Abstract
A adjustable pillow comprises: a neck supporter, as a pad lying on the bed for supporting the neck; and two head supporters, as pads set behind the said neck supporter, therebetween is a space for head to cross over, hence not only neck and head are supported, but also ventilation on the rear side of the head of a lying person is achieved.
Description
- The present invention relates to an adjustable pillow, particularly to an adjustable pillow wherein the neck and head of a lying person are supported with ventilation on the rear side of his head, and wherein the heights of his neck and head are adjustable.
- Pillows are used for supporting neck and head in sleep for avoiding back pain, numb hands and feet, stiff neck, insomnia or unsmooth breathing due to bad adjustment of the cervical vertebra.
- A conventional pillow is designed along neck and head for supporting neck and head.
- However, a conventional pillow usually wraps the head in a large area for supporting the head, which results in bad ventilation on the rear side of the head, therefore sleep quality is affected.
- Besides, in a conventional pillow, for adjusting heights of neck and head, usually elastic material is applied. However, bad positioning of a user usually results in improper deformation, so the disadvantages mentioned above are not avoided. That means, a conventional pillow does not offer a structure for filling individual needs wherein heights of neck and head of a lying person are adjustable.
- The main object of the present invention is to provide an adjustable pillow, which supports the neck and head of a lying person with ventilation on the rear side of his head.
- For achieving above object, the adjustable pillow of the present invention comprises: a neck supporter, as a pad lying on the bed, wherein the neck of a person lying on the back is laid on the neck supporter and two head supporters, set as pads behind the said neck supporter, wherein a space is therebetween for the head of the lying person crossing the two head supporters over a destined space, thereby not only the neck and head of a lying person are supported, but also ventilation of the rear side of his head is easily achieved.
- The adjustable pillow as mentioned above, wherein the two head supporters of are movable, for coming closer as well as departing.
- The adjustable pillow as mentioned above, wherein a fixing element is set between the two head supporters, for avoiding movement due to external pressure.
- The adjustable pillow as mentioned above, wherein the fixing element is a Velcro-set comprising: two locating Velcro-tapes set at the bottom of the two head supporters; and a connecting Velcro-tape for connecting with the said locating Velcro-tapes.
- The adjustable pillow as mentioned above, wherein at the bottom of the two head supporters there are anti-slip mats.
- The adjustable pillow as mentioned above, comprises: a U-shaped bag building the neck supporter at the bottom, while the two head supporters on the each side; and filler which is set in the bag.
- The adjustable pillow as mentioned above, wherein the filler is of granular materials.
- The adjustable pillow as mentioned above, wherein the filler is of tubular granular materials.
- The adjustable pillow as mentioned above, wherein outside the two head supporter extends respectively a head supporter for lying down posture for supporting the head of a person lying down.
- The adjustable pillow as mentioned above, wherein the height of the neck supporter ranges from 5 to 7 cm.
- The adjustable pillow in the present invention, wherein the distance between the two head supporters is adjustable, and furthermore the head height of a person lying on the back is adjustable. Hence an adjustable head height for filling individual need is achieved.
- The adjustable pillow in the present invention, wherein adjusting the head height for filling individual need is achieved by adjusting the distribution of filler in bag.
- The adjustable pillow in the present invention, wherein outside both of the head supporters extends furthermore respectively a head supporter for supporting head in lying down posture.
- Other aspects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, illustrating by way of example the principles of the present invention.

