Description
- This application claims the benefit under 35 USC §119(a)-(d) of German Application No. 20 2014 104 923.1 filed Oct. 16, 2014, the entirety of which is incorporated herein by reference.
- The present invention relates to a wall element for a drawer side and a drawer side having such a wall element, and a drawer having a corresponding drawer side and to a piece of furniture having such a drawer.
- The prior art already discloses various embodiments of in particular hollow-chamber drawer sides for drawers.
- Hollow-chamber drawer sides have the advantage that drawer slide systems can be accommodated therein, with the result that for example overall height can be saved, and can be maximized for a drawer in a case with an undermount slide.
- Such hollow-chamber drawer sides can be realized with different surfaces, in particular, through the choice of color of a bent sheet-metal part that forms the outer contour of the hollow-chamber drawer side.
- The invention is based on the object of expanding the possible designs of a drawer side, in particular a hollow-chamber drawer side.
- First of all, the invention proceeds from a wall element for a drawer side of a drawer, having a drawer side body which a base part which has a cavity for receiving a drawer slide system and a casing element for encasing the base part. The essence of the invention is now that the wall element forms at least the upper part of the drawer side with an upper end face and opposing vertical wall sections, and that the wall element is designed to be plugged onto the drawer side body from above and to be fixed to the drawer side body.
- The wall element preferably covers at least a part of the casing element. Optionally, it is configured such that it at least partially covers the casing element in the side region, too.
- The wall element is preferably configured for a drawer side body which is capable of providing the supporting forces for the drawer system, that is to say already forms on its own a statically load-bearing system for a drawer slide system. The wall element is snap-fastened on the drawer side body and/or clamped thereto and therefore preferably defines the visual appearance of the drawer side in important regions.
- Furthermore, it is preferred for a wiping lip for abutment against a top side of a drawer bottom to be provided. In this way, a good attachment to the rest of the drawer can be achieved with the wall element. As seen internally from above, the wall element thus defines the entire outer side of the drawer side from the drawer bottom to the upper end face.
- In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, in the state attached to the casing element of the drawer side, the wall element forms a cavity, extending along the length of the drawer side, above the casing element.
- This produces great flexibility in specifying the height of the drawer side, which is freely adaptable over the entire height of the cavity of the wall element via a drawer side body. The base part with the casing element does not obstruct at any point. Preferably, the wall element extends along the entire length of the drawer side.
- In order to be able to realize various design impressions with little complexity on the drawer side, it is additionally proposed that the wall element has a recess for insertion of a decorative surface. The decorative surface can extend for example over the entire surface on the outer side from the recess to the end face and along the full length of the wall element. In a furthermore preferred embodiment of the invention, the wall element covers a part of the casing element of the drawer side in the mounted state. Optionally, the wall element is configured to butt in a flush manner against a horizontal section of the drawer side body, in particular of the casing element in the mounted state.
- In another configuration of the invention, it is furthermore advantageous for the wall element to form the outer contour of the drawer side, which is visible to a user internally from above and externally from above in a state mounted on a finished drawer.
- Preferably, the outer contour is completely formed by the wall element on a finished drawer when viewed externally from above or internally from above, i.e. the wall element completely covers the drawer side body apart from a lower opening for a drawer slide system and end openings for attaching the front wall and rear wall.
- It is furthermore advantageous for the wall element to extend along more than half the length of the drawer side. In this way, the drawer side can be formed predominantly by the wall element.
- It is additionally advantageous for the wall element to have marked fastening points for attaching to the drawer side body. For example, the wall element is mounted, for example clipped, on vertically extending mounting posts at the marked fastening points, in particular by being moved from above.
- In an additionally favorable embodiment of the invention, the wall element is an angled sheet-metal part. Such a part can be produced cost-effectively and in particular with different decorations, in particular colors.
- A number of exemplary embodiments are explained in more detail by way of the drawings below, with further details and advantages being specified.
-
