Description
- This application claims benefits of Chinese Patent Application No. 201210409085.X, filed on Oct. 23, 2012 in the State Intellectual Property Office of China, the disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
- The present disclosure relates to a fan assembling structure and a heat dissipating device.
- The heat generated from different electronic devices operation increases with higher working frequency. As a result, it is important to remove heat from electronic devices.
- The conventional fan is provided with four fixing holes at four corners of its frame. Four bolts are inserted in the fixing holes for fixing the fan. However, tools such as a screwdriver and four times of repeat screwing are required to fix the fan, thereby resulting in high labor hours. Besides, when the fan is fixed by screws, the fixing hole may be damaged from improper torque force by the screwdriver, and the fan may be unseated. Due to repeatedly assembling and detaching, the self-tapping screw and the plastic frame may be worn out, and the entire fan may be damaged.
- Embodiments of the invention provide a fan assembling structure to solve the labor-costing, bad-assembling and worn-out problems during assembling the fan in the conventional technology.
- One aspect of the invention provides a fan assembling structure comprising a first assembling board for assembling a fan thereon and a second assembling board connected to the first assembling board, the fan comprising a frame and blades disposed in the frame assembled to the first assembling board, the frame having an upper board, a lower board and a circular connector connected between the upper board and the lower board, the lower board including a first side edge, a second side edge, a third side edge and a fourth side edge in sequential connection. The first assembling board comprises a bottom plate and a side plate perpendicular to the bottom plate, the bottom plate comprises a first side edge, a second side edge, a third side edge and a fourth side edge in sequential connection, the side plate is connected to the fourth side edge of the bottom plate, and the bottom plate comprises a ventilating area corresponding to the fan, and two bending edges are disposed at opposite sides of the ventilating area along a direction parallel to the first side edge and the third side edge of the bottom plate and extend towards the ventilating area to form a sliding slot between the two bending edges and the bottom plate, the slide slot is used for sliding the fan therethrough from the second side edge of the bottom plate on the first assembling board to a predetermined position.
- For example, the bottom plate and the side plate are integrally formed.
- For example, a distance between the second side edge and the fourth side edge of the bottom plate is equal to a distance between the second side edge and the fourth side edge of the lower board of the fan.
- For example, the side plate comprises a protrusion protruding inwardly at a side facing the fan and between the two bending edges, and the second assembling board comprises a protrusion protruding inwardly at a side facing the fan and between the two bending edges.
- For example, a distance between upper ends of the two protrusions and the bottom plate is less than or equal to a distance between the lower surface of the upper board and the lower surface of the lower board of the fan.
- For example, the two protrusions abut against the circular connector of the fan.
- For example, each of the bending edges comprises a blocking portion extending perpendicularly from the bottom plate and a horizontal portion connected to the blocking portion, a distance between the two blocking portions is equal to a distance between the first side edge and the third side edge of the lower board of the fan.
- For example, a distance between the horizontal portion of each bending edge and the bottom plate is equal to a thickness of the lower board.
- For example, a distance between the horizontal portion of each bending edge and the bottom plate is equal to a distance between the upper surface of the upper board and the lower surface of the lower board.
- For example, the bending edge comprises an inclined portion forming an angle of less than 90 degrees with respect to the bottom plate for holding the first side edge and the third side edge of the lower board.
- Another aspect of the invention provides a heat dissipating device comprising a fan and a fan assembling structure, the fan comprising a frame and blades disposed in the frame, the frame having an upper board, a lower board and a circular connector connected between the upper board and the lower board, the lower board including a first side edge, a second side edge, a third side edge and a fourth side edge in sequential connection, the assembling structure comprising a first assembling board for assembling the fan and a second assembling board connected to the first assembling board, the first assembling board comprising a bottom plate and a side plate perpendicular to the bottom plate, the bottom plate comprises a first side edge, a second side edge, a third side edge and a fourth side edge in sequential connection, the side plate is connected to the fourth side edge of the bottom plate. The bottom plate comprises a ventilating area corresponding to the fan, and two bending edges are disposed at the periphery of the ventilating area along the direction parallel to the first side edge and the third side edge and extend towards the ventilating area to form a sliding slot between the two bending edges and the bottom plate, the slide slot is used for sliding the fan therethrough from the second side edge of the bottom plate on the first assembling board to a predetermined position.

