Abstract

The present invention relates to a travel luggage bag that includes an air mattress. The main components of the present invention includes a first compartment, where the first compartment includes an inflatable air mattress; a second compartment, where second compartment, includes a mechanism to inflate the air mattress; and a divider, where said divider separates the first compartment and second compartment. In one particular embodiment, the luggage bag includes an air motor and an air hose to inflate the air mattress. The air hose connects to the air mattress and enables the transfer of air into the mattress for inflation thereof. The air mattress may include an air valve, where the air valve provides a mechanism to release air from the air mattress. The travel luggage bag may also include a releasable first side, where the first side provides access to the air mattress for inflation thereof.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention
The present invention relates to travel luggage that includes an inflatable air mattress for reclining and sleeping.
2. Description of Related Art
Many travelers use airlines to travel to various destinations for vacation and business purposes. Many of the passengers on the commercial airlines must schedule flights throughout the United States and around the world based on the set schedules provided by commercial airlines. As is known, a typical commercial airline may seat 200 or 300 passengers and will be subject to scheduling at various hubs throughout the world. Many of the busiest airports land and depart planes for various destinations. One drawback to air travel is uncertain weather conditions and therefore in inclement conditions air travel may be delayed. Commercial airlines schedule flights between hubs and consequently use a single airplane for travel routes throughout the country and various locations in the world. When inclement weather happens passengers who may be waiting for an incoming airplane may be subject to a delay. Further delays may involve mechanical problems with particular airplanes and therefore further delays may occur.
Passengers and travelers are subject to the various delays that may be encountered during their travel. Many passengers must make connecting flights and therefore will be subject to delays upon connections if inclement weather occurs or mechanical problems occur with the airplane. On occasion, passengers sometimes must spend several hours in the airport due to delays. As can be seen during the holiday rush, several times passengers must sleep at the airport and they typically can be seen sleeping on the floor or in the chairs provided in the airport. Further passengers typically have carry-on baggage handling baggage that they may carry onto their flight while experiencing their delay. Consequently it would be advantageous to have a convenient means to recline in a comfortable position during an extended layover at an airport.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a travel luggage bag that includes an air mattress. The main components of the present invention includes a first compartment, where the first compartment includes an inflatable air mattress; a second compartment, where second compartment, includes a means to inflate the air mattress; and a divider, where said divider separates the first compartment and second compartment. In one particular embodiment, the means to inflate includes an air motor and an air hose. The air hose connects to the air mattress and enables the transfer of air into the mattress for inflation thereof. The air mattress may include an air valve, where the air valve provides a mechanism to release air from the air mattress. The travel luggage bag may also include a releasable first side, where the first side provides access to the air mattress for inflation thereof. The air motor may be battery operated and rechargeable.

It should be understood that the detailed description and specific examples, while indicating exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, are intended for purposes of illustration only and are not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a travel luggage with an air mattress extendable therefrom. The present invention provides travel luggage that includes two compartments. One compartment is provided for the placement of clothing, toiletries and other travel accessories and a second compartment is provided where an inflatable mattress is stored. The present invention allows for the extension of an inflatable mattress out of one side of the luggage. The mattress may be inflated through the use of an air motor as provided within the luggage. The air motor may be battery operated and easily rechargeable as needed by the user. This luggage along with the air mattress provides a means for a stranded traveler to create a mattress to recline thereon during an extended layover at an airport.
In reference to FIG. 1, a perspective view of a Travel Luggage 100 is depicted. The travel luggage 100 includes a Main Body 50 with a First Side 52. As shown in FIG. 1, the First Side 52 opens and allows the extension of a Mattress 30 for use by the user. The Mattress 30 extends from a First Compartment 53, as shown in FIG. 2 of the Luggage 50. In addition to the First Compartment 53, the Luggage 50 also includes a Second Compartment 51 also shown in FIG. 2. When in a closed position the Luggage 50 is similar to any other respective travel luggage that is used on the market. Travel Luggage 50 according to the present invention includes two compartments, one for storing clothing and other travel accessories in Second Compartment 51 and the First Compartment 53 for the storage of an inflatable air mattress.
FIG. 3 depicts a sectional view of the Luggage 50 in accordance with the present invention. As shown in FIG. 3 Air Mattress 30 is stored within the First Compartment 53 of the Luggage 50. The First Side 52 is releasable and enables the deployment of the Air Mattress 30 for inflation. An Air Motor 40 is also depicted in FIG. 3. The Air Motor 40 resides within a small portion of the Second Compartment 51. This Air Motor 40 provides the means for the inflation and deflation of the Air Mattress 30 upon deployment. In another exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a yoga mat, exercise mat, sleeping bag or sleeping mat may be stored in the First Compartment 53 for access by the user.
FIG. 4 depicts a first embodiment of the Luggage 50 in accordance with the present invention. FIG. 4 depicts the Air Mattress 30 in an inflated position where the First Side 52 is released for the deployment of the Air Mattress 30. The Air Mattress 30 further includes an Air Valve 33. The Air Motor 40 is a battery operated device and includes an on and off switch that is accessible by the user to provide the means for the inflation of the Air Mattress 30. An Air
Hose 34 is connected to the Mattress 30 as shown in FIG. 4. In this particular embodiment, the Air Motor 40 is deployed within the Second Compartment 51 of the Luggage 50. This arrangement allows for the connection of the Air Hose 34 through a Divider 57 that divides the First Compartment and the Second Compartment of the Luggage 50. The Luggage 50 may also include a means to support the Luggage 50 in a vertical position. As shown in FIG. 4, a Brace 56 is shown to provide the means to support. The Brace 56 extends from the Second Compartment 51 as shown and includes a Foot Pad 58. The Brace 56 and Foot Pad 58 may be used by the user to support the Luggage 50.
In reference to FIG. 5, an alternative arrangement for the present invention is depicted. In this second embodiment depicted in FIG. 5, the Air Motor 40 is shown stored within the First Compartment 53 along with the Air Mattress 30. Therefore although the Air Mattress 30 is shown in an inflated position in FIG. 5 it may be deflated and place within the First Compartment 53 along with the Air Motor 40 for storage. This arrangement allows for the use of more space within the Second Compartment 51 for the storage of travel items.
The present invention provides a means for a weary traveler to inflate a mattress and to enjoy a comfortable air mattress to recline on during an extended layover at an airport. The present invention helps to solve the problem of comfort for the traveler during these extended layovers that happen frequently during travel. The Air Motor 40 provides a means to both inflate and deflate the Air Mattress 30. The Air Valve 33 may be opened to allow for the deflation of the Air Mattress 30 once the user completes use thereof. This dual feature luggage according to further invention provides travel options during travel and also serves the purpose of storing the necessary luggage for the travelers' endeavors. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A travel luggage bag with additional comfort features comprising:

a. a first compartment, where the first compartment includes an inflatable air mattress;

b. a second compartment, where second compartment, includes a means to inflate the air mattress; and

c. a divider, where said divider separates the first compartment and second compartment.

2. The travel luggage bag according to claim 1, where the means to inflate includes an air motor and an air hose, where the air hose connects to the air mattress and enables the transfer of air into the mattress for inflation thereof.

3. The travel luggage bag according to claim 1, where the air mattress includes an air valve, where the air valve provides a mechanism to release air from the air mattress.

4. The travel luggage bag according to claim 1 further including a releasable first side, where the first side provides access to the air mattress for inflation thereof.

5. The travel luggage bag according to claim 2, where the air motor is battery operated.
