Definitions
- the present invention relates to gun technology and more particularly, to a gun bolt assembly of air-soft pistol, which greatly enhances the stability of relative movement between the air cylinder and the piston.
- Regular toy air-soft pistols are designed like a real pistol. These toy air-soft pistols have the same outer appearance of a real pistol. They operate in the same manner as a real pistol. Further, similar to a real pistol, these toy air-soft pistols produce recoil upon shooting. Enhancing the generation of recoil of a toy gun greatly attracts toy gun players.
- An air-soft toy pistol utilizes high-pressure gas to drive the gun bolt assembly. Traction between the slide carriage and air cylinder of the gun bolt assembly is achieved by a spring member. When high-pressure gas is delivered into the air cylinder to drive a bullet toward the outside, the piston and the slide carriage are simultaneously forced backwards by high-pressure gas to produce recoil. At this time, the spring member is stretched out. After interruption of the supply of high-pressure gas, the elastic restoring energy of the spring member pulls the piston back.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 illustrate a gun bolt assembly “a” according to the prior art of an air-soft pistol, which comprises a slide carriage 10 and an air cylinder 20 .
- the slide carriage 10 has a bridge member 30 fixedly mounted in a rear side thereof.
- the bridge member 30 comprises a base 301 , two rails 302 forwardly extended from two opposite lateral sides of the base 301 (see FIG. 1 ).
- a piston 40 is affixed to a front side of the base 301 (see FIG. 2 ).
- a screw 401 is inserted through the center of a packing member 402 and driven into the front side of the piston 40 to lock a piston cushion 403 to the front side of the piston 40 .
- the air cylinder 20 is a hollow member, comprising an air inlet 201 located at a bottom side thereof, an air outlet 202 located at a front side thereof, and an opening 203 located at an opposing rear side thereof. Further, a wad 204 is mounted inside the air cylinder 20 behind the air outlet 202 . A first spring 205 is mounted around a front side of the wad 204 to support the wad 204 inside the air cylinder 20 . The piston 40 is inserted through the opening 203 into the inside of the air cylinder 20 . Further, two second springs 50 are disposed at a top outside relatively to the air cylinder 20 and base 301 and connected between the air cylinder 20 and base 301 for enabling the air cylinder 20 and the piston 40 to be moved relative to each other within a limited range.
- the wire diameter of the second springs 50 must be limited, lowering the elastic strength and generation of recoil. Further, these second springs 50 wear quickly with use, shortening the lifespan. Further, because the second springs 50 are connected between the air cylinder 20 and the base 301 at the top outside, they tend to fall off. Further, because the pulling force between the air cylinder 20 and the base 301 is produced at the top outside of the air cylinder 20 , the moving path of the air cylinder 20 can easily be deviated upwardly from the rails 302 , causing the air cylinder 20 unable to push the bullet into the gun barrel accurately. An improvement in this regard is desired.
- the present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide a gun bolt assembly for air-soft pistol, which has the second spring axially connected between the air cylinder and the piston to prevent falling off and to prolong lifespan, enabling the air cylinder and the piston to be moved stably without deviation.

- Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to gun technology and more particularly, to a gun bolt assembly of air-soft pistol, which greatly enhances the stability of relative movement between the air cylinder and the piston.
- Description of Related Arts
-
FIGS. 1 and 2 illustrate a gun bolt assembly “a” according to the prior art of an air-soft pistol, which comprises aslide carriage 10 and anair cylinder 20. Theslide carriage 10 has abridge member 30 fixedly mounted in a rear side thereof. Thebridge member 30 comprises abase 301, tworails 302 forwardly extended from two opposite lateral sides of the base 301 (seeFIG. 1 ). Further, apiston 40 is affixed to a front side of the base 301 (seeFIG. 2 ). Further, ascrew 401 is inserted through the center of apacking member 402 and driven into the front side of thepiston 40 to lock apiston cushion 403 to the front side of thepiston 40. Theair cylinder 20 is a hollow member, comprising anair inlet 201 located at a bottom side thereof, anair outlet 202 located at a front side thereof, and anopening 203 located at an opposing rear side thereof. Further, awad 204 is mounted inside theair cylinder 20 behind theair outlet 202. Afirst spring 205 is mounted around a front side of thewad 204 to support thewad 204 inside theair cylinder 20. Thepiston 40 is inserted through theopening 203 into the inside of theair cylinder 20. Further, twosecond springs 50 are disposed at a top outside relatively to theair cylinder 20 andbase 301 and connected between theair cylinder 20 andbase 301 for enabling theair cylinder 20 and thepiston 40 to be moved relative to each other within a limited range. - Thus, as shown in
FIG. 2 , when high-pressure gas is fed into theair cylinder 20 to drive a bullet toward the outside, thepiston 30 and theslide carriage 10 are forced backwards by a reversed flow of high-pressure gas, thereby producing recoil. At the same time, thesecond spring 50 is forced by high-pressure gas to stretch out (seeFIG. 3 ). After interruption of the supply of high-pressure gas, theair cylinder 20 and thepiston 40 are pulled back to their former position by the elastic restoring force of the second spring 50 (seeFIG. 4 ). - However, because the distance between the
air cylinder 20 and theslide carriage 10 is limited, the wire diameter of thesecond springs 50 must be limited, lowering the elastic strength and generation of recoil. Further, thesesecond springs 50 wear quickly with use, shortening the lifespan. Further, because thesecond springs 50 are connected between theair cylinder 20 and thebase 301 at the top outside, they tend to fall off. Further, because the pulling force between theair cylinder 20 and thebase 301 is produced at the top outside of theair cylinder 20, the moving path of theair cylinder 20 can easily be deviated upwardly from therails 302, causing theair cylinder 20 unable to push the bullet into the gun barrel accurately.
