- As toys for intellectual development of toddlers or children, self-assembly block toy sets including a plurality of blocks of various shapes that may be assembled to make any type of artifact are being widely used. Such a self-assembly block toy set allows a child to assemble an artifact of various shapes according to imagination, and may be repeatedly used, that is, disassembling the artifact and making another type of artifact, and the self-assembly block toy set helps brain activity and intellectual development by stimulating creativity and imaginative power of children. However, there is a limitation in implementing various movements by using the self-assembly toy.
- According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a toy block is able to creatively generate various shapes by coupling to other block toys.
- According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a toy block including: a body; a first rotator formed on the body; a second rotator formed on an outer portion of the first rotator; and a gear portion configured to switch a rotating movement of the first rotator to a rotating movement in an opposite direction and to transfer the rotating movement to the second rotator.
- According to the present disclosure, various shapes capable of moving may be created.
-
FIG. 1 is a diagram of a toy block according to an embodiment of the present disclosure; -
FIG. 2 is a diagram of a toy block according to an embodiment seen from a lower portion of the toy block; -
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a separated state of a toy block according to the present disclosure; -
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing an entire shape of a toy block according to another embodiment of the present disclosure; -
FIG. 5 is a diagram showing a separated state of a toy block according to another embodiment of the present disclosure; and -
FIG. 6 is a diagram showing an example of coupling the toy block ofFIG. 1 and the toy block ofFIG. 2 to each other according to the present disclosure. - Hereinafter, a toy block according to the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing an entire shape of a toy block according to an embodiment of the present disclosure,FIG. 2 is a diagram of the toy block according to the embodiment seen from a lower portion, andFIG. 3 is a diagram showing a separated state of the toy block according to the embodiment of the present disclosure. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 to 3 , thetoy block 100 includes abody 110, afirst rotator 120, and asecond rotator 130. Thebody 110 may have various shapes having a predetermined volume, and may have a circular shape as shown inFIG. 1 . Otherwise, thebody 110 may be implemented as a polyhedron, e.g., a triangular prism, a square pillar, etc. - The
body 110 includes afirst coupling portion 112 having a concavo-convex structure of a toothed wheel shape around thefirst rotator 120, and asecond coupling portion 114 of an octagonal shape protruding to a predetermined height. According to an embodiment, thebody 110 may not include some or all of thefirst coupling portion 112 and thesecond coupling portion 114, and each of the coupling portions may be designed to have different shapes. - The
first rotator 120 may be rotatable while penetrating through thebody 110. Athird coupling portion 122 and afourth coupling portion 124 are on opposite ends of thefirst rotator 120. For example, thethird coupling portion 122 may be connected to afirst coupling portion 442 of acaterpillar block 400 shown inFIG. 4 . According to an embodiment, some or all of thethird coupling portion 122 and thefourth coupling portion 124 may be omitted, and each of the coupling portions may be designed to have different shapes. - The
second rotator 130 is provided on an outer portion of thefirst rotator 120, and rotates in a direction opposite to a rotating direction of thefirst rotator 120. Thesecond rotator 130 includes afifth coupling portion 132 having a concavo-convex structure of a toothed wheel shape around thefirst rotator 120, and asixth coupling portion 134 protruding to a predetermined height. For example, thefifth coupling portion 132 may be connected to asecond coupling portion 412 of acaterpillar block 400 shown inFIG. 4 . According to an embodiment, some or all of thefifth coupling portion 132 and thesixth coupling portion 134 may be omitted, and each of the coupling portions may be designed to have different shapes. - A
gear portion 310 switches a rotary force of thefirst rotator 120 to opposite direction and transfers the switched rotary force to thesecond rotator 130. To do this, thegear portion 310 may include a plurality of gears. For example, thegear portion 310 may include afirst gear 300 on an outer portion of the first rotator, asecond gear 320 on an internal portion of the second rotator, and athird gear 310 connecting thefirst gear 300 and thesecond gear 320 to each other. When thefirst rotator 120 rotates, thesecond rotator 130 rotates in a direction opposite to thefirst rotator 120. -
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing an entire shape of a toy block according to another embodiment of the present disclosure, andFIG. 5 is a diagram showing a separated state of the toy block according to the another embodiment of the present disclosure. - Referring to
FIGS. 4 and 5 , atoy block 400 is a caterpillar block including a plurality ofwheels track 430 surrounding the wheels. Thecaterpillar block 400 includes abody 410 in which the wheels are located. - The
caterpillar block 400 includes afirst coupling portion 440 transferring a rotating power to the wheels by penetrating through thebody 410, and thesecond coupling portion 412 provided on thebody 410. A concavo-convex structure 442 of a toothed wheel shape is provided at an end of thefirst coupling portion 440. Thefirst coupling portion 440 is connected to thewheel 420, and thus, when thefirst coupling portion 440 rotates, thewheel 420 rotates, and accordingly, thetrack 430 rotates. -
FIG. 6 is a diagram showing an example of coupling the toy block ofFIG. 1 and the toy block ofFIG. 2 to each other according to the present disclosure. - Referring to
FIG. 6 , thetoy block 100 ofFIG. 1 and thecaterpillar block 400 ofFIG. 2 are connected to each other. For example, thefirst rotator 120 of thetoy block 100 ofFIG. 1 is connected to thefirst coupling portion 440 of thecaterpillar block 400 ofFIG. 4 . Therefore, when thefirst rotator 120 of thetoy block 100 ofFIG. 1 rotates, thetrack 430 of thecaterpillar block 400 ofFIG. 4 also rotates. - Also, the
second rotator 130 of thetoy block 100 ofFIG. 1 is connected to thesecond coupling portion 412 of thecaterpillar block 400 ofFIG. 4 . As described above, since thesecond rotator 130 rotates in a direction different from the rotating direction of thefirst rotator 120, thebody 410 of thecaterpillar block 400 rotates in a direction opposite to a rotating direction of thetrack 430. - When a moving object such as an automobile is made by coupling the toy blocks of
FIGS. 1 and 4 to each other, thetrack 430 of the caterpillar may not only rotates, but thebody 410 also rotates, and thus, the moving object may make its way through obstacles. - While the present disclosure has been particularly shown and described with reference to preferred embodiments thereof, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the disclosure as defined by the appended claims. The preferred embodiments should be considered in descriptive sense only and not for purposes of limitation. Therefore, the scope of the present disclosure is defined not by the detailed description of the invention but by the appended claims, and all differences within the scope will be construed as being included in the present disclosure.
