Abstract

An apparatus including a first member, a second member, a third member, a first section, and, a second section. A first end of each of the first, the second, and the third member is fixed to the first section; and a second end, which opposes the first end of each of the first, the second, and the third member is fixed to the second section, in a manner such that the first, the second, and the third members are substantially parallel to each other, and the first and the second sections are substantially parallel to each other. The apparatus may be substantially smaller than an average adult person, and the apparatus may be configured so that the apparatus can be picked up by an average adult person gripping the first member, the second member, or the third member, and lifting the apparatus.

  • The present application claims the priority of U.S. Provisional Patent application Ser. No. 61/616,326, titled “Multifunctional prism shape push up devices with wheels on one dimension and three handles”, filed on Mar. 27, 2012, inventor and applicant Stan L. Moskowich.
  • FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates to improved methods and apparatus concerning devices for pushups.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • In the area of push-up exercise devices there are variety of exercise devices, as exemplified by U.S. Pat. No. 7,935,040 to Moskowich. U.S. Pat. No. 7,935,040 to Moskowich, discloses an apparatus comprising a handle device having a handle, and a base having a top surface and an opposing bottom surface. The apparatus may be used with an identical second apparatus by an individual for performing a push up exercise.
  • Another upper body exercise device is disclosed by U.S. Pat. No. 6,503,179 to Miraflor, which discloses a spring roller exerciser device. The spring roller exercise device is used in a pectorals-focused exercising routine that allows varying types of movements to be performed; however, the device itself does not provide push up exercises.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In at least one embodiment of the present invention an apparatus is provided comprising a handle device having a triangular prism shape wherein long lateral edges of the device are used as handles and two triangular side walls are placed parallel to each other. The handles form three dimensions wherein one dimension of the apparatus has four wheels and the opposing other two dimensions are flat. The apparatus may be used with an identical second apparatus by an individual for performing a push up exercise.
  • The apparatus may include three handles which may be connected to triangular side walls so that the all three handles can be placed parallel so the whole construction forms a triangular prism.
  • The apparatus may further include two wheels which may be placed on one side of the triangular wall from the bottom surface of the base. The other two surfaces of the base of the apparatus may include a non-skid material. The three handles may have the same length to make the side triangular walls parallel. The handles may form three functioning surfaces where the one surface formed of four wheels, wherein two wheels placed on one side of each triangular wall. A grip of the handles also may be using as non-slip base when wheeled side of the construction turn on left or right side and wheels are not facing the floor.
  • A method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention may include placing a first apparatus and a second apparatus on a floor surface, wherein the first apparatus and the second apparatus are identical and are as previously described. The method may further include simultaneously gripping a first handle of the first apparatus with a left hand of an individual, gripping a second handle of the second apparatus with a right hand of the individual, and performing a pushup exercise using the first apparatus and the second apparatus.
  • In at least one embodiment of the present invention an apparatus is provided which includes a base having three functioning surfaces, three parallel handles attaching to the triangular walls and four wheels placed on one dimension of the triangular prism construction. The handle device can be turned over and can be translated into three different states or positions with respect to the prism base. The apparatus, particularly when used in combination with an identical second apparatus, allows an individual user to execute a variety of push up exercises including a common push up, as well as push up exercises where the two apparatus are rolled outward or forward.
  • One or more embodiments of the present invention provide a triangular prism push up device having wheels on one dimension of the prism that allows individuals to perform advanced muscle-building exercise. One or more embodiments provide an innovative core training product that allows a variety of core training exercises, including common pushups as well as dynamic roll outward and roll forward workouts that sculpt the upper body faster and more efficiently.
  • One or more embodiments of the present invention can be used for conventional push up or push away exercise and can also be used for outward and forward extension and/or push away or up exercise by use of wheels incorporated into housing.
  • One or more embodiments of the present invention provide three parallel handles that allows three sides of the prism to be used for exercises. In one or more embodiments the base includes two friction surfaces and a triangularly related surface through which a plurality of wheels protrude through openings in the surface.
  • One or more embodiments of the present invention provide three handles which can be used as non-friction surfaces. Three parallel handles allow use of either two friction surfaces or protruding wheels.
  • In at least one embodiment, an apparatus is provided which includes a first member, a second member, a third member, a first section, and a second section. A first end of each of the first, the second, and the third member may be fixed to the first section; and a second end, which opposes the first end of each of the first, the second, and the third member may be fixed to the second section, in a manner such that the first, the second, and the third members are substantially parallel to each other, and the first and the second sections are substantially parallel to each other. The apparatus may be substantially smaller than an average adult person, and the apparatus may be configured so that the apparatus can be picked up by an average adult person gripping the first member, the second member, or the third member, and lifting the apparatus.
  • The apparatus may further include first and third wheels rotatably mounted to the first section, and second and fourth wheels rotatably mounted to the second section. The first and the third wheels may be rotatably mounted to the first section and the second and the fourth wheels may be rotatably mounted to the second section so that the first and the third wheels rotate about a first and a third axis and the second and the fourth wheel rotate about a second and a fourth axis, wherein the first, second, third, and fourth axis are substantially parallel to each other.
  • The first section may have a first triangular shape and the first ends of the first, second, and third members may be fixed to the first section substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the first triangular shape; and the second section may have a second triangular shape and the second ends of the first, second, and third members may be fixed to the second section substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the second triangular shape.
  • The first and the third wheels may protrude outwards from one side of the first section. The second and the fourth wheels may protrude outwards from one side of the second section.
