Description
- Field of the Disclosure
- The disclosure relates to scarf devices and more particularly pertains to a new scarf device for holding small personal articles.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a cloth panel having an upper edge, a lower edge, a first end edge, a second end edge, a first side and a second side. The panel is elongated from the first end edge to the second end edge. A pocket is attached to the panel. The pocket has an opening therein to access an interior of the pocket. A closure is mounted on the pocket and is positioned in an engaged condition closing the opening or a disengaged condition allowing access through the opening.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a rear view of a scarf and pocket combination assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a rear view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a perspective front in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure taken along line 6-6 ofFIG. 5 . - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new scarf device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 6 , the scarf andpocket combination assembly 10 generally includes apanel 12 comprising a cloth material. The cloth material may be any conventional material used for a scarf including cotton, wool, silk and synthetic materials. Thepanel 12 has anupper edge 14, alower edge 16, afirst end edge 18, asecond end edge 20, afirst side 22 and asecond side 24. Thepanel 12 is elongated from thefirst end edge 18 to thesecond end edge 20 and in particular thepanel 12 may have a length from thefirst end edge 18 to thesecond end edge 20 that is between 2.0 feet and 4.0 feet. Thepanel 12 will typically have a height fromlower edge 16 to theupper edge 14 typically between 6.0 inches and 18.0 inches. - A
pocket 26 is attached to thepanel 12. Thepocket 26 has an opening 28 therein to access an interior of thepocket 26. Thepocket 26 is positioned on thefirst side 22 of thepanel 12 and is spaced from each of the first 18 and second 20 end edges. More particularly thepocket 28 may be equally spaced from each of the first 18 and second 20 end edge. The opening 28 is directed toward theupper edge 14. Thepocket 26 will generally have an interior height and width each being between 3.0 inches and 8.0 inches. Aclosure 30 is mounted on thepocket 26 and is positioned in an engaged condition closing the opening 28 or a disengaged condition allowing access through the opening 28. As shown in the Figures, theclosure 30 may comprise a hook and loop closure. However, theclosure 30 may instead comprise a zipper, buttons and the like. - A coupler may 32, 34 be used to releasably couple the
first end edge 18 to thesecond end edge 20 such that thepanel 12 forms a closed loop. Thecoupler stretchable strap 36 may be attached to and extend between the first 18 and second 20 end edges such that thestrap 36 and thepanel 12 form a closed loop. - In use, the
panel 12 is worn around a person's neck in a manner similar to using a conventional scarf. However, the user of theassembly 10 may use thepocket 26 for holding smallpersonal articles 38 such as cellular phones, music players, money, keys and the like. Theclosure 30 is used to prevent thearticle 38 held within thepocket 26 from falling out of thepocket 26. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
