Abstract
What is described is a finishing device for a floor (1) with a finishing strip (3) and a holder (2) forming a wall leg (6), which holder has a holding web (8), which protrudes upwardly parallel to the wall leg (6) and engages in a downwardly open receiving groove (9) of the finishing strip (3), for receiving the finishing strip (3) in a clamped manner. In order to ensure advantageous fastening conditions for the finishing strip (3), it is proposed that the receiving groove (9) in cross-section has a central axis (11) inclined away from the wall leg (6).
Description
- The invention relates to a finishing device for a floor, with a finishing strip and a holder forming a wall leg, which holder has a holding web, which protrudes upwardly parallel to the wall leg and engages in a downwardly open receiving groove of the finishing strip, for receiving the finishing strip in a clamped manner.
- In order to secure finishing strips for floors, it is known (
EP 2 169 143 A2) to provide a holder which has a wall leg that can be secured to the wall and a holding web for the finishing strip, which is fitted on the wall-parallel holding web offset away from the wall relative to the wall leg. Here, the holding web engages in a downwardly open, likewise wall-parallel receiving groove of the finishing strip, which is held down with the aid of clamping fins provided on the holding web. The finishing strip is therefore fitted wall-parallel on the holder, which means that the finishing strip can be lifted from the wall by relatively low forces. - If, in another known finishing device (WO 02/066764 A2), the downwardly open receiving groove has a central axis in cross-section that is inclined away from the wall, this receiving groove for the holding web of the holder defines the direction in which the finishing strip is fitted on the holding web, with the effect that, as the finishing strip is fitted on the holder secured to the wall, the finishing strip is pressed against the wall. In order to ensure that the finishing strip bears in a sustained manner against the wall, it must firstly be ensured that the holding web is received in the receiving groove with intensified clamping, which is achieved by a hairpin-like design of the holding web in conjunction with a detent toothing. In spite of the resultant, relatively complex construction, the finishing strip must additionally be latched to a floor leg of the holder in order to prevent the finishing strip from lifting off from the floor leg of the holder or from the wall.
- The object of the invention is therefore to design a finishing device for a floor so that a reinforced bearing of the finishing strip against the wall can be ensured using means of simple design.
- Proceeding from a finishing device of the type described in the introduction, the invention solves the stated problem in that the receiving groove in cross-section has a central axis inclined away from the wall leg.
- As a result of this measure, as the finishing strip is fitted on the holder, the holding web of the holder engaging in the receiving groove of the finishing strip is forcibly bent away from the wall leg on account of the inclination of the receiving groove and is pretensioned, which results in a corresponding pressing force on the finishing strip transversely to the wall. As a result, not only is the long-term bearing of the finishing strip against the wall improved, but also the clamped hold of the holding web in the receiving groove of the finishing strip on account of the increase of the clamping forces caused by the pretensioning is intensified. Due to the pretensioning of the holding web, the strength of the holder is increased, whereby the hold of the finishing strip against the wall is also supported.
- The inclination of the receiving groove relative to the wall leg of the holder on the one hand is intended to ensure a sufficient resilient pretensioning of the holding web, but on the other hand should not unnecessarily hinder the fitting of the finishing strip on the holder. For this reason, the central axis of a cross-section of the receiving groove can enclose an angle between 7° and 15°, preferably between 9° and 12°, together with the wall leg of the holder. With a receiving groove in a range of inclination of this kind, the different requirements can be met advantageously
- The subject matter of the invention is illustrated in an exemplary manner in the drawing, and more specifically a finishing device for a floor according to the invention is shown in a schematic cross-section.
- The finishing device for a
floor 1 according to the invention comprises aholder 2 for afinishing strip 3, which is held down both on thefloor 1 and on thewall 4 with the aid of theplastic holder 2, which can be secured to awall 4. Theholder 2 forms afloor leg 5 supported on thefloor 1 and awall leg 6, which protrudes from thefloor leg 5 and which is provided with slot-like through-holes 7 so as to be securely screwed to thewall 4. Thewall leg 6 carries aholding web 8, which engages in a downwardlyopen receiving groove 9 of thefinishing strip 3 and has clampingfins 10, preferably made of a softer plastic. Thereceiving groove 9 is oriented so that thecentral axis 11 of its cross-section runs at an incline relative to thewall leg 6 of theholder 2 and together therewith preferably encloses an angle α between 9° and 12°. - The
holding web 8, which can be bent out resiliently at least to the extent of the angle of inclination a, in the unloaded state runs parallel to thewall leg 6 of theholder 2 and together with thereceiving groove 9 of thefinishing strip 3 thus likewise encloses the angle of inclination a, as indicated in the drawing by means of a dot-dash line. If thefinishing strip 3, in order to be secured, is slid onto theholding web 8 of theholder 2 secured to thewall 4, theholding web 8 engaging in thereceiving groove 9 of thefinishing strip 3 is bent away from thewall leg 6 as a result of the design specifications and is pretensioned, thus causing a pressing force on thefinishing strip 3 in the direction of thewall 4, so that, as thefinishing strip 3 is slid onto theholding web 8, thefinishing strip 3 is held pressed against thewall 4 under a corresponding pretension. In addition, due to the engagement of theholding web 8 in the receivinggroove 9 of thefinishing strip 3 under pretension, said holding web is clamped in the receivinggroove 9 in an intensified manner, and therefore theholder 2 is braced on account of the pretensioning of theholding web 8 and its guidance in the receivinggroove 9. - In the extension of the
holding web 8, theholder 2 forms asecuring tongue 12 with asecuring stop 13, which engages behind a counter stop, formed by alongitudinal groove 14 in thefinishing strip 3, when thefinishing strip 3 rests on thefloor 1 in the secured position. An unintentional removal of thefinishing strip 3 from theholder 2 is additionally prevented by means of thissecuring stop 13.
