Abstract

A urinal system for fluidly coupling a urinal to a toilet includes a toilet that has a first supply line and the first supply line supplies the toilet with a fluid for flushing the toilet. A urinal is coupled to the toilet and a tube is fluidly coupled between the toilet and the urinal. Thus, the urinal drains into the toilet. A second supply line is fluidly coupled to the first supply line such that the second supply line supplies the urinal with the fluid for flushing the urinal.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to urinal devices and more particularly pertains to a new urinal device for fluidly coupling a urinal to a toilet.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a toilet that has a first supply line and the first supply line supplies the toilet with a fluid for flushing the toilet. A urinal is coupled to the toilet and a tube is fluidly coupled between the toilet and the urinal. Thus, the urinal drains into the toilet. A second supply line is fluidly coupled to the first supply line such that the second supply line supplies the urinal with the fluid for flushing the urinal.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new urinal device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the urinal system 10 generally comprises a toilet 12 that has a first supply line 14, a valve line 16, a valve 17, a tank 18 and a bowl 20. The bowl 20 has an outer wall 22 and the tank 18 has an outer wall 24 and a distal edge 26 with respect to the bowl 20. The outer wall 24 has a first lateral side 28 and a lid 29 is positioned on the distal edge 26 of the tank 18. The valve 17 is in fluid communication with the tank 18.
The valve line 16 is fluidly coupled between the valve 17 and the first supply line14 and the first supply line 14 is fluidly coupled to a fluid source 30. Thus, the first supply line 14 fills the tank 18 with a fluid 32. The valve 17 ceases supplying the fluid 32 to the tank 18 when the tank 18 becomes filled with the fluid 32. The fluid 32 may be water and the toilet 12 may be a residential pluming fixture or the like conforming to the Uniform Pluming Code. The bowl 20 is fluidly coupled to a sewer system 34 such that the toilet 12 drains into the sewer system 34.
A urinal 36 is coupled to the toilet 12. The urinal 36 has a drain 38, a front wall 40 and a peripheral wall 42. The front wall 40 is open thereby facilitating the urinal to be utilized for the purposes of urination. The peripheral wall 42 has a top side 44, a bottom side 46 and a first lateral side 48.
A bracket 50 is provided that has a foot 52 and a leg 54. The leg 54 is coupled to the first lateral side 48 of the urinal 36 and the foot 52 is spaced from the urinal 36. The urinal 36 is positioned such that the distal edge 26 of the toilet 12 is positioned between the foot 52 and the leg 54. Thus, the first lateral side 48 of the urinal 36 abuts the first lateral side 28 of the toilet 12. The urinal 36 may be a residential pluming fixture or the like conforming to the Uniform Plumbing Code.
A tube 56 is fluidly coupled between the toilet 12 and the urinal 36 such that the urinal 36 drains into the toilet 12. Thus, the tube 56 facilitates the urinal 36 to be in fluid communication with the sewer system 34. The toilet 12 may be a pre-existing toilet 12 with respect to the urinal 36. The tube 56 has a first end 58 and a second end 60. The tube 56 may have a bend 62 thereon that is positioned between the first end 58 and the second end 60. The bend 62 may define a first portion 64 forming an angle with a second portion 66. The first end 58 is fluidly coupled to the outer wall 22 of the bowl 20 and the second end 60 is fluidly coupled to the bottom side 46 of the urinal 36. The tube 56 is in fluid communication with the drain 38 of the urinal 36 such that the urinal 36 drains into the bowl.
A fitting 68 is fluidly attached to the first supply line 14. The fitting 68 has a pair of primary ports 70 and a secondary port 72. Each of the primary ports 70 and the secondary port 72 are in fluid communication with each other. One of the primary ports 70 is fluidly coupled to the first supply line 14 and one of the primary ports 70 is fluidly coupled to the valve line 16.
The distal edge 26 of the toilet 12 has a groove 74 extending downwardly therein. A second supply line 76 is in fluid communication with the first supply line 14 such that the second supply line 76 supplies the urinal 36 with the fluid 32. The second supply line 76 is fluidly coupled between the secondary port 72 of the fitting 68 and the top side 44 of the urinal 36. The second supply line 76 extends over the distal edge 26 of the toilet 12 and the second supply line 76 is positioned within the groove 74 such that the lid 29 does not contact the second supply line 76.
In use, the urinal 36 is utilized for the purposes of urination. The toilet 12 is flushed when the urinal 36 has been utilized such that the urinal 36 drains into the sewer system 34. The second supply line 76 supplies the urinal 36 with the fluid 32 while the tank 18 fills with the fluid 32. The second supply line 76 ceases supplying the fluid 32 to the urinal 36 when the tank 18 becomes filled with the fluid 32.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded.
A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

