Abstract

Implementations of a hair extension storage device are provided. In some implementations, the hair extension storage device comprises a cabinet-styled furniture having a closest area for hanging and concealing hair extensions and one or more drawers. In some implementations, the closest area includes silk-lined shelves to protect the distal ends of hair extensions. In some implementations, the drawers are lined with silk to protect the hair extensions.

  • This application claims the benefit of U.S. Patent Application Ser. No. 62/460,002, which was filed on Feb. 16, 2017, and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
  • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • This disclosure relates to implementations of a hair extension storage device.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Hair extensions are a $5 billion business. Hair extensions are expensive. However, there is nothing on the market for storing hair extensions at home.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Implementations of a hair extension storage device are provided. In some implementations, the hair extension storage device comprises a cabinet-styled furniture configured to store hair extensions and a drawer configured to store hair extensions insertable and retractable from a drawer opening.
  • FIG. 1 illustrates example hair extensions 100 (sometimes referred to as hair wefts). The weft of hair is a plurality of strings of hair sewn together on one end to form an elongated strip of hair wherein the strip extends in a first direction and the hair hangs in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction.
  • The present disclosure relates to a hair extension storage device that is an extension of furniture, for example, in a bedroom. That is, the hair extension storage device may resemble a piece of furniture. In some implementations, the hair extension storage device may resemble an armoire or medicine chest. In some implementations, the hair extension storage device may be made from wood. In some implementations, the hair extension storage device may be made from any suitable material.
  • FIGS. 2-6 illustrate implementations of an example hair extension storage device 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 according to the present disclosure. In some implementations, the hair extension storage device comprises a cabinet-styled furniture having a rectangular prism shape. That is, in some implementations, the hair extension storage device may comprise a case, cupboard, or enclosure having doors and shelves for storage. In some implementations, the hair extension storage device can be any other suitable shape.
  • In some implementations, the hair extension storage device may have a closest area (e.g., 210, 310, 410, 510, 610) for hanging and concealing hair extensions 100 and may include one or more drawers (e.g., 215, 315, 415, 515, 615).
  • In some implementations, the closet area may include one or more closet doors (e.g., 212, 312, 412, 512, 612) for concealing an enclosure having one or more shelves (e.g., 445, 545, 645) configured to hang hair extensions 100. In some implementations, the shelves 445, 545, 645 may be configured to attach hangers 320, 420, 520, 620 to the shelves 445, 545, 645 for hanging hair extensions 100. In some implementations, the closet area 210, 310, 410, 510, 610 may include one or more rods or rails (e.g., 635) for supporting the hangers 320, 420, 520, 620. In some implementations, the hangers 320, 420, 520, 620 can be hung on, removed from, or moved along the rails 635.
  • In some implementations, the closet area 210, 310, 410, 510, 610 may be configured to attach one or more hangers (e.g., 320, 420, 520, 620) for hanging hair extensions 100. In some implementations, the hangers 320, 420, 520, 620 include clips or any other attachment device configured to hold the hair extensions 100. In some implementations, the clips or attachment device are used to hold the weft of the hair extensions.
  • In some implementations, the closet area 210, 310, 410, 510, 610 may include one or more hooks (e.g., 425), for example, for hanging hair extensions 100 or wigs.
  • In some implementations, the closet area 210, 310, 410, 510, 610 may include lighting (e.g., 330). In some implementations, the lighting may be LED lighting.
  • In some implementations, the closet area may include at least one mirror (e.g., 340, 440, 540, 640).
  • In some implementations, the one or more drawers 215, 315, 415, 515, 615 may be used to store hair extensions 100. In some implementations, the drawers 215, 315, 415, 515, 615 may be used to store beauty/hair products and tools such as flat irons, brushes, scarves, etc.
  • In some implementations, the closet area 210, 310, 410, 510, 610 is positioned above the drawers 215, 315, 415, 515, 615. In some implementations, the closet area 210, 310, 410, 510, 610 and the drawers 215, 315, 415, 515, 615 may be positioned in any other suitable configuration.
  • In some implementations, one or more surfaces of the closet area 210, 310, 410, 510, 610 may be lined with silk or any other suitable material configured to prevent damage to stored hair extensions 100.
  • In some implementations, one or more surfaces of the drawers 215, 315, 415, 515, 615 may be lined with silk, satin, or any other suitable material configured to prevent damage to stored hair extensions 100.
  • In some implementations, one or more surfaces of the shelves 445, 545, 645 may be lined with silk or any other suitable material configured to prevent damage to stored hair extensions 100 (e.g., to protect the distal ends of hair extensions which may rest on the shelves, see FIG. 4).
  • In some implementations, as shown for example in FIG. 5, the hair extension storage device 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 may comprise a cabinet-styled furniture 500 having a rectangular prism shape. In some implementations, the furniture 500 comprises a front side 500 a extending from a top side 500 b to a bottom side 500 c and extending from a left side 500 d to a right side 500 e.
  • In some implementations, the furniture 500 comprises a rear side 500 f opposite the front side 500 a extending from the top side 500 b to the bottom side 500 c and extending from the left side 500 d to the right side 500 e.
  • In some implementations, the top side 500 b extends from the left side 500 d to the right side 500 e and extends from the front side 500 a to the rear side 500 f.
  • In some implementations, the bottom side 500 c is opposite the top side 500 b, and extends from the left side 500 d to the right side 500 e and extends from the front side 500 a to the rear side 500 f.
  • In some implementations, the front side 500 a, the rear side 500 f, the top side 500 b, the bottom side 500 c, the left side 500 d, and the right side 500 e each have a planar panel shape. In some implementations, the configuration of the front side 500 a, the rear side 500 f, the top side 500 b, the bottom side 500 c, the left side 500 d, and the right side 500 e define a furniture interior 500 g of the furniture 500.
  • In some implementations, the front side 500 a comprises a closet opening 500 h to the closet area 510 within the furniture interior 500 g. In some implementations, the front side 500 a comprises the drawer 515 that is insertable and retractable from a drawer opening 500 i to the furniture interior 500 g.
  • In some implementations, the closet opening 500 h is covered and accessible by the closet door 512.
  • In some implementations, the closet area 510 (which is configured to store one or more hair extensions 100) is defined by a top surface 510 b, a bottom surface 510 c, a left surface 510 d, a right surface 510 e, and a rear surface 510 f. In some implementations, the top surface 510 b is parallel to the top side 500 b, the bottom surface 510 c is parallel to the bottom side 500 c, the left surface 510 d is parallel to the left side 500 d, the right surface 510 e is parallel to the right side 500 e, and the rear surface 510 f is parallel to the rear side 500 f.
  • In some implementations, the top surface 510 b is configured to allow the hanger 520 (which is configured to hold one or more hair extensions 100 in the closet area 510) to be attached to the top surface 510 b.
  • In some implementations, the bottom surface 510 d comprises a silk lining (not shown), which is configured to prevent damage to the one or more hair extensions 100 stored in the closet area 510.
  • In some implementations, the drawer 515 (which is configured to store one or more hair extensions 100) comprises an inner-bottom surface 515 c that is parallel to the bottom side 500 c. In some implementations, the inner-bottom surface 515 c comprises a silk lining (not shown), which is configured to prevent damage to the one or more hair extensions 100 stored in the drawer 515.

