Abstract
An upper body apparel with concealed pouches includes an upper body garment, an opening, a concealed section, and a releasable fastener. The concealed section is positioned within the upper body garment, and the opening, which is positioned along a front pouch of the upper body garment, allows a wearer of the upper body garment to access the concealed section. The concealed section includes a left pocket, a right pocket, and at least one intermediary pocket so that the wear is able to store electronic device or any other personal items. The releasable fastener perimetrically positioned with the opening and allows the wear selectively open and close the opening upon wear's discretion.
Description
- The current application is a continuation-in-part (CIP) application of a U.S. non-provisional application Ser. No. 13/768,325 filed on Feb. 15, 2013. The U.S. non-provisional application Ser. No. 13/768,325 claims a priority to the U.S. Provisional Patent application Ser. No. 61/604,587 filed on Feb. 29, 2012.
- The present invention relates generally to an apparatus for a hooded or non-hooded sweatshirt. More specifically, the present invention is an apparatus for a hooded or non-hooded sweatshirt with a concealed pouch which is accessible through a front pouch of the hooded or non-hooded sweatshirt.
- Currently, a wearer of a hooded or non-hooded sweatshirt has no place to carry a concealed weapon or electronics devices such as smartphones, cell phones, electronic tablets, watches, etc. The wearer generally places said items in the front pouch of the hooded or non-hooded sweatshirt, but the wearer is in great risk of losing stored items because they are not properly secured within the front pouch. In addition, stored items within the front pouch can bounce around when the wearer is performing any sort of athletic activity because the front pouch does not contain any compartments in order to securely hold said items. This can be dangerous especially when the object being carried is a concealed weapon. Additionally, contact between multiple stored items within the front pouch can damage respective items, hindering the value and functionality.
- It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a hooded or non-hooded sweatshirt that has concealed inner pouches to place multiple items, such as weapons, smartphones, cell phones, electronic tablets, watches, etc. so that the stored items can be firmly secured within the hooded or non-hooded sweatshirt.

- The present invention is an upper body apparel with a concealed pouch so that valuable components, such as a wallet, a mobile phone, a flash light, a gun or any other related components, can be securely stored away. The present invention comprises an
upper body garment 1, anopening 2, a concealedsection 3, and a releasable fastener 4 as shown inFIG. 1 andFIG. 3 . In reference to the general configuration of the present invention, the concealedsection 3 is positioned within theupper body garment 1 and perimetrically connected to an inner surface of theupper body garment 1. The opening 2 traverses through theupper body garment 1 and functions as an access-slit for the concealedsection 3. The central positioning of theopening 2 and the concealedsection 3 provides a single access-slit for right-handed users and left-handed users of the present invention. The releasable fastener 4 is perimetrically connected to theopening 2 so the wearer is able to selectively open and close theopening 2 through the releasable fastener 4 in order to access the concealedsection 3. - In reference to
FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 , theupper body garment 1 is very similar to traditional sweatshirts, where theupper body garment 1 comprises afront portion 11, aback portion 12, awaistband 13, and afront pouch 14. Thefront portion 11 and theback portion 12 are adjacently connected to each other, and positioned atop thewaistband 13. Thewaistband 13 is perimetrically connected to thefront portion 11 and theback portion 12, forming a torso opening 2 for theupper body garment 1. Thewaistband 13 is preferably made from elastic materials, ribbing material, or a pull cord and adjustment ball so that thewaistband 13 can closely position around the waist of the wearer. Thefront pouch 14 is centrally positioned on thefront portion 11, adjacent to thewaistband 13. Thefront pouch 14 is externally connected onto thefront portion 11 by atop edge 15 and a bottom edge. The wearer of the present invention can easily access thefront pouch 14 from either a left side breach or a right side breach of thefront pouch 14, where the left side breach and the right side breach are oppositely positioned of each other in between thetop edge 15 and the bottom edge. Thefront portion 11 and theback portion 12 may comprise a pair of sleeve sections and a hooded section or a collared section depending upon different embodiment of theupper body garment 1. When theupper body garment 1 is worn by the wearer, thefront portion 11 and theback portion 12 are positioned around the upper body of the wearer, the pair of sleeve sections is positioned around the arms of the wearer, and the hooded section or the collared section is positioned around the neck area of the wearer. A right sleeve and a left sleeve of the pair of sleeve sections are connected with an arm ribbing band, where the arm ribbing band maintains the full length of the pair of sleeve sections from theupper body garment 1 to the arm ribbing band. - In reference to