fan 300 is assembled between a first assemblingboard 100 such as a lower cover of a chassis and a second assemblingboard 200 such as an upper cover of the chassis, but the invention is not limited thereto. - As shown in
FIG. 1 throughFIG. 4 , an embodiment provides a fan assembling structure including a first assembling board (such as a lower cover of a chassis) 100, a second assembling board 200 (such as an upper cover of the chassis) and afan 300 assembled to the first assemblingboard 100. - The
fan 300 comprises aframe 310 andblades 320 disposed in theframe 310. Theframe 310 comprises anupper board 311 and alower board 312 spaced with a certain distance and acircular connector 313 connected between theupper board 311 and thelower board 312. Thelower board 312 comprises afirst side edge 3121, asecond side edge 3122, athird side edge 3123 and afourth side edge 3124 in sequential connection and constituting a quadrangle (usually a square). - The first assembling
board 100 comprises abottom plate 110 and aside plate 120 perpendicular to thebottom plate 110. Thebottom plate 110 comprises afirst side edge 1101, asecond side edge 1102, athird side edge 1103 and afourth side edge 1104 in sequential connection and constituting a quadrangle (usually a rectangle). The distance between thesecond side edge 1102 and thefourth side edge 1104 of thebottom plate 110 is equal to the distance between thesecond side edge 3122 and thefourth side edge 3124 of thelower board 312. Theside plate 120 is connected to thefourth side edge 1104 of thebottom plate 110. In the embodiment, thebottom plate 110 and theside plate 120 are integrally formed. In other embodiments, theside plate 120 may be fixed to a side edge of thebottom plate 110 by riveting or welding. Thebottom plate 110 is provided with aventilating area 111 formed by a plurality of through holes on thebottom plate 110, and the position of theventilating area 111 corresponds to the position of thefan 300. Twobending edges 112 are disposed on opposite sides of theventilating area 111 along the direction parallel to thefirst side edge 1101 and thethird side edge 1103 and bending towards theventilating area 111, thereby forming asliding slot 113 between the twobending edges 112 and thebottom plate 110. In an embodiment of the invention, thebending edges 112 are formed by punching thebottom plate 110. Thebending edges 112 may also be disposed at thebottom plate 110 by other methods such as riveting. The second assemblingboard 200 may be assembled (such as by buckling) to the first assemblingboard 110, namely the second assemblingboard 200 is connected to thesecond side edge 1102 of thebottom plate 110. - A side of the
side plate 120 is provided with ainward protrusion 121 towards the fan (as shown inFIG. 2 ) and between the twobending edges 112, and a side of the second assemblingboard 200 is provided with ainward protrusion 201 towards the fan (as shown inFIG. 4 ) and between the twobending edges 112, the distance between the upper ends of the twoprotrusions upper board 311 and the lower surface of thelower board 312, namely the positions of the twoprotrusions circular connector 313 of thefan 300. Theprotrusion 121 can be formed by punching theside plate 120, and theprotrusion 201 can be formed by punching the second assemblingboard 200. - As shown in
FIG. 5 , in an embodiment, eachbending edge 112 comprises ablocking portion 1121 extending perpendicularly from thebottom plate 110 and ahorizontal portion 1122 connected to theblocking portion 1121. The distance between the blockingportions 1121 of the two bending edges 112 (the width of the sliding slot 113) is equal to the distance between thefirst side edge 3121 and thethird side edge 3123 of thelower board 312. The distance between thehorizontal portion 1122 of thebending edge 112 and the bottom plate 110 (the height of the sliding slot 113) is equal to the thickness of thelower board 312. As shown inFIG. 6 , in another embodiment, thebending edge 112 comprises aninclined portion 1123 forming an angle of less than 90 degrees with respect to thebottom plate 110 for holding thefirst side edge 3121 and thethird side edge 3123 of thelower board 312. During assembling, thefan 300 is pushed from thesecond side edge 1102 of thebottom plate 110, thefirst side edge 3121 and thethird side edge 3123 of thelower board 312 are engaged into thesliding slot 113 and slide along thesliding slot 113 until thefan 300 abuts against theside plate 120 and theprotrusion 121 abuts against thecircular connector 313. The second assemblingboard 200 is then assembled (such as by buckling) to the first assemblingboard 100, theprotrusion 201 abuts against thecircular connector 313 to fix the fan to the predetermined position. - As shown in
FIG. 7 , in still another embodiment, eachbending edge 112 comprises ablocking portion 1121 extending perpendicularly from thebottom plate 110 and ahorizontal portion 1122 connected to theblocking portion 1121. The distance between the blockingportions 1121 of the twobending edges 112 is equal to the distance between thefirst side edge 3121 and thethird side edge 3123 of thelower board 312. The distance between thehorizontal portion 1122 of thebending edge 112 and thebottom plate 110 is equal to the distance between the upper surface of theupper board 313 and the lower surface of thelower board 312. During assembling, thefan 300 is pushed from thesecond side edge 1102 of thebottom plate 110, theupper board 311 and thelower board 312 are engaged into thesliding slot 113 and slide along thesliding slot 113 until thefan 300 abuts against theside plate 120 and theprotrusion 121 abuts against thecircular connector 313. - The second assembling
board 200 is then assembled (such as by buckling) to the first assemblingboard 100, and theprotrusion 201 abuts against thecircular connector 313 to fix the fan to the predetermined position. - According to an embodiment of the invention, a heat dissipating device comprising a fan and a fan assembling structure as discussed above is provided.