I claim:

1. A urinal system utilizing plumbing of a toilet, said system comprising:

a toilet having a first supply line wherein said first supply line is configured to supply said toilet with a fluid for flushing said toilet;

a urinal being coupled to said toilet;

a tube being fluidly coupled between said toilet and said urinal such that said urinal drains into said toilet;

a second supply line being fluidly coupled to said first supply line wherein said second supply line is configured to supply said urinal with the fluid for flushing said urinal.

2. The system according to claim 1, wherein said toilet has a first supply line, a valve line, a tank and a bowl, said bowl having an outer wall, said tank having an outer wall and a distal edge with respect to said bowl, said outer wall having a first lateral side, said first supply line being fluidly coupled to a fluid source wherein said first supply line is configured to fill said tank with a fluid.

3. The system according to claim 1, wherein:

said toilet has a first lateral side; and

said urinal having a drain, a front wall and a peripheral wall, said front wall being open, said peripheral wall having a top side, a bottom side and a first lateral side, said first lateral side of said urinal being attached to said first lateral side of said toilet.

4. The system according to claim 1, wherein said tube has a first end and a second end, said tube having a bend thereon being positioned between said first end and said second end, said bend defining a first portion forming and angle with a second portion.

5. The system according to claim 4, wherein said first end is fluidly coupled to said outer wall of said bowl, said second end being fluidly coupled to said bottom side of said urinal, said tube being in fluid communication with said drain such that said urinal drains into said bowl.

6. The system according to claim 1, further comprising:

said toilet having a first supply line and a valve line; and

a fitting being fluidly attached to said supply line, said fitting has a pair of primary ports and a secondary port, one of said primary ports being fluidly coupled to said first supply line, one of said primary ports being fluidly coupled to said valve line.

7. The system according to claim 6, wherein:

said urinal has a top side; and

said second supply line is fluidly coupled between said secondary port of said fitting and said top side of said urinal.

8. A urinal system utilizing plumbing of a toilet, said system comprising:

a toilet having a first supply line, a valve line, a tank and a bowl, said bowl having an outer wall, said tank having an outer wall, said outer wall having a first lateral side, said first supply line being fluidly coupled to a fluid source wherein said first supply line is configured to fill said tank with a fluid;

a urinal being coupled to said toilet, said urinal having a drain, a front wall and a peripheral wall, said front wall being open, said peripheral wall having a top side, a bottom side and a first lateral side, said first lateral side of said urinal being attached to said first lateral side of said toilet;

a tube being fluidly coupled between said toilet and said urinal such that said urinal drains into said toilet, said tube having a first end and a second end, said tube having a bend thereon being positioned between said first end and said second end, said bend defining a first portion forming and angle with a second portion, said first end being fluidly coupled to said outer wall of said bowl, said second end being fluidly coupled to said bottom side of said urinal, said tube being in fluid communication with said drain such that said urinal drains into said bowl;

a fitting being fluidly attached to said first supply line, said fitting having a pair of primary ports and a secondary port, one of said primary ports being fluidly coupled to said first supply line, one of said primary ports being fluidly coupled to said valve line; and

a second supply line being fluidly coupled to said first supply line wherein said second supply line is configured to supply said urinal with the fluid, said second supply line being fluidly coupled between said secondary port of said fitting and said top side of said urinal.
