Abstract

Furniture pull-out comprising two drawers arranged on top of one another, wherein the two drawers are connected to one another via a common front panel or via a common rear wall or via a common side wall, and two extension guides for the two drawers, wherein each of the two drawers is associated with precisely one of the two extension guides, wherein the extension guides are arranged on opposite sides of the two drawers, wherein the extension guides are arranged at least partially on an underside of the drawers.

Description

  • The invention concerns a furniture pull-out unit having the features of the classifying portion of claim 1, and an article of furniture having a furniture carcass and at least one such furniture pull-out unit.
  • A furniture pull-out unit of the general kind set forth and an article of furniture which is also of the general kind set forth are known from the state of the art from EP 2 241 220 dated Oct. 20, 2010. In that furniture pull-out unit two drawer extension guides are respectively arranged at a side of the furniture pull-out unit, wherein the drawer extension guides are respectively disposed at a side wall of the furniture pull-out unit. A disadvantage with that design is that the fact of mounting the drawer extension guides to the side wall of the furniture pull-out unit means that the internal space in the furniture pull-out unit is necessarily reduced as it is also necessary to find space between the drawer and the furniture carcass side walls for accommodating the two drawer extension guides.
  • The object of the invention is to avoid the above-described disadvantage and to provide a furniture pull-out unit which is improved over the state of the art, and an improved article of furniture.
  • That object is attained by a furniture pull-out unit having the features of claim 1 and an article of furniture having the features of claim 11.
  • Because the extension guides are at least partially arranged at an underside of the drawers, the furniture pull-out unit together with the drawer extension guides is smaller in width than is the case with a furniture pull-out unit according to the state of the art, in which the drawer extension guides are arranged entirely at the side of the furniture pull-out unit. As a result the drawers of the furniture pull-out unit can be of a wider structure than the drawers of the furniture pull-out units in the state of the art, whereby it is possible to achieve an increase in space, with the furniture carcass width remaining the same.
  • A further advantage afforded by the fact that the drawer extension guides are at least partially provided at the underside of the drawers is that, in that way, it is possible to use drawer extension guides which are employed as standard in the case of simple commercially usual drawers having two respective extension guides, whereby it is possible to reduce production costs.
  • Advantageous configurations of the invention are defined in the appendant claims.
  • Thus it is for example particularly preferably provided that the drawer rails are arranged completely at the underside of the drawers and within a drawer width, whereby the drawer rails do not project laterally beyond the drawers and thus the entire furniture pull-out unit, whereby the drawer width is now only determined simply and solely by the width of the furniture carcass.
  • A particularly advantageous structural variant provides that the two drawers are connected together only by way of the front panel and by way of the rear wall, wherein upper drawer side walls of the upper drawer and lower drawer side walls of the lower drawer are unconnected. This configuration therefore provides that a continuous hole extends between the two drawers, whereby it is made possible for a user to be able to get into the drawers both from a left-hand and also from a right-hand side.
  • Protection is also specifically claimed for an article of furniture having a furniture carcass and at least one furniture pull-out unit of the kind described.
  • Further details and advantages of the present invention are described more fully hereinafter by means of the specific description with reference to the embodiments by way of example illustrated in the drawings in which:

  • FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of an article of furniture 8. The article of furniture 8 has a furniture carcass 9 and a furniture pull-out unit 1. The furniture pull-out unit 1 in turn has inter alia in this embodiment two drawers 10 and 20, wherein the two drawers 10 and 20 are arranged in mutually superposed relationship. The two drawers 10 and 20 or the furniture pull-out unit 1 are pulled out by way of two extension guides 11 and 21, the rail extension guide 11 being arranged at the underside of the drawer 10 and the rail extension guide 21 being arranged at the underside of the drawer 20 (not shown, see in that respect FIGS. 2 and 5).
  • The two drawers 10 and 20 of the furniture pull-out unit 1 are connected by way of a common front panel 2 and a common rear wall 3 (see FIGS. 3 and 4).
  • FIG. 2 shows a perspective rear side view of the article of furniture 8 of FIG. 1, in which the furniture carcass 9 is shown in cut-away form and thus permits a view on to the two extension guides 11 and 21 of the furniture pull-out unit 1.
  • In this preferred embodiment the two extension guides 11 and 21 each have a respective carcass rail 13 and 23, a central rail 16 and 26 and a drawer rail 14 and 24 (for a view of the drawer rail 14 and 24 respectively see FIGS. 5, 6 and 7).
  • In this preferred embodiment provided on the two extension guides 11 and 21 is a respective height adjusting device 7 which serves to orient the drawers 10 and 20 in respect of their height whereby the furniture pull-out unit 1 can be set up relative to the furniture carcass 9.
  • FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of a furniture pull-out unit 1. This furniture pull-out unit 1 has two drawers 10 and 20 which are connected together only by way of their front panel 2 or by way of their rear wall 3 respectively, wherein the upper drawer side walls 15 of the upper drawer 10 and the lower drawer side walls 25 of the lower drawer 20 are unconnected—apart from the front panel 2 and the rear wall 3.   • FIG. 5 shows a front view of an article of furniture 8 with a furniture carcass 9 and a furniture pull-out unit 1 provided therein. The furniture pull-out unit 1 has two mutually superposed drawers 10 and 20, the two drawers 10 and 20 being connected together by way of the common rear wall 3. In addition the furniture pull-out unit 1 has the two extension guides 11 and 21 for the two drawers 10 and 20, wherein each of the two drawers 10 and 20 is respectively associated with precisely one of the two extension guides 11 and 21, the extension guides 11 and 21 being arranged at mutually opposite sides of the two drawers 10 and 20 and the two extension guides 11 and 21 being at least partially arranged at an underside 12 and 22 respectively of the drawers 10 and 20.
  • It can also be clearly seen from this view that the drawer rails 14 and 24 are arranged completely at the underside 12 and 22 of the drawers 10 and 20 and within the drawer width 4 of the two drawers 10 and 20.
  • FIG. 6 shows a detail view of the upper drawer 10 and its rail extension guide 11 in FIG. 5. FIG. 7 shows a detail view of the lower drawer 20 and its rail extension guide 21 in FIG. 5.
  • It can be clearly seen from those two views in FIGS. 6 and 7 that the extension guides 11 and 12 each have at least a carcass rail 13 or 23, respectively, and a drawer rail 14 or 24, respectively, the drawer rails 14 and 24 being arranged substantially beneath the drawers. In this case the drawer rails 11 and 21 in the mounted position are of a U-shaped, downwardly open cross-section. In addition at their undersides 12 and 22 the drawers 10 and 20 each have a longitudinal recess 6 and the drawer rails 14 and 24 of the extension guides 11 and 21 project into those longitudinal recesses 6 of the drawers 10 and 20. That makes it possible to achieve a highly compact furniture pull-out unit 1.
  • It is particularly preferably provided in that respect that the longitudinal recesses 6 at the undersides 12 and 22 of the two drawers 10 and 20 are identical in respect of their position in the drawers 10 and 20. Thus it is possible to use identical drawers 10 and 20, irrespective of whether the drawers 10 and 20 are to be provided at the upper or at the lower position of the furniture pull-out unit 1.
  • This can be clearly seen from FIG. 6 in which the extension guide 11 is fixed to the left-hand side of the furniture carcass and projects into the recess 6 and from FIG. 7 in which the extension guide 21 is fixed to the right-hand side of the furniture carcass and projects into an identical recess 6 in the drawer 20.

Claims (11)

1. A furniture pull-out unit comprising
two mutually superposed drawers, wherein the two drawers are connected together by way of a common front panel or by way of a common rear wall or by way of a common side wall, and
two extension guides for the two drawers, wherein respectively associated with each of the two drawers is precisely one of the two extension guides, the extension guides being arranged at opposite sides of the two drawers,
wherein the extension guides are arranged at least partially at an underside of the drawers.
2. A furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 1, wherein extension guides respectively have at least a carcass rail and a drawer rail, the drawer rails being arranged substantially beneath the drawers.
3. A furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 2, wherein the drawer rails are arranged completely at the underside of the drawers and within a drawer width.
4. A furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 2, wherein the drawer rails in the mounted position are of a U-shaped, downwardly open cross-section.
5. A furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 2, wherein at their undersides the drawers respectively have a longitudinal recesses and the drawer rails of the extension guides project into the longitudinal recesses of the drawers.
6. A furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 5, wherein the longitudinal recesses at the underside of the two drawers are identical in respect of their position in the drawers.
7. A furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 1,wherein the two drawers are connected together by way of a common front panel and by way of a common rear wall.
8. A furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 7, wherein the two drawers are connected together only by way of the front panel and by way of the rear wall, wherein upper drawer side walls of the upper drawer and lower drawer side walls of the lower drawer are unconnected.
9. A furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 1, wherein the common rear wall of the two drawers has two recesses for receiving the extension guides of the drawers.
10. A furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 1, wherein at least one of the two—preferably both—extension guides has a height adjusting device for orienting the drawers in respect of their height.
11. An article of furniture having a furniture carcass and at least one furniture pull-out unit as set forth in claim 1.
