Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an inflatable cushion seat and back support for use on bleachers or any application with hard or uncomfortable seating.
  • An existing problem is sitting on hard bleachers, leaning back on bleachers, and attempting to prevent back pain. No device is available to solve this problem.
  • As can be seen, there is a need for solutions to these and other problems.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In one aspect of the present invention, a method of sitting comfortably on a hard seat among bleachers comprises: providing an inflatable seating system comprising: a seat portion comprising a seat arm, a back stop arm connected to the seat arm, and a seat inflatable cushion connected to the seat arm; and a back rest portion comprising a back rest arm, a bleacher rest arm connected to the back rest arm, and a back rest inflatable cushion connected to the back rest arm; inflating the seat inflatable cushion; resting the seat portion on the hard seat so that the seat arm rests against an upper surface of the hard seat and the back stop arm rests against a back surface of the hard seat; inflating the back rest inflatable cushion; resting the back rest portion on a second hard seat behind the hard seat so that the bleacher rest arm rests on an upper surface of the second hard seat; sitting on the seat portion; and resting a back of a user against the back rest portion.
  • In one aspect, the seat portion comprises a non-slip material. In one aspect, the back rest portion comprises a non-slip material. In one aspect, the non-slip material comprises rubber. In one aspect, the seat inflatable cushion comprises a plurality of ribs. In one aspect, the back rest inflatable cushion comprises a plurality of ribs. In one aspect, the seat portion is not connected to the back rest portion. In one aspect, the method further comprises deflating the seat inflatable cushion and the back rest inflatable cushion.
  • These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1: is a perspective view of one embodiment of the invention shown in use.
  • FIG. 2: is a perspective view of one embodiment of the invention item 12 seat inflatable cushion.
  • FIG. 3: is a side view of one embodiment of the invention item 12 seat inflatable cushion.
  • FIG. 4: is a perspective view of one embodiment of the invention item 10 back rest inflatable cushion.
  • FIG. 5: is a side view of one embodiment of the invention item 12 back rest inflatable cushion.
  • FIG. 6: is a section detail view of one embodiment of the invention along line 6-6 in FIG. 5.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention.
  • Referring now to the figures, the following reference numbers may refer to elements of the invention:
    • 10: is the back rest inflatable cushion.
    • 12: is the seat inflatable cushion.
    • 14: is the non-slip material wall made, for example, of butyl rubber, or any other high friction material known in the art, such as plastic, polymers, or composite materials.
    • 16: is the air-port.
    • 18: is the cushion rib.
    • 20: is the back rest inflatable cushion bleacher rest arm.
    • 22: is the back rest inflatable cushion back rest arm.
    • 24: is the seat inflatable cushion seat arm.
    • 26: is the seat inflatable cushion back stop arm.
    • 28: is the exemplary operator.
    • 30: is the exemplary bleacher seat board.
    • 32: is the exemplary rear bleacher board.
  • The present invention provides an easy, portable cushion for one's back and bottom. The inflatable seat cushion protects one's rear from a hard bleacher surface while the back cushion allows one to lean back on an edge of the next bleacher seat with padding.
  • This invention is an improvement on what currently exists. No existing solution offers an inflatable seat cushion that will not slide off the seat. No one offers a custom-formed cushion to fit the seat edge behind the user to allow the user to lean back on the seat edge without discomfort.
  • To use the present invention, unfold the seat cushion 12, inflate with a few blows of air, place the non-slip tab or stop arm 26 over the back of the seat (on which the user will sit) and sit on the cushion 12. Next, inflate the back cushion 10, fit to the front edge of the seat behind the user, and lean back onto the back cushion 10.
  • In one aspect of the present invention, a method of sitting comfortably on a hard seat among bleachers comprises: providing an inflatable seating system comprising: a seat portion comprising a seat arm 24, a back stop arm 26 connected to the seat arm 24, and a seat inflatable cushion 12 connected to the seat arm 24; and a back rest portion comprising a back rest arm 22, a bleacher rest arm 20 connected to the back rest arm 22, and a back rest inflatable cushion 10 connected to the back rest arm 22. The seat arm 24 may be substantially perpendicular to the back stop arm 26, or at an angle between approximately 60 and 120 degrees, so that the back stop arm 26 can hook around the side of the bleacher seat board 30. The back rest arm 22 may be substantially perpendicular to the bleacher rest arm 20 so that the bleacher rest arm 20 can rest flat against the rear bleacher seat board 32 while allowing the user to rest his or her back against the back rest portion. The connections between seat arm 24 and back stop arm 26, or between back rest arm 22 and bleacher rest arm 20, may or may not be adjustable, such as via a pivot or swivel.
  • The method may further comprise inflating the seat inflatable cushion 12; resting the seat portion on the hard seat 30 so that the seat arm 24 rests against an upper surface of the hard seat 30 and the back stop arm 26 rests against a back surface of the hard seat 30; inflating the back rest inflatable cushion 10; resting the back rest portion on a second hard seat 32 behind the hard seat 30 so that the bleacher rest arm 20 rests on an upper surface of the second hard seat 32; sitting on the seat portion; and resting a back of a user against the back rest portion.
  • In one aspect, the seat portion comprises a non-slip material 14. In one aspect, the back rest portion comprises a non-slip material 14. In one aspect, the non-slip material 14 comprises a wall made, for example, of butyl rubber, or any other high friction material known in the art, such as plastic, polymers, or composite materials. In one aspect, the seat inflatable cushion 12 and/or the back rest inflatable cushion 10 comprises a plurality of ribs 18. In one aspect, the seat portion is not connected to the back rest portion, or they may be connected by a rope, string, ribbon, or other connection. In one aspect, the method further comprises deflating the seat inflatable cushion and the back rest inflatable cushion after use, and may further include folding the pieces up tightly for storage.
  • It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
