- the present invention is a system and method. More specifically, the present invention is a system and method for engaging a plurality of fans.
- Fancam which captures a 360 degree high definition or HD image.
- Fancam has been utilized successfully, it is inferior in four vital areas, namely it captures a single generic moment and it takes a minimum of twenty-four hours and often several days to deliver the image to fans.
- the Fancam process is also manual in that fans need to remember to come back and login to a portal site a day or more after the game before they may view and interact with the content.
- the system and method for engaging fans simplifies and automates the process by curating content through a subscription based service.
- Fancam also offers limited monetization. First off, they're done as one-off events. Not only is the system and method for engaging fans a season-long sponsor ready platform, but it may also be applied to multiple sport and event properties taking place in a venue throughout the year. Secondly, as on ongoing fan engagement platform, the system and method for engaging fans captures vital data about fan behaviors. Fan analytics will provide Switch United Design Inc. with an ongoing revenue stream.
- the present invention is a system and method. More specifically, the present invention is a system and method for engaging a plurality of fans.
- the system to engage a plurality of fans includes a notification system having a goal trigger system, the goal trigger system sends notification of a plurality of marked events; a plurality of camera arrays having a camera management system, the camera management system receiving the notification of the marked events, the camera management system detects and transports a plurality of new files; a server system with a processor system, a communications interface, a communications system, an input system and an output system, the server system having access to a communications network, the server system includes a plurality of rig servers that transport the new files, a venue server that stores the new files and applies meta data and performs image processing on the new files and a virtual server that stores the new files from the venue server; and a memory system with an operating system, a communications module, a web browser module, a web server application and a fan engaging non-transitory storage media, wherein the marked events, the new files, the meta data, a plurality of marked events data is stored on the memory system.

- Fans may have a game watching experience with the utilization of cameras showing other fans as an exciting event occurs. Current camera systems that have this capability include Fancam, which captures a 360 degree high definition or HD image. Furthermore, while Fancam has been utilized successfully, it is inferior in four vital areas, namely it captures a single generic moment and it takes a minimum of twenty-four hours and often several days to deliver the image to fans. Fans want instant reward so they may share their experience as it happens on digital and social media platforms. The Fancam process is also manual in that fans need to remember to come back and login to a portal site a day or more after the game before they may view and interact with the content. The system and method for engaging fans simplifies and automates the process by curating content through a subscription based service. Content is pushed to a registered user's mobile phone seconds after the action. At the same time they're prompted to comment and/or share the content all within the same app interface, making the content quick and easy to interact with. Fancam also offers limited monetization. Finally, because the system and method for engaging fans content is based on individual reactions to key moments and is delivered in real-time, there is potential for revenue-share agreements with team and league rights holders for in-app purchases of premium content (i.e. 5-second video clip of goal) by fans and users.
- The method for engaging fans includes registering a fan user a seat location within a venue utilizing an application, photographing with one or more camera arrays when an event trigger occurs, transferring the photographs from the one or more camera arrays to a camera rig server, aggregating and uploading the photographs to a virtual server based on registered user priority, associating the photographs to each of the registered fan users and sending the registered fan users a push notification that the photographs are available for download to a registered user's application.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a system and method for engaging fans that geo-locates registered users within the confines of a large venue.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a system and method for engaging fans that captures, processes, and delivers to users a HD image of their goal celebration moment or other predetermined event in near real-time.

- It is an object of the present invention to provide a system and method for engaging fans that curates content through a subscription based service where content is pushed to a registered user's mobile phone seconds after the captured action.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a system and method for engaging fans that has a season long sponsor ready platform, but may also be applied to multiple sport and event properties taking place in a venue throughout the year.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a system and method for engaging fans that captures vital data about fan behaviors.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a system and method for engaging fans that is based on individual reactions to key moments and is delivered in real-time, with potential for revenue share agreements with team and league rights holders for in-app purchases of premium content by fans and users.

The process begins with the user registering their seat location within the venue using the mobile application. When an event trigger occurs (e.g. goal, save, basket, pyrotechnics, or other suitable event trigger, etc.) the system automatically fires multiple cameras arrays to simultaneously take several photographs capturing the reaction of every single fan within the venue at that precise moment. The photographs are then transported and processed through three distinct phases. In the first phase the photographs are transferred from the individual cameras to the camera rig server. There the images are processed as a collection and then transported from each camera rig server to the venue server. In phase two the venue server aggregates the collections and uploads the images based on registered user priority to the
- virtual server. In the final phase the virtual server associates the images to individual registered users, and sends them a push notification that their image is available for download to their mobile application or web application. The mobile and web application will allow the user to apply some simple edits and then share via popular social networks.
- The system and method for engaging fans enables the owners of multi-purpose venues (e.g. Staples Center), along with their home teams and affiliated sponsors to do the following: (1) Engage and reward every individual fan within the Staples Center at a Lakers or Kings game, concert, or other event (e.g. UFC, WWE) in near real-time with an HD image of their celebration moment when a goal is scored, the band takes the stage, or a wrestler wins the match; (2) Sell new and unique advertising/sponsorship inventory against the above noted entertainment events; (3) Monetize fans in-venue via in-app purchases related to the download, editing, and sharing of their HD images; and, (4) Reach beyond the venue, and beyond the game/event as fans at the event sharing their images with friends through digital and social media.
- Seconds after a goal, a basket, when the band takes the stage, or other event moments that matters an image is sent to participating fans' phones as a permanent memory. An on-screen prompt will ask if they want to post their shot and comments to social networks, or offer a chance to enter a sponsored sweepstakes. It's a win for the fans with a memento to keep and a win for the teams, who see fan engagement extend beyond the game and open-up new and exciting opportunities for sponsorship and monetization.
- While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention may be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.
