Abstract

A traffic-light-free overpass at intersections has roads arranged as follows: arranging from west to east a straight lane for ground-level motor vehicles, a straight lane for ground-level non-motor vehicles and pedestrians, a left-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles, a right-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles; arranging from east to west a straight lane for elevated motor vehicles, a straight lane for elevated non-motor vehicles and pedestrians, a left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, a right-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles; arranging from south to north a straight lane for underground motor vehicles, a straight lane for underground non-motor vehicles and pedestrians, a right-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, a left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles, a left-U-turn lane for underground motor vehicles; arranging from north to south a straight lane for underground motor vehicles, a straight lane for underground non-motor vehicles and pedestrians, a left-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles, a right-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles, and a left-U-turn lane for underground motor vehicles. The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections of this functional invention is built on the established roads rather than the new lands, which saves the capital investment, and has a complete function, where this overpass has exclusive lanes in each direction without crossings. The scale of the overpass is 5 times less than those in the market, which is beneficial to the rational use of the metropolitan tracks and traffic resources.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • This functional invention relates to a multi-level traffic system architecture for traffic flow crossing intersections, and more particularly to a traffic-light-free overpass at intersections.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • Currently, the overpass as disclosed in the prior arts has the deficiencies including a large scale, complicated layout, high construction costs and incomplete functions, requires the assistance of the traffic lights to control the traffic flow, fails to functionally meet the needs of motor vehicles making a left turn and U-turn and the needs of pedestrians and non-motor vehicles crossing the roads without obstacle, which consequently incurs the unsmooth traffic flow and affects the life quality of civil residents.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An objective of this functional invention is to provide a traffic-light-free overpass at intersections, which has a reasonable arrangement and achieves the easy access and smooth traffic flow, thereby solving the problems existing in the prior arts.
  • The technical issue to be solved by this functional invention is realized by the following technical solution. This functional invention includes a traffic-light-free overpass at intersections, which is characterized by that this overpass has roads arranged as follows:
  • (1) arranging from west to east:
  • a straight lane for ground-level motor vehicles (motorized vehicles), and a straight lane for ground-level non-motor vehicles (non-motorized vehicles) and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane for ground-level motor vehicles;
  • a left-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles, which is diverged to left at the ground level and merging to a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
  • a right-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to right and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from north to south;
  • (2) arranging from east to west:
  • a straight lane for elevated motor vehicles, and a straight lane for elevated non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane for elevated motor vehicles;
  • a left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to left and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from north to south, where the end of the straight lane for elevated motor vehicles extends to the ground level and continues going straight from north to south and underpassing the left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
  • a right-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles, which is diverged to right and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for ground-level motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
  • (3) arranging from south to north:
  • a straight lane for underground motor vehicles, and a straight lane for underground non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane for underground motor vehicles;
  • a right-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to right and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from west to east;
  • a left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to left and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from east to west;
  • a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles, which is joined with the left-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles travelling from west to east.
  • The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections of this functional invention is advantageous in the following aspects.
  • 1) When the overpass is built strictly abiding with the design standards, the scale of the overpass will be 5 times less than those in the market, which facilitates the rational use of the metropolitan tracks and traffic resources.
  • 2) The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections of this functional invention is built on the established roads rather than the new lands, which saves the capital investment.
  • 3) The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections of this functional invention has a complete function, where this overpass has exclusive lanes in each direction without crossings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The accompanying drawings are included to provide a further understanding of the invention, and are incorporated in and constitute a part of this specification. The drawings illustrate embodiments of the invention and, together with the description, serve to explain the principles of the invention.
  • FIG. 1 is a schematic structural view of this functional invention.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS The First Embodiment
  • Referring to 1, a traffic-light-free overpass at intersections is provided, which has roads arranged as follows:
  • (1) arranging from west to east:
  • a straight lane 2 for ground-level motor vehicles, and a straight lane 1 for ground-level non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane 2;
  • a left-turn lane 4 for ground-level motor vehicles, which is diverged to left at the ground level and merging to a section of straight lane 18 for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
  • a right-turn lane 3 for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to right and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from north to south;
  • (2) arranging from east to west:
  • a straight lane 11 for elevated motor vehicles, and a straight lane 10 for elevated non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane 11;
  • a left-turn lane 13 for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to left and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from north to south, where the end of the straight lane for elevated motor vehicles extends to the ground level and continues going straight from north to south and underpassing the left-turn lane 19 for elevated motor vehicles from south to north;
  • a right-turn lane 12 for ground-level motor vehicles, which is diverged to right and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for ground-level motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
  • (3) arranging from south to north:
  • a straight lane 16 for underground motor vehicles, and a straight lane 15 for underground non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane 16;
  • a left-turn lane 19 for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to left and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from east to west;
  • a section of straight lane 18 for elevated motor vehicles, which is joined with the left-turn lane 4 for ground-level motor vehicles travelling from west to east;
  • (4) arranging from north to south:
  • a straight lane 6 for underground motor vehicles, and a straight lane 5 for underground non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane 6;
  • a left-turn lane 8 for ground-level motor vehicles, underpassing the straight lane 18 for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
  • a right-turn lane 7 for ground-level motor vehicles.
  • The Second Embodiment
  • In the traffic-light-free overpass at intersections according to the first embodiment, the right-turn lane 14 for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north is arranged next to the left-turn lane 13 for elevated motor vehicles travelling from east to west; and a left-turn lane 19 for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north is arranged next to the right-turn lane 3 for elevated motor vehicles travelling from west to east.
  • The Third Embodiment
  • In the traffic-light-free overpass at intersections according to the first embodiment or the second embodiment, pedestrian steps are arranged between each underground passage and the ground and between the ground and the elevated passages, for pedestrians changing directions from the west-east direction to the south-north direction or from the south-north direction to the west-east direction.
  • The Fourth Embodiment
  • In the traffic-light-free overpass at intersections according to the first embodiment, the second embodiment or the third embodiment, four non-motor vehicle lanes 9 are arranged at the ground level, which include a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the south-north direction to make a left turn, a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the west-east direction to make a right turn, a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the south-north direction to make a right turn, and a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the west-east direction to make a left turn.
  • It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made to the structure of the present invention without departing from the scope or spirit of the invention. In view of the foregoing, it is intended that the present invention cover modifications and variations of this invention provided they fall within the scope of the following claims and their equivalents.