FIG. 3 andFIG. 4 , the concealedsection 3 provides additional storage for items that need to be stored away. The concealedsection 3 comprises afront surface panel 31, aback surface panel 32, aleft pocket 33, aright pocket 34, at least oneintermediary pocket 35, aheadphone wire hole 38, and a plurality ofconnecting edges 39. Thefront surface panel 31 and theback surface panel 32 complete the main body of the concealedsection 3, where thefront surface panel 31 is adjacently positioned with theback surface panel 32. The concealedsection 3 preferably comprises a rectangular shape, although any other desired shapes can be used. The concealedsection 3 is oppositely positioned of thefront pouch 14, across thefront portion 11. More specifically, thefront surface panel 31 is oriented toward the inner surface of thefront portion 11 while theback surface panel 32 is oriented toward the inner surface of theback portion 12. In order to provide safe and efficient access, the concealedsection 3 is perimetrically connected to thefront portion 11 by the plurality of connectingedges 39. More specifically, the plurality ofconnecting edges 39 comprises aleft hip edge 40, alower waist edge 41, a right hip edge 42, and anupper pouch edge 43. In reference toFIG. 4 , theleft hip edge 40, thelower waist edge 41, the right hip edge 42, and theupper pouch edge 43 are perimetrically positioned around the concealedsection 3 and delineates the overall shape of the concealedsection 3. More specifically, theleft hip edge 40 is positioned parallel with the right hip edge 42 so that theleft hip edge 40 and the right hip edge 42 are able to connected with thefront portion 11 from each end. Thelower waist edge 41 is perpendicularly positioned with theleft hip edge 40 and the right hip edge 42, where thelower waist edge 41 extends in between theleft hip edge 40 and the right hip edge 42. Thelower waist edge 41 is connected to thefront portion 11 and is positioned adjacent to thewaistband 13. Theupper pouch edge 43 is oppositely positioned of thelower waist edge 41, where theupper pouch edge 43 extends in between theleft hip edge 40 and the right hip edge 42. Theupper pouch edge 43 is connected to thefront portion 11 and positioned adjacent to thetop edge 15. As a result, theleft hip edge 40, thelower waist edge 41, the right hip edge 42, and theupper pouch edge 43 form a rectangular shape for the concealedsection 3. The concealedsection 3 is preferably composed of 100% cotton and lined with waffle fabric, although any desirable materials can be used. - In reference to
FIG. 3 , theheadphone wire hole 38 traverses through the concealedsection 3 and is adjacently positioned with thetop edge 15. When a headphone set of the mobile phone or the portable music player is worn within the ears of the wearer, the headphone cord can be redirected though a neck opening 2 of the hooded section or the collared section and through theheadphone wire hole 38 in order to hide the dangling headphone cord with the present invention. As a result, the headphone cord can be completely hidden within the present invention and does not tangle or engage with the wearer's activities. - In reference to
FIG. 3-4 , theleft pocket 33, theright pocket 34, and the at least oneintermediary pocket 35 are connected to thefront surface panel 31 and can be used to store items such as wallets, mobile phones, portable music and video players, flash lights, and other essential components. Additionally, theleft pocket 33, theright pocket 34, and the at least oneintermediary pocket 35 are composed from elastic materials in order to provide secure storage for the stored items, as the elastic properties of the elastic materials constrict the movement of the stored items. More specifically, theleft pocket 33, theright pocket 34, and the at least oneintermediary pocket 35 are positioned along thelower waist edge 41. Theleft pocket 33 is adjacently positioned with theleft hip edge 40 while theright pocket 34 is adjacently positioned with the right hip edge 42. The at least oneintermediary pocket 35 is positioned in between theleft pocket 33 and theright pocket 34. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the at least oneintermediary pocket 35 comprises a leftintermediary pocket 36 and a rightintermediary pocket 37. Theleft intermediary pocket 36 and the rightintermediary pocket 37 are positioned adjacent to each other and positioned in between theright pocket 34 and theleft pocket 33. Furthermore, the leftintermediary pocket 36 is positioned in between theleft pocket 33 and the rightintermediary pocket 37. The rightintermediary pocket 37 is positioned in between theright pocket 34 and the leftintermediary pocket 36. - In reference to
