Abstract

A clip on necktie assembly for presenting an ornamental appearance of a necktie includes a strap that may be worn around a neck. A strip is removably coupled to the strap. Thus, the strip and the strap have an ornamental appearance of a necktie.

The disclosure and prior art relates to necktie devices and more particularly pertains to a new necktie device for presenting an ornamental appearance of a necktie.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a strap that may be worn around a neck. A strip is removably coupled to the strap. Thus, the strip and the strap have an ornamental appearance of a necktie.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 7 thereof, a new necktie device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 7, the clip on necktie assembly 10 generally comprises a strap 12 that has a knot 14 and a first end 16. The first end 16 is directed through the knot 14 such that the strap 12 forms a closed loop. Thus, the strap 12 may be worn around a neck of a person. The knot 14 has a middle surface 18 and a front surface 20. Additionally, the knot 14 may be a Single Windsor, a Double Windsor or other ornamental knot associated with neckties.
A clip 22 is provided. The clip 22 is coupled to the strap 12. The clip 22 is positioned on the middle surface 18 of the knot 14. Thus, the clip 22 is concealed behind the front surface 20 of the knot 14. The clip 22 may include a member that is spaced from the middle surface 18.
A strip 24 is provided that has a first end 26, a second end 28 and a first surface 29. The strip 24 is removably coupled to the strap 12. Thus, the strip 24 and the strap 12 may present an ornamental appearance of a necktie. The strip 24 is inserted between the middle surface 18 of the knot 14 and the front surface 20 of the knot 14. The second end 28 may have a width that is greater than a width of the first end 26. Moreover, the second end 28 may taper to a point.
A hook 30 is provided and the hook 30 is coupled to the strip 24. The hook 30 is positioned on the first surface 29 of the strip 24. The hook 30 is positioned closer to the first end 26 than the second end 28. The hook 30 engages the clip 22 when the strip 24 is inserted in the knot 14. Thus, the strip 24 is removably retained on the strap 12. The first end 26 of the strip 24 is concealed in the knot 14 when the hook 30 engages the clip 22.
A plurality of the strips 24 may be provided and each of the strips 24 may have a unique color and pattern with respect to each other and the strap 12. Selected ones of the plurality of strips 24 may be removably coupled to the strip 12. Thus, a variety of colors and patterns may be displayed. Additionally, the strap 12 facilitates the user to wear a necktie without knowing how to tie a conventional necktie knot.
In an alternative embodiment 32 as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the strap 12 may extend laterally away from the knot 14 to form a closed loop. The clip 22 may be positioned within the knot 14. A panel 34 may be provided and the hook 30 may be coupled to the panel 34. The panel 34 may be positioned to extend laterally through the knot 14. Thus, the strap 12 and the panel 34 may present an ornamental appearance of a bowtie.
In use, the strap 12 is positioned around the neck. The first end 26 of the strap 24 is pulled through the knot 14 to tighten the strap 24 around the neck. The first end 26 of the strip 24 is inserted between the middle surface 18 and the front surface 20 of the knot 14. The strip 24 is manipulated such that the hook 30 engages the clip 22. Thus, the strip 24 is inhibited from being urged downwardly out of the knot 14. The strap 12 and the strip 24 are worn in the convention of a necktie.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

I claim:

1. A clip on necktie assembly being configured to be worn around a neck, said assembly comprising:

a strap being configured to be worn around a neck; and

a strip being removably coupled to said strap wherein said strip and said strap are configured to have an ornamental appearance of a necktie.

2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein:

said strap has a knot and a first end, said first end being directed through said knot such that said strap forms a closed loop; and

said knot having a middle surface and a front surface.

3. The assembly according to claim 2, further comprising a clip being coupled to said strap, said clip being positioned on said middle surface of said knot such that said clip is concealed behind said front surface of said knot.

4. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said strip has a first end, a second end and a first surface, said strip being inserted between said middle surface of said knot and said front surface of said knot.

5. The assembly according to claim 4, further comprising:

a clip being coupled to said strap; and

a hook being coupled to said strip, said hook being positioned on said first surface of said strip, said hook being positioned closer to said first end than said second end, said hook engaging said clip when said strip is inserted in said knot such that said strip is removably retained on said strap.

6. A clip on necktie assembly being configured to be worn around a neck, said assembly comprising:

a strap having a knot and a first end, said first end being directed through said knot such that said strap forms a closed loop wherein said strap is configured to be worn around a neck, said knot having a middle surface and a front surface;

a clip being coupled to said strap, said clip being positioned on said middle surface of said knot such that said clip is concealed behind said front surface of said knot;

a strip having a first end, a second end and a first surface, said strip being removably coupled to said strap wherein said strip and said strap are configured to have an ornamental appearance of a necktie, said strip being inserted between said middle surface of said knot and said front surface of said knot; and