- One or more embodiments of the invention provides one or more of the following beneficial effects.
- When the fan is assembled, the fan is guided by the sliding slot, and is abutted and fixed by the side plate and its protrusion, and the second assembling board and its protrusion. As a result, other fixing parts are not needed, and the labor-costing is reduced.
- The bad-assembling and worn-out risk of the fan are also decreased.
- The assembling structure according to exemplary embodiments may be used without changing the existing structure of the fan.
- Although the disclosure has been described as above in reference to several exemplary embodiments, it is to be understood that the terms used therein are just illustrative and exemplary rather than restrictive. Since the disclosure can be applied in various forms without departing from the spirit or principle of the invention, it is to be understood that the abovementioned embodiments will not be limited to any specific detail mentioned above, rather, they should be construed broadly in the spirit or concept of the invention defined by the appended claims. Therefore, the present invention aims to cover all the modifications or variations falling within the protection scope defined by the appended claims.
Claims (11)
1. A fan assembling structure, comprising a first assembling board for assembling a fan thereon and a second assembling board connected to the first assembling board, the fan comprising a frame and blades disposed in the frame assembled to the first assembling board, the frame having an upper board, a lower board and a circular connector connected between the upper board and the lower board, the lower board including a first side edge, a second side edge, a third side edge and a fourth side edge in sequential connection, wherein,
the first assembling board comprises a bottom plate and a side plate perpendicular to the bottom plate, the bottom plate comprises a first side edge, a second side edge, a third side edge and a fourth side edge in sequential connection, the side plate is connected to the fourth side edge of the bottom plate, and
the bottom plate comprises a ventilating area corresponding to the fan, and two bending edges are disposed at opposite sides of the ventilating area along a direction parallel to the first side edge and the third side edge of the bottom plate and extend towards the ventilating area to form a sliding slot between the two bending edges and the bottom plate, the slide slot is used for sliding the fan therethrough from the second side edge of the bottom plate on the first assembling board to a predetermined position.
2. The fan assembling structure according to claim 1 , wherein the bottom plate and the side plate are integrally formed.
3. The fan assembling structure according to claim 1 , wherein a distance between the second side edge and the fourth side edge of the bottom plate is equal to a distance between the second side edge and the fourth side edge of the lower board of the fan.
4. The fan assembling structure according to claim 1 , wherein the side plate comprises a protrusion protruding inwardly at a side facing the fan and between the two bending edges, and the second assembling board comprises a protrusion protruding inwardly at a side facing the fan and between the two bending edges.
5. The fan assembling structure according to claim 4 , wherein a distance between upper ends of the two protrusions and the bottom plate is less than or equal to a distance between the lower surface of the upper board and the lower surface of the lower board of the fan.
6. The fan assembling structure according to claim 4 , wherein the two protrusions abut against the circular connector of the fan.
7. The fan assembling structure according to claim 1 , wherein each of the bending edges comprises a blocking portion extending perpendicularly from the bottom plate and a horizontal portion connected to the blocking portion, a distance between the two blocking portions is equal to a distance between the first side edge and the third side edge of the lower board of the fan.
8. The fan assembling structure according to claim 7 , wherein a distance between the horizontal portion of each bending edge and the bottom plate is equal to a thickness of the lower board.
9. The fan assembling structure according to claim 7 , wherein a distance between the horizontal portion of each bending edge and the bottom plate is equal to a distance between the upper surface of the upper board and the lower surface of the lower board.
10. The fan assembling structure according to claim 1 , wherein the bending edge comprises an inclined portion forming an angle of less than 90 degrees with respect to the bottom plate for holding the first side edge and the third side edge of the lower board.
11. A heat dissipating device comprising a fan and a fan assembling structure, the fan comprising a frame and blades disposed in the frame, the frame having an upper board, a lower board and a circular connector connected between the upper board and the lower board, the lower board including a first side edge, a second side edge, a third side edge and a fourth side edge in sequential connection, the assembling structure comprising a first assembling board for assembling the fan and a second assembling board connected to the first assembling board, the first assembling board comprising a bottom plate and a side plate perpendicular to the bottom plate, the bottom plate comprises a first side edge, a second side edge, a third side edge and a fourth side edge in sequential connection, the side plate is connected to the fourth side edge of the bottom plate,
wherein the bottom plate comprises a ventilating area corresponding to the fan, and two bending edges are disposed at the periphery of the ventilating area along the direction parallel to the first side edge and the third side edge and extend towards the ventilating area to form a sliding slot between the two bending edges and the bottom plate, the slide slot is used for sliding the fan therethrough from the second side edge of the bottom plate on the first assembling board to a predetermined position.