- To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a gun bolt assembly of air-soft pistol comprises a slide carriage and an air cylinder. The slide carriage has a bridge member fixedly mounted in a rear side thereof. The bridge member comprises a base, two rails forwardly extended from two opposite lateral sides of the base, a piston fixedly mounted at a front side of the base, a fastening component fastened to a front side of the piston to lock a piston cushion to the front side of the piston. The air cylinder comprises an air inlet located at a bottom side thereof, an air outlet located at a front side thereof, a wad mounted therein at a rear side relative to the air outlet, a first spring mounted around a front side of the wad to support the wad inside the air cylinder, an opening located at a rear side thereof for the insertion of the piston into the inside of the air cylinder, and a second spring connected between the air cylinder and the slide carriage for enabling the air cylinder to be moved back and forth along the two rails within a limited range. The second spring has a front end thereof positioned inside the air cylinder, and a rear end thereof inserted through the fastening component and the piston cushion and connected to an inside part of the piston.
- By means of axially connecting the second spring between the air cylinder and the piston, the second spring is prohibited from falling off. This second spring mounting arrangement allows the use of a large diameter metal wire material for making the second spring to prolong lifespan. Further, because the second spring is axially connected between the air cylinder and the piston, the air cylinder can be moved along the two rails stably without deviation.
- Preferably, the air cylinder further comprises a locating pin transversely mounted therein. The piston has a plug mounted in a rear side thereof and held in place by the base of said bridge member. The second spring has the front end thereof connected to the locating pin, and the rear end thereof connected to the plug. Further, the piston comprises a front part and a rear part. The rear part comprises two screw holes longitudinally disposed therein at two opposite lateral sides and affixed to the base of the bridge member by two screw bolts. The fastening component is threaded into the front part to lock the piston cushion to the front part. The plug is plugged into the rear part. Further, the rear part is relatively smaller than the front part. The bridge member further comprises two arched constraint flanges protruded from the front side of the base at different elevations and respectively abutted against opposing top and bottom sides of the rear part of said piston.
- Preferably, the fastening component comprises a head, a shank backwardly extended from a rear side of said head, an outer thread spirally extended around the periphery of the shank, an axial hole axially cut through the head and the shank for the passing of the second spring, and a tool groove located on an opposing front side of the head for the positioning of a hand tool to drive the fastening component into or out of the piston.
- Other advantages and features of the present invention will be fully understood by reference to the following specification in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which like reference signs denote like components of structure.

Afastening component 43 is threaded into thefront part 41 to lock apiston cushion 44 to a front side of thefront part 41. Aplug 45 is plugged into therear part 42 of thepiston 4. Further, twoscrew holes 421 are longitudinally disposed in therear part 42 at two opposite lateral sides. Twoscrew bolts 46 are forwardly inserted through thebase 31 and respectively threaded into the screw holes 421 to lock thepiston 4 to the front side of thebase 31, enabling theplug 45 to be stopped against the front side of thebase 31. air cylinder 2 is a hollow member, comprising anair outlet 21 located at a front side thereof, anopening 22 located at an opposing rear side thereof for the insertion of thepiston 4 into the inside of theair cylinder 2 to let thepiston cushion 44 be slidably abutted against the inside wall of theair cylinder 2, anair inlet 23 located at a bottom side thereof, awad 24 mounted inside theair cylinder 2 behind theair outlet 21, afirst spring 25 mounted around a front side of thewad 24 and stopped against the inside wall of theair cylinder 2 behind theair outlet 21, asecond spring 26 connected between theair cylinder 2 and thepiston 4, and a locatingpin 27 transversely mounted inside theair cylinder 2 and stopped at a rear side of thewad 24. Thesecond spring 26 has a front end thereof connected to the locatingpin 27, and an opposing rear end thereof inserted through theaxial hole 434 of thefastening component 43 and thepiston cushion 44 and then connected to theplug 45. Further, the wire diameter of thesecond spring 26 is relatively larger than the prior art design. - When operating the air-soft pistol to shoot a bullet,
hammer 5 is biased forwards (seeFIG. 8 ), and anair intake device 6 is activated for letting high-pressure gas to go through theair inlet 23 into the inside of theair cylinder 2, driving abullet 7 toward the outside. At the same time, thepiston 4 and theslide carriage 1 are forced backwards by reversed flow of high-pressure gas to produce recoil (seeFIG. 9 ), and thesecond spring 26 is forced by high-pressure gas to stretch out, producing an elastic restoring force for pulling back thepiston 4 and theair cylinder 2 after the shooting of the bullet (seeFIG. 10 ). - As stated above, this invention has the
second spring 26 be axially mounted inside theair cylinder 2 and connected between theair cylinder 2 and thepiston 4, and therefore, this invention eliminates the disadvantage of the use of a small wire diameter spring member due to space limitation as seen in the prior art design, and allows the use of a large wire diameter spring member for producing heavy recoil. The arrangement of thesecond spring 26 prevents falling off and prolongs lifespan. Further, because thesecond spring 26 is axially connected between theair cylinder 2 and thepiston 4, theair cylinder 2 can be moved along the tworails 32 stably without deviation (seeFIG. 5 ), enabling theair cylinder 2 to deliver abullet 7 into the gun barrel 8 (seeFIG. 10 ) smoothly and accurately. Thus, this invention effectively improves the drawbacks of the prior art design. - Although a particular embodiment of this invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of this invention.
