Abstract
The present invention discloses the Burping Cloth Keeper. There has always been an issue of a baby's burping cloth falling off the shoulder of the user. This jeopardizes the sanitary cleanliness of the cloth which is to come in direct contact with a baby; particularly the face. The Burping Cloth Keeper is an invention that will affix the cloth to the garment of the user by sandwiching them between two encased magnets. It will allow the user to have uninhibited movement while staying in place to care for a baby.

FIG. 1 is a top view of the present invention, -
FIG. 2 is a folded view of the present invention; and -
FIG. 3 is a folded view of the present invention attached to a burping cloth. - I found that burping cloths were the most problematic with trying to ascertain a level cleanliness for the baby and a level of sanity for myself. The purpose of the Burping Cloth Keeper (BCK) is to prevent compromising the sanitary cleanliness of the cloth. The Burping Cloth Keeper attaches the cloth to the garment of the user through magnets. The magnets are encased in opposing ends of fabric (see
FIG. 1 ). Once folded in half, the cloth and garment would be sandwiched between the BCK (seeFIG. 2 ). There is nothing comparable on the current market. - The Burping Cloth Keeper comes in two variations: single and unattached, and permanently attached to the cloth. See (
FIG. 3 ) for an example of the attached burping cloth keeper to a cloth. It accommodates both the left and right hand users which make it reversible. The BCK also allows free movement for the user. Although the original shape is that of an ‘I’, there are size and shape variations. - The process of creating the product is as follows:
- 1.) Cut a five inch piece of fabric parallel to the selvage in the shape of the Burping Cloth Keeper
- 2.) Fold the fabric in half so that it measures two and a half inches long
- 3.) Sew along the edges, leaving two openings at the opposing ends to place the magnets in
- 4.) Once the magnets are inserted, secure and finish by sewing the openings closed
- Note—the measurements serve as an example and can be made available in various sizes to the comfort and preference of the user.