Claims (10)

1. A hair extension storage device comprising a cabinet-styled furniture having a rectangular prism shape and comprising a front side extending from a top side to a bottom side and extending from a left side to a right side, and a rear side opposite the front side extending from the top side to the bottom side and extending from the left side to the right side, wherein:
the top side extends from the left side to the right side and extends from the front side to the rear side;
the bottom side is opposite the top side and extends from the left side to the right side and extends from the front side to the rear side;
the front side, the rear side, the top side, the bottom side, the left side, and the right side each have a planar panel shape;
the configuration of the front side, the rear side, the top side, the bottom side, the left side, and the right side define a furniture interior of the furniture; and
the front side comprises a closet opening to a closet area within the furniture interior and a drawer insertable and retractable from a drawer opening to the furniture interior, wherein:
the closet opening is covered and accessible by a closet door;
the closet area is configured to store a hair extension and is defined by a top surface parallel to the top side, a bottom surface parallel to the bottom side, a left surface parallel to the left side, a right surface parallel to the right side, and a rear surface parallel to the rear side;
the top surface is configured to allow a hanger to be attached to the top surface, wherein the hanger is configured to hold the hair extension within the closet area;
the bottom surface comprises a silk lining configured to prevent damage to the hair extension;
the drawer is configured to store the hair extension and comprises an inner-bottom surface parallel to the bottom side; and
the inner-bottom surface comprises the silk lining configured to prevent damage to the hair extension.
2. The hair extension storage device of claim 1, wherein the top surface of the closet area comprises a rail configured to allow a plurality of the hangers to be hung on the rail within the closet area holding a plurality of the hair extensions.
3. The hair extension storage device of claim 1, wherein the closet area comprises a shelf positioned between and parallel to the top surface and the bottom surface, wherein the shelf is configured to store the hair extension and comprises a shelf top surface that comprises the silk lining configured to prevent damage to the hair extension and a shelf bottom surface configured to allow the hanger to be attached to the shelf bottom surface.
4. The hair extension storage device of claim 1, wherein the closet opening is positioned above the drawer opening and the closet area is positioned above the drawer retracted into the furniture interior.
5. The hair extension storage device of claim 1, wherein the hanger comprises a clip configured to hold the hair extension.
6. The hair extension storage device of claim 1, wherein the closet area comprises a hook configured to hold the hair extension within the closet area.
7. The hair extension storage device of claim 1, wherein the closet area further comprises a mirror attached to the closet door.
8. The hair extension storage device of claim 7, wherein the closet area further comprises a light attached to the closet door adjacent to the mirror.
9. The hair extension storage device of claim 1, wherein the closet area further comprises a mirror attached to the rear surface of the closet area.
10. The hair extension storage device of claim 7, wherein the closet area further comprises a light attached to the rear surface of the closet area adjacent to the mirror.
