Abstract
A display package, formed by folding a sheet for demonstrating an article, includes a back board, at least three face panels, an accommodating reception, a tab panel, and at least one binding member. The back board defines a back panel, a support panel, and a first fold line formed therebetween. The three face panels foldably connect together along lateral edges thereof, and two of the face panels foldably respectively connect each lateral edges of the support panel. The tab panel extends from one of the face panels by a second fold line formed on the respective face panel. The binding member is provided for restraining the article, and fastened to the back board while holding the first article. It allows great hold and weight capacity at the same time, and offer better arrangement of the article for meeting visual consumer behavior.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a package, and specifically relates to a type of display package by folding material.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- For display packaging, it is well-known to fasten an article onto a board with one or more binding members. Presentation of such a board packaging is typically limited to hanging on a peg hook.
- For more flexible in-store presentation, the board packaging may include a support to become freestanding. A typical solution is to attach a second board to the backer board. The second board is folded to form a face panel and two side panels. The side panels are attached to the two lateral edges of the backer board by adhesive or staples. Such solution has the drawback of being visually unattractive.
- Taiwan Utility No. M326924, titled “Product packaging box with displaying and hanging function”, discloses a display container which is constructed from one unitary packaging blank and can be either suspended or as freestanding. The container provides an accommodating reception capable of receiving and carrying an article which is either light-weighted or arranged in a self-stabilizing manner. The container is not capable of carrying an article that, due to being heavy, of irregular shape, or of certain weight distribution, is unstable at its preferred display orientation.
- Gardena GmbH distributes Art. No. 3085 garden tool set displayed in a freestanding packaging. The packaging provides a
backer board 100 a, as illustrated inFIG. 1 , for securing articles on both sides thereof withcable ties 102 a. On each side of thebacker board 100 a, the packaging further provides a box-like bottom structure 200 a. Eachbottom structure 200 a provides acavity 202 a, wherein asupport platform 204 a constructed from a separate packaging blank is disposed. Eachsupport platform 204 a provides one ormore reception openings 206 a for receivingarticles 300 a. Because weight is distributed on front and back sides of thebacker board 100 a, the packaging is generally sturdy. For certain articles, Gardena GmbH's packaging may not be suitable. - For example, for a sprinkler, which is of heavy weight and high center of mass, the reception opening is preferably shallow so that features that interest consumers are exposed. In this case, when presented in freestanding manner in a store, the packaging will tend to pivot forward and tip over.
- In the interest of flexible and attractive merchandising, a display packaging for a heavy but irregularly shaped article needs to provide means of being suspended on a peg hook, to be able to be freestanding without risk of tipping over, and to present the article's features that interest the consumers in an open and attractive manner. Preferably such display packaging can be constructed from one unitary packaging blank.
- It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a display package formed by folding a sheet for demonstrating an article and allows the article to be secured well with evenly distributed holding.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide a display package that is free-standing.
- It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a display package capable of arranging the article for meeting visual consumer behavior.
- To achieve objects of the present invention, a display package constructed for carrying an irregularly shaped article is disclosed. The display package generally includes a back board, at least three face panels, an accommodating reception, at least one tab panel, and at least one binding member. The back board defines a support panel and a back panel; the back panel folds over the support panel via a first fold line, which is formed between the back panel and the support panel. The support panel at least defines a top edge, a bottom edge opposite to the top edge, and two lateral edges thereof. The three face panels foldably connects together along lateral edges thereof, and two of the face panels foldably respectively connects each of the lateral edges of the support panel. The support panel and the face panels enclose the accommodating reception for receiving at least one first article. The tab panel extends from at least one of the face panels via a second fold line, which is formed between the tab panel and the attached face panel. The binding member restrains the article onto the back board.
- To achieve objects of the present invention, a continuous blank for constructing a display packaging is disclosed. The continuous blank generally includes a back board, at least three face panels, at least one tab, at least one glue flap, and a plurality of fold guides. The back board defines a back panel, a support panel, and a first fold line formed between the back panel and the support panel. The support panel at least defines a top edge, a bottom edge opposite to the top edge, and two lateral edges thereof. The back panel has at least one first hole formed thereon; the support panel has at least one second hole thereon. At least two of the face panels foldably connect together along lateral edges thereof; at least one of the face panels foldably connects the support panel along lateral edges thereof. The glue flap foldably connects one of the face panels or the support panel. The fold guides are arranged between any adjacent two of the back board, the face panels, the tab panel, and the conjunction flap, while a foldable connection is offered between the adjacent two.
- Other advantages and features of the present invention will be fully understood by reference to the following specification in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which like reference signs denote like components of structure.

For substantial description, the 271, 272 are the subtabs belongs to afirst tab panels generic tab panel 27. For substantial description, thefirst tab panel 271 and thesecond tab panel 272 are the subtabs belongs to ageneric tab panel 27. - In an alternative embodiment (not illustrated), one type of a second tab panel extends from either one of the
21, 23, other thanface panels face panel 22, via a second fold line disposed between the attached face panel and the second tab panel, and the first tab panel extends from theface panel 22. -
FIGS. 10 through 11 pertain to a fourth embodiment of the invention. Afirst fold line 13 c coincides with one of the lateral sides of theback panel 12 and thesupport panel 11, while a first and 111 c and 121 c are symmetrical with each other along thesecond slots first fold line 13 c. - An
extension flap 14, is attached to either the first slot 121 d or the second slot 111 d, and foldably connects to theback panel 12 c or thesupport panel 11 c. Theextension flap 14 is preferably attached to thesecond slot 111 c while theback panel 12 c folds forward in front of thesupport panel 11 c. Theextension flap 14 preferably folds forward when thepackage 100 hangs on apeg hook 300, because theextension flap 14 would retain against a front hook of thepeg hook 300. - A
tab panel 24 c extends from theface panels 22 via thesecond fold line 25, and twoflaps 241 c extending from two lateral sides of thetab panel 24 c, which are triangular and symmetrical to each other. Due to the support byflaps 241 c, thetab panel 24 c offers stronger retaining pressure on the article. - In an alternative embodiment (not illustrated), one flap extends from a transverse side of the
tab panel 24 c and retains against a bottom support structure. - Therefore, the display package in the present invention formed by folding one unitary sheet is embodied economically and effectively; it is easily adapted for demonstrating an article by allowing the article to be secured and restrained well by the binding members or the aperture. The display package distributes weight support to the binding members and the supporting tab so to achieve the improved stability, strength, and weight capacity. In addition, the better arrangement of the article for meeting visual consumer behavior would be offered by the display package according to the present invention.
- The preceding description is meant to be illustrative of preferred embodiments and should not be construed as limiting the scope of the present invention. Various modifications, which would be readily apparent to one skilled in the art, are intended to be within the scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the only limitations to the scope of the present invention are set forth in the following claims appended hereto.