FIG. 3 , theopening 2 is positioned parallel with thetop edge 15 and positioned atop thetop edge 15. As a result, theopening 2 allows the wearer to ambidextrously access thefront surface panel 31 of theconcealed section 3. Thus, providing access to theleft pocket 33, theright pocket 34, and the at least oneintermediary pocket 35. The length of theopening 2 is preferably equal to or slightly smaller than the overall length of thetop edge 15. In order to properly secure the stored items within theconcealed section 3, the releasable fastener 4 is perimetrically connected to theopening 2, where the wearer is easily able to access and operate the releasable fastener 4 in between a closed position and an opened position. The releasable fastener 4 can include, but is not limited to, hook and loop fasteners, zippers, magnetic fasteners, or any other types of easily operated fasteners. - The present invention further comprises a
flap 5 as shown inFIG. 1 andFIG. 3 . Theflap 5 is positioned over the releasable fastener 4 in order to cover the releasable fastener 4 so that theconcealed section 3 can be hidden within the present invention. Furthermore, theflap 5 is connected to thefront portion 11 through and a fixed extremity of theflap 5 and extends up to thetop edge 15, fully covering the releasable fastener 4. However, the wearer is easily able to access the releasable fastener 4 through an opened extremity of theflap 5 as the opened extremity is oppositely positioned of the fixed extremity. - The present invention further comprises a main tag, a first informational tag, and a second information tag. The main tag can be stitched, printed, or silk screened to the
back portion 12 and positioned adjacent with the hooded section or the collared section. For each different sizes of the present invention, such as small, medium, large, and etc., the size of the main tag is slightly different from one another. The main tag may include information such as the exact size of the present invention, the brand name, and other user related information. A front side and a reverse side of the first informational tag comprises material information, material caring information, a color code, a reference code, and other related information so that the consumers can be well educated about the present invention. The first information tag can be connected to an inside surface of thewaistband 13 or the inner surface of thefront portion 11 or theback portion 12. The second information tag, which is doubled sided and comprises information regarding the layout and the functionally of theconcealed section 3, is anchored on the arm ribbing band of the left sleeve or the right sleeve by an anchor. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Claims (19)
1. An upper body apparel with concealed pouches comprise:
an upper body garment;
an opening;
a concealed section;
a releasable fastener;
the upper body garment comprises a front pouch;
the concealed section comprises a plurality of connecting edges;
the front pouch being externally connected onto a front portion of the upper body garment;
the concealed section being oppositely positioned of the front pouch, across the front portion;
the concealed section being perimetrically connected to the front portion by the plurality of connecting edges;
the opening traversing through the front portion, along a top edge of front pouch; and
the releasable fastener being perimetrically connected to the opening.
2. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 1 comprise:
the upper body garment further comprises a back portion and a waistband;
the front portion and the back portion being positioned atop the waistband;
the front portion and the back portion being adjacently connected to each other;
the waistband being perimetrically connected to the front portion and the back portion; and
the front pouch being centrally positioned on the front portion, adjacent to the waistband.
3. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 1 comprise:
the concealed section further comprises a front surface panel and a back surface panel;
the front surface panel being oriented toward the front portion; and
the back surface panel being oriented toward a back portion of the upper body garment.
4. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 1 comprise:
the plurality of connecting edges comprises a left hip edge, a lower waist edge, a right hip edge, and an upper pouch edge;
the left hip edge, the lower waist edge, the right hip edge, and the upper pouch edge being perimetrically positioned around the concealed section;
the left hip edge being positioned parallel with the right hip edge;
the left hip edge and the right hip edge being connected to the front portion;
the lower waist edge being perpendicularly positioned with the left hip edge and the right hip edge;
the lower waist edge being extended in between the left hip edge and the right hip edge;
the lower waist edge being connected to the front portion, adjacent to a waistband of the upper body garment;
the upper pouch edge being oppositely positioned of the lower waist edge;
the upper pouch edge being extended in between the left hip edge and the right hip edge; and
the upper pouch edge connected to the front portion, adjacent to the top edge.
5. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 1 comprise:
a headphone wire hole;
the headphone wire hole traversing through the concealed section; and
the headphone wire hole being adjacently positioned with the top edge.
6. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 1 comprise:
the concealed section further comprises a left pocket, a right pocket, at least one intermediary pocket, and a front surface panel;
the left pocket, the right pocket, the at least one intermediary pocket being positioned along a lower waist edge of the plurality of connecting edges;
the left pocket being adjacently positioned with a left hip edge of the plurality of connecting edges;
the right pocket being adjacently positioned with a right hip edge of the plurality of connecting edges;
the at least one intermediary pocket being positioned in between the left pocket and the right pocket; and
the left pocket, the right pocket, and the at least one intermediary pocket being connected to the front surface panel.
7. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 6 comprise:
the at least one intermediary pocket comprises a left intermediary pocket and a right intermediary pocket;
the left intermediary pocket and the right intermediary pocket being positioned adjacent to each other, in between the right pocket and the left pocket;
the left intermediary pocket being positioned in between the left pocket and the right intermediary pocket; and
the right intermediary pocket being positioned in between the right pocket and the left intermediary pocket.
8. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 1 comprise:
the opening being positioned parallel with the top edge; and
the opening being positioned atop the top edge.
9. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the opening is configured to provide ambidextrously access to a front surface panel of the concealed section.
10. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 1 comprise:
a flap;
the flap being positioned over the releasable fastener; and
the flap being connected the front portion and extended up to the top edge.
11. An upper body apparel with concealed pouches comprise:
an upper body garment;
an opening;
a concealed section;
a releasable fastener;
a flap;
the upper body garment comprises a front pouch;
the concealed section comprises a plurality of connecting edges;
the front pouch being externally connected onto a front portion of the upper body garment;
the concealed section being oppositely positioned of the front pouch, across the front portion;
the concealed section being perimetrically connected to the front portion by the plurality of connecting edges;
the opening traversing through the front portion, along a top edge of front pouch;
the releasable fastener being perimetrically connected to the opening;
the flap being positioned over the releasable fastener; and
the flap being connected the front portion and extended up to the top edge.
12. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 11 comprise:
the upper body garment further comprises a back portion and a waistband;
the front portion and the back portion being positioned atop the waistband;
the front portion and the back portion being adjacently connected to each other;
the waistband being perimetrically connected to the front portion and the back portion; and
the front pouch being centrally positioned on the front portion, adjacent to the waistband.
13. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 11 comprise:
the concealed section further comprises a front surface panel and a back surface panel;
the front surface panel being oriented toward the front portion; and
the back surface panel being oriented toward a back portion of the upper body garment.
14. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 11 comprise:
the plurality of connecting edges comprises a left hip edge, a lower waist edge, a right hip edge, and an upper pouch edge;
the left hip edge, the lower waist edge, the right hip edge, and the upper pouch edge being perimetrically positioned around the concealed section;
the left hip edge being positioned parallel with the right hip edge;
the left hip edge and the right hip edge being connected to the front portion;
the lower waist edge being perpendicularly positioned with the left hip edge and the right hip edge;
the lower waist edge being extended in between the left hip edge and the right hip edge;
the lower waist edge being connected to the front portion, adjacent to a waistband of the upper body garment;
the upper pouch edge being oppositely positioned of the lower waist edge;
the upper pouch edge being extended in between the left hip edge and the right hip edge; and
the upper pouch edge connected to the front portion, adjacent to the top edge.
15. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 11 comprise:
a headphone wire hole;
the headphone wire hole traversing through the concealed section; and
the headphone wire hole being adjacently positioned with the top edge.
16. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 1 comprise:
the concealed section further comprises a left pocket, a right pocket, at least one intermediary pocket, and a front surface panel;
the left pocket, the right pocket, the at least one intermediary pocket being positioned along a lower waist edge of the plurality of connecting edges;
the left pocket being adjacently positioned with a left hip edge of the plurality of connecting edges;
the right pocket being adjacently positioned with a right hip edge of the plurality of connecting edges;
the at least one intermediary pocket being positioned in between the left pocket and the right pocket; and
the left pocket, the right pocket, and the at least one intermediary pocket being connected to the front surface panel.
17. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 16 comprise:
the at least one intermediary pocket comprises a left intermediary pocket and a right intermediary pocket;
the left intermediary pocket and the right intermediary pocket being positioned adjacent to each other, in between the right pocket and the left pocket;
the left intermediary pocket being positioned in between the left pocket and the right intermediary pocket; and
the right intermediary pocket being positioned in between the right pocket and the left intermediary pocket.
18. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 11 comprise:
the opening being positioned parallel with the top edge; and
the opening being positioned atop the top edge.
19. The upper body apparel with concealed pouches as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the opening is configured to provide ambidextrously access to a front surface panel of the concealed section.