Claims (7)

1. A traffic-light-free overpass at intersections, comprising roads arranged as follows:
(1) arranging from west to east:
a straight lane for ground-level motor vehicles, and a straight lane for ground-level non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane for ground-level motor vehicles;
a left-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles, which is diverged to left at the ground level and merging to a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
a right-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to right and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from north to south;
(2) arranging from east to west:
a straight lane for elevated motor vehicles, and a straight lane for elevated non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane for elevated motor vehicles;
a left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to left and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from north to south, where the end of the straight lane for elevated motor vehicles extends to the ground level and continues going straight from north to south and underpassing the left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
a right-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles, which is diverged to right and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for ground-level motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
(3) arranging from south to north:
a straight lane for underground motor vehicles, and a straight lane for underground non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane for underground motor vehicles;
a left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles, which is diverged to left and continuously extends to form a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from east to west;
a section of straight lane for elevated motor vehicles, which is joined with the left-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles travelling from west to east;
(4) arranging from north to south:
a straight lane for underground motor vehicles, and a straight lane for underground non-motor vehicles and pedestrians which is next to the straight lane for underground motor vehicles;
a left-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles, underpassing the straight lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north;
a right-turn lane for ground-level motor vehicles.
2. The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections according to claim 1, wherein the right-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north is next to the left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from east to west; the left-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from south to north is next to the right-turn lane for elevated motor vehicles travelling from west to east.
3. The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections according to claim 1, wherein pedestrian steps are arranged between each underground passage and the ground and between the ground and the elevated passages, for pedestrians changing directions from the west-east direction to the south-north direction or from the south-north direction to the west-east direction.
4. The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections according to claim 1, wherein four non-motor vehicle lanes are arranged at the ground level, which include a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the south-north direction to make a left turn, a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the west-east direction to make a right turn, a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the south-north direction to make a right turn, and a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the west-east direction to make a left turn.
5. The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections according to claim 1, wherein the scale of the overpass is 5 times less than those in the market.
6. The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections according to claim 2, wherein four non-motor vehicle lanes are arranged at the ground level, which include a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the south-north direction to make a left turn, a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the west-east direction to make a right turn, a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the south-north direction to make a right turn, and a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the west-east direction to make a left turn.
7. The traffic-light-free overpass at intersections according to claim 3, wherein four non-motor vehicle lanes are arranged at the ground level, which include a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the south-north direction to make a left turn, a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the west-east direction to make a right turn, a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the south-north direction to make a right turn, and a lane for non-motor vehicles travelling in the west-east direction to make a left turn.