FIG. 1 , theadjustable pillow 100 of the present invention comprises: aneck supporter 11 as a pad lying on the bed, wherein the neck of a person lying on the back is laid on the neck supporter; and twohead supporters 12 as pads set behind the saidneck supporter 11, wherein adestined space 121 is therebetween for the head of a lying person crossing the twohead supporters 12 over thedestined space 121, thereby not only the neck and head of a lying person are supported, but also ventilation of the rear side of his head is easily achieved. - As shown in the
FIG. 2 , theneck supporter 11 as a pad lying on the bed (not shown), whose top is curve or other suitable shape for supporting human neck, wherein the neck of a person lying on the back is laid on theneck supporter 11 and thereby the neck of the lying person is supported. - As shown in the
FIG. 3 , the twohead supporters 12 as pads set behind the saidneck supporter 11, wherein adestined space 121 is therebetween for the head of a person lying on the back crossing the twohead supporters 12 over thedestined space 121. In this way it is easy for ventilation on the rear side of his head. In combination with theneck supporter 11 there are totally three parts to support neck and head of a lying person. Accordingly, not only the neck and head of a lying person are supported, but also ventilation on the rear side of his head is easily achieved. - As shown in the
FIG. 1 , theneck supporter 11 and twohead supporters 12 build totally three parts to support the neck and head, hence the not supported parts of neck and head build aventilation pass 13 passing through thedestined space 121 between the two head supporters, thereby the rear head of the person is easily ventilated. - As shown in the
FIGS. 4 and 5 , the twohead supporters 12 are movable for nearing, or departing in a distance D1 and can furthermore adjust the head height of a lying person H1, as the twohead supporters 12 are nearing, their distance D1 is reduced and the head height H1 of the person is increasing. Accordingly, if the twohead supporters 12 are departing, the head height H1 is reduced (not shown). Therefore, by adjusting the distance between the twohead supporters 12 an adjustable head height for filling individual need is achieved. - The adjustable pillow of the present invention is made of elastical materials in one-piece or assembly. It can also be made of bag in destined shape with filler therein. As an example, a preferred embodiment is described as below.
- As shown in the
FIGS. 1 and 2 , aadjustable pillow 100 comprises: abag 1, having a U-shaped form building aneck supporter 11 at the bottom and the twohead supporters 12 on each side; andfiller 2 is set in thebag 1. - The
filler 2 is alternatively choose from: tubulargranular materials 21 or regular granular materials or irregular granular materials. As example a preferred embodiment is described as following: thefiller 2 is made of several tubulargranular materials 21, which is a conventional art, wherein filling position is easily adjustable and the filler is easily engaged together. Accordingly, even under pressure the pillow keeps undeformed and thus deformation due to bad attitude of user is avoided. - Besides, in case of posture lying on the back, normally a suitable neck height ranges from 5 to 7 cm, nevertheless everybody has his individual need. So through adjusting distribution of
filler 2 in thebag 1 the height of theneck supporter 11 is adjustable, thereby an adjustable neck height for filling individual need is achieved. - At a suitable position at the bottom of the
bag 1 anti-slip mats are set (not shown) for avoiding movement of theadjustable pillow 100. - As shown in the
FIG. 6 , from outer sides of the twohead supporters 12, respectively, head supporters for a lying downposture 122 extend, wherein height of the head supporters for lying downposture 122 completes the width of the shoulders, thereby the head of a lying person is supported. - As shown in the
FIG. 7 , in the second embodiment of the present invention, for avoiding movement of the twohead supporters 12 due to external pressure, anti-slip mats (not shown) are set at the bottom of the twohead supporters 12, or afixing member 3 is set therebetween for connecting the twohead supporters 12 to avoid the distance D1 expanded. As example a preferred embodiment is described as bellow: afixing member 3 which is a Velcro-set, comprising: two locating Velcro-tapes 31 set at the bottom of the twohead supporters 12 respectively; and a connecting Velcro-tape 32 for connecting with the said locating Velcro-tapes 31. Through adjusting the two locating Velcro-tapes 31 and the connecting Velcro-tape 32, an adjustable head height for filling individual need by lying down posture is achieved. - While preferred embodiments of the invention have been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiments of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments, which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.
Claims (10)
1. An adjustable pillow comprising:
a neck supporter; and
two head supporters.
2. The adjustable pillow of claim 1 wherein the two head supporters are movable.
3. The adjustable pillow of claim 2 wherein a fixing member connects the two head supporters.
4. The adjustable pillow of claim 3 wherein the fixing member is a Velcro-set comprising:
two locating Velcro-tapes set at the bottom of the two head supporters respectively; and
a connecting Velcro-tape connecting said locating Velcro-tapes.
5. The adjustable pillow of claim 2 wherein the two head supporters comprise anti-slip mats.
6. The adjustable pillow of claim 1 comprising
a U-shaped bag, comprising
filler.
7. The adjustable pillow of claim 6 wherein the filler is of granular materials.
8. The adjustable pillow of claim 7 wherein the filler is of tubular granular materials.
9. The adjustable pillow of claim I is characterized, that outside the said two head supporters extends a head supporter for lying down posture respectively.
10. The adjustable pillow of claim 1 wherein the height of the neck supporter ranges from 5 to 7 cm.
