Description

    CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
  • This application claims the benefit of U.S. Patent Application Ser. No. 62/477,167, which was filed on Mar. 27, 2018, and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
  • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • This disclosure relates to implementations of a fitted bed skirt.
  • BACKGROUND
  • A bed skirt is usually a piece of decorative fabric that is placed between the mattress and the box spring of a bed to give the bed a more desirable appearance. The bed skirt may conceal the box spring and space under the bed, which may be used for storage. Usually, a bed skirt has to be placed back into position on the box spring due to it slipping around during use of the bed.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIGS. 1A and 1B illustrate an implementation of an example fitted bed skirt according to the present disclosure.
  • FIGS. 2A and 2B illustrate another implementation of an example fitted bed skirt according to the present disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 illustrates an example box spring or mattress according to an implementation of the present disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 illustrates an implementation of an example fitted bed skirt on top of box spring.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Implementations of a fitted bed skirt are provided. In some implementations, a fitted bed skirt comprises a top panel wherein the top panel is configured to fit over a top of a box spring, a skirt extending from the top panel, and elastic attached to the skirt. In this way, the fitted bed skirt may stay in place on the box spring during use of the bed.
  • FIGS. 1A and 1B illustrate an implementation of an example fitted bed skirt 100 according to the present disclosure. In some implementations, the fitted bed skirt includes a top panel 102, a skirt 104 extending from the top panel 102, and an elastic 106 attached to the skirt 104.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, in some implementations, the top panel 102 may be configured to fit over the top of a box spring. In some implementation, the top panel 102 may be configured to completely cover the top of a box spring. In some implementations, the top panel 102 may be configured to be larger than the top of a box spring such that the edges of the top panel 102 extend down the sides of the box spring.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, in some implementations, the skirt 104 comprises a foot area 104 a, a head area 104 b opposite the foot area 104 a, right, side area 104 c, and a left, side area 104 d opposite the right, side area 104 c. As shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, in some implementations, the skirt 104 extends from the top panel 102.
  • FIG. 3 illustrates an example box spring 300 according to an implementation of the present disclosure. FIG. 4 illustrates an implementation of an example fitted bed skirt on top of box spring.
  • As shown in FIG. 4, in some implementations, when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring, the top panel 102 of the fitted bed skirt is configured to fit over the top of a box spring 302. As further shown in FIG. 4, in some implementations, when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring, the skirt 104 is configured to drape from the top panel 102 and towards the floor to conceal the sides of the box spring and the open space between the bed or box spring and the floor. In some implementations, a mattress may be placed on top of the box spring 302 such that the top panel 102 lies between the box spring and the mattress.
  • As further shown in FIG. 4, when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring, in some implementations, the foot area 104 a of the skirt is configured to conceal the foot end 150 a of the box spring and open space at the foot end of a bed when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring. Similarly, in some implementations, when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring, the head area 104 b of the skirt, opposite the foot area 104 a, is configured to conceal the head end 150 b of the box spring opposite the foot end 150 a and open space at the head end of the bed when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring.
  • As further shown in FIG. 4, when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring, in some implementations, the left, side area 104 d of the skirt is configured to conceal the left side 150 d of the box spring and open space at the left side of a bed when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring. Similarly, in some implementations, when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring, the right, side area 104 c of the skirt is configured to conceal the right side 150 c of the box spring and open space at the right side of a bed when the fitted bed skirt is placed on the box spring.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, in some implementations, the skirt 104 includes elastic 106 a on at least some portions of the skirt 104 to help keep the fitted bed skirt 100 from becoming displaced on the box spring.
  • In some implementations, the elastic 106 a may be attached to the skirt 104 in a portion of the foot area 104 a, head area 104 b, right, side area 104 c, and/or left side area 104 d of the skirt 104. As shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, in some implementations, the elastic 106 a may be placed on the four corners of the skirt 104. That is, the elastic 106 a may be positioned on the skirt 104 so that when the fitted bed skirt 100 is placed on the box spring, the elastic 106 a will extend around the corners of the box spring.
  • As shown in FIGS. 2A and 2B, in some implementations, the elastic 106 b may extend all around the skirt 104.
  • As shown in FIG. 1A through 2B, in some implementations, the elastic 106 a, 106 b may be attached to the skirt 104 away from the intersection between the top panel 102 and skirt 104. In some implementations, the elastic 106 a, 106 b may be attached to the skirt 104 two inches below the top of the fitted bed skirt 100 or top panel 102. In some implementations, the elastic 106 a, 106 b may be attached to the skirt 104 two inches below the attachment of the skirt 104 to the top panel 102. In some implementations, the elastic 106 a, 106 b may be attached to the skirt 104 less than two inches below the attachment of the skirt 104 to the top panel 102. In some implementations, the elastic 106 a, 106 b may be attached to the skirt 104 more than two inches below the attachment of the skirt 104 to the top panel 102.
  • In some implementations, the fitted bed skirt or components thereof may be composed of any suitable materials. In some implementations, the components of the fitted bed skirt may be composed of different materials. In some implementations, the fitted bed skirt or components thereof may have various colors or other suitable appearances and qualities.
  • The figures, including photographs and drawings, included herewith may represent one or more example implementations of the fitted bed skirt according to the present disclosure.
