Abstract

A packaging box is provided wherein the product in the box can be well presented and easily removable from the box when the box is opened. A four bar mechanism is made of a series of paperboards hinged to each other. When the box is opened, the egg-shaped product is pushed up and moved to a more prominent or exposed presentation position.

Description

    RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application claims priority from U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 61/746,639 of the same title filed 28 Dec. 2012, which is incorporated herein by reference.
  • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • This invention relates to a packaging box. More specifically, it relates to an improved packaging box for an egg-shaped camera.
  • BACKGROUND
  • In the field of packaging boxes for small sized products such as digital cameras, cell phones, the alignment of an inner product and/or accessories and the structure of box are well known. However, normally the product is not well presented in the packaging box and not easily taken out of the box.
  • SUMMARY
  • It is an object of the present invention to provide a packaging box wherein the product (e.g. an egg-shaped apparatus) in the box can be well presented and easily removable from the box when the box is opened.
  • It is a further object of the present invention to accomplish this with a four bar mechanism which is made of a series of paperboards hinged to each other. When the box is opened, the egg-shaped product is pushed up and moved to a more prominent or exposed presentation position.
  • The packaging box includes a top box housing, a bottom box housing, a hinged door and a holder wall set in the bottom box housing; an aperture is set in the hinged door for the apparatus to be partially presented; the apparatus is fixed on the holder wall; when the hinged door opens, the holder wall moves to present the apparatus more prominently.
  • Further, the apparatus moves up and/or turns to be presented more completely or more prominently when the holder wall moves.
  • Further, the packaging box includes an interior top wall fixed to the bottom box housing, a first hinge wall and a second hinge wall; wherein the hinged door is hinged to the back end of the interior top wall; under the interior top wall, the holder wall is hinged to the back end of the interior top wall; the first hinge wall and the second hinge wall are hinged to each other at a hinge line; the other end of the first hinge wall is hinged to the back end of the hinged door; the other end of the second hinge wall is hinged to the middle of the holder wall; the hinged door, the first hinge wall, the second hinge wall and the holder wall form a four bar mechanism.
  • Further, the packaging box includes two interior side walls and an interior front wall, wherein the interior top wall, said two interior side walls and the interior front wall define a space for storing the apparatus; and a space for accessory box is defined in front of the interior front wall.
  • Further, the packaging box includes two sliders installed inside along the lower part of the interior side wall, wherein the second hinge wall is narrower than the first hinge wall; the left and right tips of the lower end of the first hinge wall can slide on the upper end of the slider walls.
  • Further, the packaging box includes a pull tab installed on the far end of the hinged door for lifting and opening it.
  • Further, the box is made of paperboard.
  • The packaging box is rectangular and includes a top box housing (100) as a cover and a bottom box housing (200). Preferably, the top box housing and the bottom box housing are hinged together at one short end of the box. The opening plane is preferably oblique.
  • A hinged door (210) covers the upper opening of the bottom box housing (200), and there is a hinged door aperture (212) in the center of and defined by the hinged door (210). Under the hinged door (210), an interior top wall (220), two interior side walls (230, 240) and an interior front wall (250) define a space for storing the egg-shaped apparatus (10). A top wall aperture (222) is set in the center of and defined by the interior top wall (220), corresponding to the hinged door aperture (212) in the hinged door (210). The hinged door (210) is hinged to the back end of the interior top wall (220).
  • Under the interior top wall (220), a holder wall (310) is hinged to the back end of the interior top wall (220); a first hinge wall (320) and a second hinge wall (330) are hinged to each other at a hinge line (325). The second hinge wall (330) can be narrower than the first hinge wall (320).
  • The other end of the first hinge wall (320) is hinged to the back end of the hinged door (210). The other end of the second hinge wall (330) is hinged near the middle of the holder wall (310).
  • There are apertures near the middle of the holder wall (310) and the upper part of the second hinge wall (330) for storing the egg-shaped apparatus (10). The egg-shaped apparatus (10) is fixed on the holder wall (310) by a plastic holder (312).
  • Two slider walls (340, 350) are installed inside along the lower part of the interior side walls (230, 240). The left and right tips of the lower end of the first hinge wall (320) can slide on the upper end of the slider walls (340, 350).
  • A space for accessories is defined in front of the interior front wall (250) of the box.
  • The back end part of the hinged door (210), the first hinge wall (320), the second hinge wall (330) and the holder wall (310) form a four bar mechanism, such that, when the hinged door (210) is opened, the first hinge wall (320) moves downwards along the slider walls (340, 350), the holder wall (310) is pushed upward by the second hinge wall (330), therefore the egg-shaped apparatus (10) goes up slowly along with the motion of the hinged door (210) being opened and becomes more prominent and/or offers a better presentation.
