Abstract

The Edge Comb invention is a versatile, ergonomic hair grooming comb that provides the user safe, close contact with hair fibers in small and difficult to groom areas.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention pertains to the field of hair care tools. More particularly, the present invention pertains to the technical field of hair combs.
  • CPC Cooperative Patent Classification:
  • Classification A—HUMAN NECESSITIES, Hairdressing or Shaving Equipment; Manicuring or Other Cosmetic Treatment, Single-piece combs, A45D 24/02.
  • Classification 132 TOILET—219 Comb: subclass is indented under subclass 212, 141 subclass is indented under subclass 126. 126 subclass is indented under subclass 219. 212 HAIR DEVICE: subclass is indented under the class definition. 215 Mustache: subclass is indented under subclass 212. 216 Eyelash or eyebrow: subclass is indented under subclass 212.
  • Classification D28, COSMETIC PRODUCTS AND TOILET ARTICLESTOILET ARTICLES AND BEAUTY PARLOR EQUIPMENT NOT ELSEWHERE SPECIFIED: subclass is indented under the class definition Design 10 Hair device not elsewhere specified This subclass has no definition. 21 Comb, this subclass has no definition. 99 Miscellaneous (18) and (20)
  • Combs do not have small teeth that are uniformly set up and angled for versatile, safe, accurate and maximum smoothing, combability and detailing of hair fibers and other fibers in small areas. Comb handles and teeth are not ergonomically set up for detailing, smoothing and combability of hair fibers and other fibers in small areas in opposing locations.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a detailing comb for hair fiber and other fibers.
  • Combs do not have small teeth that are uniformly set up and angled for accurate and maximum smoothing, combability and detailing of hair fibers and other fibers in small areas.
  • Comb handles are not ergonomically set up for maximum access, detailing, smoothing and combability of hair fibers and other fibers in small areas in opposing locations.
  • Combs typically have hard angles at the attachment sight located at the base of the teeth that can damage hair fibers and other fibers.
  • Two separate areas of comb teeth are not present on each end of a hand held comb for opposite side to side detailed grooming of hair fibers and other fibers in small areas.
  • Presently there are no ergonomically designed combs with two areas of teeth set at a 90 degree angle attached to a smooth rounded base that increase access and safe combability and smoothing of hair fibers and other fibers in small areas and hair on opposing side areas.
  • The Edge Comb provides small teeth uniformly set at a 90 degree angle for safe, accurate detailing, smoothing and combability of hair fibers and other fibers with an ergonomic handle design, no hard angles and two separate comb teeth groups for equal benefit to fibers located on opposite sides and in small areas. The Edge Comb allows for safer, accurate combing and styling of hair in small areas along the hairline and facial hair on opposing sides such as mustaches, sideburns, eyebrows and beards.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a view of the 90 degree angled comb teeth on the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a view of the ergonomic design of the center handle of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a view of the smooth surface of the base and attachment sight of the uniform comb teeth on the present invention;
  • FIG. 4 is a view of the teeth distributed in two separate areas on the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Referring now to the invention in more detail, FIGS. 1 and 4 shows the aspect of evenly distributed teeth in two separate areas.
  • FIG. 1 shows both areas of comb teeth are set at a 90 degree angle.
  • FIG. 2 shows the aspect of the handle location between the two separate areas of teeth which provides ergonomic handling of the invention. The ergonomic handle aspect in FIG. 2 along with aspects in FIGS. 1 and 4 allow the greatest access to grooming hair fibers and other fibers located in single and opposing small areas.
  • The aspects of the invention in FIGS. 1, 2 and 4 allow for versatile, better grooming and detailing of small areas along the hairline and facial hair such as mustaches and beards. These aspects also provide more benefits to the grooming of hair on opposing sides such as sideburns and eyebrows.
  • FIG. 3 shows the rounded angle aspect of the comb teeth attachment sight. This provides a smooth surface minimizing hair fiber and other fiber damage while using the invention for detailing, smoothing and combing hair and other fibers. Typically hair along the hairline and installed artificial hair is thin, fine and fragile. Sharp angles, edges and seams present at the base of combs scratch, tear and damage hair fibers and other fragile fibers.
  • Presently there are no combs with an ergonomically designed handle , two areas of teeth set at a 90 degree angle, attached to a smooth rounded base that provide versatile, safe, accurate grooming and smoothing of hair fibers and other fibers in small areas and hair on opposing side areas.
  • Manufacturing of this invention is achieved with the use of a steel mold, injection molding processes using plastic materials.

Claims (2)

    I claim an (1) ergonomic, (2) grooming hair comb that provides the user safe, close contact with hair fibers in small and difficult to groom areas:
  1. I. The comb of claim is (1) ergonomic because the handle design and the design of the comb teeth allow for comfortable, accurate and safe use in applications such as:
    a) Holding the comb handle comfortably between the thumb and fingers of the hand combined with the 90 degree angle of the comb teeth provide less wrist strain and maximum comb contact to hair fibers along the back of the head hairline when smoothing hairs in any direction required by a hair style such as a ponytail.
    b) Accessing hair in difficult to reach areas of the face, such as mustache hair under the nose, is more comfortable because the handle of the comb along with the 90 degree angle of the comb teeth place the fingers and the hand holding the comb handle in a less stained position where they do not interfere with access of the comb teeth. to the facial hair providing less wrist and hand strain in facial hair grooming comb positions.
    c) Because there are two sets of comb teeth at a 90 degree angle located on each side of the comb handle, more comfortable grooming of hair located on opposing sides of the head, such as sideburns and eyebrows, is accomplished with less wrist strain while allowing the comb teeth to closely follow the contour of the face.
    d) The design of the 90 degree angle of the comb teeth and the comb teeth being attached to a rounded base eliminate scratching, tearing and damage to the finer hair fibers typically found around the hairline providing a high. level of safer combing and smoothing
  2. II. The comb of claim is intended for accurate and effective use in a variety of (2) grooming activities for hair fibers in small and difficult areas such as:
    a) Two groups of small comb teeth set at a 90 degree angle on each side of a handle allow more accuracy when grooming and detailing finer, shorter, more fragile and flyaway hair fibers typically found around the hairline into smoother hairstyles, such as ponytails and buns.
    b) Two groups of small comb teeth set at a 90 degree angle on each side of a handle allow more accurate grooming of hair in small and difficult to reach areas such as mustache hair under the nose and hair located close to braids and at the baseline of installed hair extension and wig styles.
    c) Two groups of small comb teeth set at a 90 degree angle on each side of the handle allow more uniform grooming of, hair located on opposing sides of the head such as sideburns and eyebrows.
    d) The small size of the comb with the two groups of small comb teeth set at a 90 degree angle on each side of the handle allow the user to access hair more accurately in difficult and small areas of the face makes it an effective tool assisting in more detailed and accurate grooming activities such as cutting and shaving a variety of men's facial hair styles.
