A pair of shells is provided and each of the shells is coupled to an associated one of the flat irons. Each of the shells is comprised of a rigid material to inhibit the flat irons from breaking when the flat irons are dropped.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a flat iron case system according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a side view of a pair of shells of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of an alternative embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new case device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the flat iron case system 10 generally comprises a pair of flat irons 12 that is hingedly coupled together such that the flat irons 12 are selectively compressed on hair. The pair of flat irons 12 may be electric flat irons for hair styling. Moreover, each of the flat irons 12 may be ceramic flat irons or other flat irons 12 that are prone to breaking when the flat irons 12 are dropped. Each of the flat irons 12 has a first surface 14 and a second surface 16. The first surface 14 corresponding to each of the flat irons 12 is concavely arcuate with respect to the second surface 16 of the corresponding flat iron 12. The second surface 16 corresponding to each of the flat irons 12 is urged toward each other when the flat irons 12 are closed. Additionally, the pair of flat irons 12 may include a hinge.
  • A pair of shells 18 is provided and each of the shells 18 is coupled to an associated one of the flat irons 12. Each of the shells 18 is comprised of a rigid material to inhibit the flat irons 12 from breaking when the flat irons 12 are dropped. Additionally, each of the shells 18 is comprised of a heat resistant material to resist being damaged by the heat generated from the flat irons 12. Each of the shells 18 has a basal wall 20 and a perimeter wall 22 extending away therefrom. The perimeter wall 22 has a front side 24, a back side 26, a first lateral side 28 and a second lateral side 30.
  • The basal wall 20 is elongated between the front side 24 and the back side 26 and the basal wall 20 is concavely arcuate between the first lateral side 28 and the second lateral side 30. The perimeter wall 22 has a distal edge 32 with respect to the basal wall 20 to define an opening 34 into each of the shells 18. The opening 34 in each of the shells 18 insertably receives the associated flat iron 12 having the basal wall 20 abutting the first surface 14 of the associated flat iron 12 and having the distal edge 32 of each of the shells 18 being aligned with the second surface 16 of the associated flat iron 12.
  • The distal edge 32 of the first lateral side 28 corresponding to each of the shells 18 has a first slot 36 extending toward the basal wall 20. The distal edge 32 of the second lateral side 30 corresponding to each of the shells 18 has a second slot 38 extending toward the basal wall 20. Each of the first 36 and second 38 slots is positioned closer to the back side 26 than the front side 24 and the second slot 38 is aligned with the first slot 36. Moreover, each of the first 36 and second 38 slots accommodates the hinge on the flat irons 12.
  • The distal edge 32 corresponding to each of the shells 18 may frictionally engage the associated flat iron 12 to retain the shells 18 on the flat irons 12. Additionally, an adhesive may be applied to the shells 18 to adhere the shells 18 to the flat irons 12. In an alternative embodiment 40 as shown in FIG. 4, a single shell 18 may be provided and the single shell 18 may have a handle portion 42 extending away from a panel portion 44. The single shell 18 may be positioned on a flat iron that has a shovel shape.
  • In use, each of the shells 18 is positioned on the associated flat iron to cover the first surface 14 of the associated flat iron. In this way the shells 18 absorb impact energy resulting from dropping the flat irons 12 on a hard surface. Moreover, the shells 18 inhibit the flat irons 12 from breaking when the flat irons 12 are dropped thereby enhancing a service life of the flat irons 12.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
