provides a means to cool and shape melted cosmetic material into cosmetics such as, but not limited to, lipstick. The plurality ofcavities 32 provides voids to receive each of the plurality of coolingmolds 31. The coolingmold base 30 is mounted within theprimary compartment 8. This arrangement allows the coolingmold base 30 to be properly secured within theprimary compartment 8. The plurality ofcavities 32 traverses into the coolingmold base 30. Each of the plurality ofcavities 32 is oriented normal to thebottom sidewall 3 and each of the plurality of coolingmolds 31 is slidably positioned within a corresponding cavity of the plurality ofcavities 32. This arrangement allows each of the plurality of coolingmolds 31 to be kept in place when inside of theprimary compartment 8. Each of the plurality of coolingmolds 31 may include a lid to seal of the cooling mold. The lid may include a magnet. A lipstick tube may be magnetically connected to a cooling mold of the plurality of coolingmolds 31 through the lid. The lipstick tube may include a rotating mechanism or push mechanism allowing the user to move material within the cooling mold upwards or downwards. - With reference to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , the present invention may further comprise a powder-pressingdevice 33. The powder-pressingdevice 33 allows the user to press cosmetic material into a powder form. The powder-pressingdevice 33 is situated within theprimary compartment 8. This allows the user to freely access the powder-pressingdevice 33 from theprimary compartment 8 when the user desires to press cosmetic material into a powder form in order to recycle cosmetic material to make a new cosmetic or to make a powder-type cosmetic. - As seen in
FIG. 1 , the present invention may further comprise acosmetic color wheel 34. Thecosmetic color wheel 34 allows the user to match colors of cosmetics, made while using the present invention, to colors which are represented on thecosmetic color wheel 34. Thecosmetic color wheel 34 guides the user to properly produce a desired color when making a cosmetic. Thecosmetic color wheel 34 is positioned adjacent to thetop sidewall 2, opposite thebody portion 4 and connected adjacent to thetop sidewall 2. This arrangement allows the user to easily view thecosmetic color wheel 34 when making cosmetics through the present invention because thecosmetic color wheel 34 is positioned directly in front of the user's face when working with the present invention. - As seen in
FIG. 1 , the present invention may further comprise acover 35 and amirror 36. Thecover 35 protects and encases themirror 36. Themirror 36 provides a reflective element which allows the user to view his or her reflection when wearing or trying on cosmetics made using the present invention. Thecover 35 is positioned adjacent to thetop sidewall 2 and hingedly connected to thebody portion 4. This allows thecover 35 to be opened or closed through the hinged connection. Themirror 36 is positioned in between thecover 35 and thetop sidewall 2 and adjacently connected to thecover 35. This allows themirror 36 to be protected by thecover 35 and to be exposed when thecover 35 is opened through the hinged connection. - As seen in
FIG. 1 , the present invention may further comprise a plurality oflights 37. The plurality oflights 37 may be any type of illumination device such as, but not limited to, LED lights which allows the user to have enough lighting when viewing his or her reflection through themirror 36. The plurality oflights 37 is distributed about themirror 36 in order to provide enough and a uniformly lighting. The plurality oflights 37 is mounted to themirror 36 in order for the plurality oflights 37 to be kept in place when the user uses themirror 36. - The present invention will include a manual/guide providing the user methods of how to properly mix colors to obtain a new color. The manual/guide will include various color combinations allowing the user to make a new, custom cosmetic with a desired color. The manual/guide will also provide methods allowing the user to produce various combinations of cosmetics where a fragrance may be different, and the gloss may be different. The manual/guide will be an aid for the user to make a new, custom cosmetic. The user can mix the substances/ingredients in any manner to obtain a unique cosmetic composition.
- Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
