Description
- The present application is related to and claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62/514,741 filed Jun. 2, 2017, which is incorporated by reference herein in its entirety.
- The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present disclosure. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art nor material to the presently described or claimed inventions, nor that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
- The present invention relates generally to the field of hair accessories and more specifically relates to a head covering.
- Many people enjoy styling their hair. Hair styling refers to the styling of hair, usually on the human scalp. The fashioning of hair can be considered an aspect of personal grooming, fashion, and cosmetics, although practical, cultural, and popular considerations also influence some hairstyles. Hair styles can be achieved by using clip-in hair pieces, wigs or tools such as blow dryers, brushes, and curlers to achieve a desired look. Women with thinning hairlines and balding edges may choose to wear a wig or weave. Women may accidentally lose their wig if it is not held in place with numerous hairpins. Placing excessive amounts of pins in the hair can be uncomfortable. Some people may use glue in order to hold a weave which can be harmful to the hair and skin. An effective alternative is needed.
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,806,535 to Goldia L. Becker relates to foundations for head coverings. The described foundations for head coverings includes a head covering foundation article for carrying a head covering, such as a wig, includes a stretchable net-like head band having a circumference approximately equal to the circumference of the head. The band is stretchable circumferentially and between top and bottom edges thereof to conform with the shape of the head of the person. The band top edge has a diameter less than the bottom edge. Each circumferential elasticized reinforced band edge includes an elasticized strip having loops adapted to be gripped by hook fabric fasteners of the VELCRO type on the head covering. The head covering comprises assemblies with hair extending upwardly and downwardly from both of the strips to simulate nape, forehead and crown hair. A scarf wrapped around the foundation article conceals the foundation article.
- In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known hair accessories art, the present disclosure provides a novel hair band device. The general purpose of the present disclosure, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a hair band for the crown of the head. The device helps support thinning edges allowing a user to wear a full head sew in weave or crochet hair without showing bald edges or a thinning hairline.
- A hair band device is disclosed herein. The hair band device includes a head covering assembly including a headband and a securing band. The headband is configured to wrap around a crown of a head of a user-wearer. The securing band configured to wrap around a nape of a neck of a user-wearer secure the headband to the head of the user-wearer. The first-end of the headband is fixed to a first-securing-band-end of the securing band and a second-end of the headband is fixed to a second-securing-band-end of the securing band. The hair band device provides a foundation for securing a hair-piece to the head of the user-wearer and conceals baldness during an in-use condition. The present invention may give those with thinning edges and a weak crown hope of wearing a full-frontal weave or crochet covering the whole cranium of the head without showing embarrassing bald edges or bold spots on the top of the head. The device provides a flush tight fit without moving on a head of a user.
- A method of using hair band device is also disclosed herein. The method of using hair band device may comprise the steps of: providing a head covering assembly; applying the head covering assembly to a head of a user-wearer; securing a securing band; applying a hair-piece, removing the hair piece; and removing the head covering assembly.
- For purposes of summarizing the invention, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features of the invention have been described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment of the invention. Thus, the invention may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. The features of the invention which are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification.
