  • It is further contemplated in one embodiment of the present invention that the wall mounting will not attach to the actual wall of a room but will be provided as a secondary item that further can be attached to the wall.
  • In one embodiment, this is a secondary piece of wood, plywood, or other such article.
  • In one embodiment, the present invention is a bottle storage system comprising:
  • a mounting surface constructed and arranged with a plurality of receiving cavities;
    a support peg constructed and arranged to attach to said mounting surface, said peg having a proximal end for mounting and a distal end with a convex curvature constructed and arranged for use in pairs and holding a bottle thereon.
  • In one embodiment, the support peg has a convex curved surface, whereby the minimum diameter of the convex surface is approximately between 30-70% the diameter of the non convex surface.
  • In one embodiment, two support pegs are connected end to end utilizing a peg connector and said two connected support pegs attached to said mounting surface in a single receiving cavity. In one embodiment, each convex curved surface is formed with an angular offset relative to a vertical plane perpendicular having a measurement between approximately 95 and 110°.
  • In one embodiment, the two pegs are of substantially congruent lengths.
  • In one embodiment, the two pegs are of different lengths.
  • Also contemplated is a method of storing bottles, said method comprising the steps of:
  • providing a system as described herein;
  • mounting at least two pegs on said mounting surface in successive complimentary positions;
  • positioning a bottle in a substantially horizontal orientation on said two pegs whereby said bottle has a neck that is positioned to nest in the convex portion of one of the mounting pegs.
  • The method includes using two or three end to end pegs and mounting two or three bottles on one pair of two peg systems as best seen in FIG. 11.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a side partial perspective view demonstrating both separated and connected tags according to one embodiment of the present invention.

  • FIG. 11 is a perspective view demonstrating placement of wine bottles in one embodiment of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • The present invention represents advancement in systems used for storing wine bottles. As generally understood, the system 12 includes a mounting peg 10 that is constructed and arranged to interact with a mounting screw 22 attached to mounting surface 20. In one embodiment, mounting surface 20 is a mounting board or a mounting wall configured with receiving cavities 21 for receiving mounting screws 22.
  • Mounting peg 10 includes a main body, which can be an elongated main body 36, or a shortened main body 34, each having a proximal, or mounting end 32 and a distal end 34. Mounting and 32 is constructed and arranged with a receiving cavity 30 constructed and arranged to receive mounting screw 22 therein. Distal end 34 is similarly configured and screw 30 is either a connecting screw 38 or endcap 40.
  • Mounting peg 10 includes a distal or connecting end 34 constructed and arranged with a curved convex mounting surface 28 wherein said convex surface 28 when paired with a second peg provides for the support of wine bottles thereon. Distal or connecting and 34 has formed therein connecting cavity 30 that is constructed and arranged to receive a mounting peg from a subsequent mounting peg system 10 attached thereto.
  • Distal or connecting end 34 is further constructed and arranged with an angular flange arrangement as demonstrated in each of the FIGS. 3 and 5. In a preferred embodiment, angle X is an obtuse angle, relative to a vertical plane, having a measurement between approximately 95 and 110°.
  • In use, a user will be provided with mounting peg system 10 and secure system 10 onto a wall and attach a desired number and arrangement of mounting pegs 10 as desired. As shown in FIG. 2, successive complimentary positions 13 of cavities 21 are utilized for supporting a bottle 14 as shown. The successively positioned pegs are such that one peg or peg system supports the main part of the bottle body and the second of the successive pegs positioned supports the bottle neck portion by nesting the bottle neck in the convex curvature portion.
  • In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 11, two or three bottles are arranged on a single pair of successive mounting pegs. This allows for greater use of storage space than traditional wine racks or wine shelves. As seen in FIG. 1, the separated view of elongated main body 36 and shortened main body 34 demonstrate construction of a peg to hold two or three bottles. Although the figure shows the separated view of elongated main body 36 shortened main body 34, any combination of two or more connected elongated main body 36, or two or more shortened main body 34, as well as combinations thereof are contemplated in the present invention.
  • While the invention has been described in its preferred form or embodiment with some degree of particularity, it is understood that this description has been given only by way of example and that numerous changes in the details of construction, fabrication, and use, including the combination and arrangement of parts, may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
