Abstract
The Hot Pic FIGS. 1 and 3, is used to detangle soften and condition coarse or very curly hair by applying moderate to warm heat. The guides FIGS. 4, 5, 14, 15, 16, 24 and 25 that are placed between each heated prong protect the scalp. It is applied by stroking the hair with the device. The hair must be completely dry and free from water before use of the Hot Pic.
Afro-textured hair is term used to refer to the typical texture of Black African hair. It is often referred to as thick, bushy, coarse or wooly. Each strand of this hair type grows in a tiny spring-like, corkscrew shape. Its unique shape also renders it very prone to breakage when combed or brushed.
The Hot Pic, FIGS. 1 and 3 is intended for natural afro-textured hair not to straighten the hair, but to give ample heat while combing through that will allow detangling and changing the texture for styling. This can prepare the hair for additional hair styling such as a bouncy afro, twists or cornrow.
The Hot Pic, FIGS. 1 and 3, invention will deliver warm to medium heat to the hair thus conditioning by heated prongs or elements, FIGS. 9, 19 and 29, while stroking the hair with the device. The hair must be completely dry and free from water before use of the Hot Pic FIGS. 1 and 3. It is advisable to also rub a little hair oil on the hair prior to use. This will allow the result of hair softness and manageability.

- U.S. Pat. No. 1,523,461, issued to JUDGE SWAN in Jun. 2, 1924 is one of the earliest electric hot combs invented. No. 1,523,461 discloses a comb compromising a body provided at one end with a head and equipped at its other end with a shank, a heating element surrounding the shank and threaded at its inner end upon the shank, and a handle surrounding the heating element and threaded at its outer end the outer end of the heating element.
- U.S. Pat. No. 3,760,821, issued to Willard T. Weddington in Sep. 25, 1973. Claims (1)
1. a heated comb, the hot pic FIGS. 1 and 3 with protective guides, FIGS. 4 , 5, 14, 15, 16, 24 and 25 used for the detangling afrotextured, kinky or very curly hair. It gives moderate heat to the hair will condition the hair and allow subsequent afro centric hair styles with ease and simplicity. The Hop Pic FIGS. 1 and 3 , is used to detangle, soften and condition coarse or very curly hair by applying moderate to warm heat evenly to the hair.