  • The apparatus may further include first, second, and third non slip gripping materials fixed to the first, second, and third members, respectively.
  • In at least one embodiment, a method is provided which includes placing a first and a second apparatus on a floor; gripping the first and the second apparatus while the first and the second apparatus are on the floor; and performing a push up exercise while gripping the first and the second apparatus. Each of the first and the second apparatus may be an apparatus configured as previously described.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 shows a front, top, and right side perspective view of an apparatus 1 in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 shows a rear, top, and left side perspective view of the apparatus 1. FIG. 3 shows a front and bottom perspective view of the apparatus 1. FIG. 4 shows a rear and bottom perspective view of the apparatus 1.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1-4, the apparatus 1 includes sections 2 and 4, and cylindrical rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16. The cylindrical rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 are covered by cushion or handgrip materials 6, 8, and 10 which may be in the form of hollow cylinders wrapped around rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 and fixed substantially centrally onto the outside of rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16. The rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 may be made substantially or entirely of a hard rigid strong metal such as steel.
  • The section 2 may include a flat plate 2 k having an outer surface 2 a, shown in FIG. 1, and an inner surface 2 i, shown in FIG. 2. The section 2 may have openings 2 b, 2 c, 2 d, 2 e, and 2 f. The section 2 may include side 2 g, shown in FIG. 1, and side 2 h and 2 j shown in FIG. 2. The section 2 may include housings 37, 36, 38, and 40 which are fixed to and/or molded integrally with plate 2 k to side 2 i as shown in FIG. 2. The housing 37 may be supported by a rib or flange 37 a shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, which is fixed to the housing 37 and to the surface 2 i of the plate 2 k of the section 2.
  • The section 2 may be fixed to the rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16, by screws 18, 20, and 26, respectively, as shown in FIG. 1. The rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 may be fixed to the section 2 in a manner that the rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 do not rotate with respect to the section 2.
  • Wheels 56 and 54 as shown in FIG. 4 may be pivotally mounted to the section 2, by pin, axle, axis, and/ nut nut combinations 41 and 39, respectively, as shown in FIG. 4. The wheels 56 and 54 may partially reside within housings 40 and 38, respectively. The wheels 56 and 54 may partially protrude out from the housings 40 and 38, respectively. Each of housings 40 and 38 may be approximately semicircular shaped, and may have a semicircular shaped cavity or chamber in which part of the wheels 56 and 54, respectively, reside.
  • The pins, axles, or axes of combinations or components 31, 33, 39, and 41 for the wheels 60, 58, 54, and 56, may be fixed to their appropriate sections of sections 2 and 4 to be parallel or substantially parallel to each other, in at least one embodiment, to allow the apparatus 1 to roll easily in the directions D1 and D2 shown in FIG. 6.
  • Each of the rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 have an end which is inserted into the housings 37, 36, and 42, respectively, as shown in FIG. 2. Each of the housings 37, 36, and 42 may be hollow cylinders or substantially shaped in the form of hollow cylinders.
  • The section 2 may be made of a metal or a hard rigid plastic.
  • The section 4 may be identical to and/or a mirror image of the section 2. The section 4 may include a flat plate 4 k having an outer surface 4 a, shown in FIG. 2, and an inner surface 4 i, shown in FIG. 1. The section 4 may have openings 4 b, 4 c, 4 d, 4 e, and 4 f. The section 4 may include side 4 g, shown in FIG. 2, and side 4 h and 4 j shown in FIG. 1. The section 4 may include housings 35, 28, 30, 32, and 34 which are fixed to and/or molded integrally with plate 4 k to side 4 i as shown in FIG. 1. The housing 35 may be supported by a rib or flange 35 a shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, which is fixed to the housing 35 and to the surface 4 i of the plate 4 k of the section 4.
  • The section 4 may be fixed to the rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16, by screws 44, 52, and 46, respectively, as shown in FIG. 1. The rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 may be fixed to the section 4 in a manner that the rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 do not rotate with respect to the section 4.
  • Wheels 58 and 60 as shown in FIG. 4 may be pivotally mounted to the section 4, by pin, axle, axis, and/or nut combinations 33 and 31, respectively, as shown in FIG. 4. The wheels 58 and 60 may partially reside within housings 32 and 30, respectively. The wheels 58 and 60 may partially protrude out from the housings 32 and 30, respectively. Each of housings 32 and 30 may be approximately semicircular shaped, and may have a semicircular shaped cavity or chamber in which part of the wheels 58 and 60, respectively, reside.
  • Each of the rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 have an end which is inserted into the housings 35, 28, and 34, respectively, as shown in FIG. 1. Each of the housings 35, 28, and 34 may be hollow cylinders or substantially shaped in the form of hollow cylinders.
  • The section 4 may be made of a metal or a hard rigid plastic.
  • Each of the rods or tubes 12, 14, and 16 may be identical to each other. Each of the tubes or cushions 6, 8, and 10, in combination the rods or tubes 12, 16, and 14, respectively, may be called a handle or a handle device The combination of rods or tubes 12,14,16 and the sections 2 and 4 (or triangular devices 2 and 4) can be called a prism. The prism may be described as having three dimensions. In one of the dimensions, i.e. the bottom of the apparatus 1, as shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, wheels 54, 56, 58, and 60 protrude out through the bottom of the apparatus 1. In the other two dimensions, i.e. the right side in FIG. 1 and the left side in FIG. 2, the sections 2 and 4 have flat sides. In FIG. 1, sides 2 g and 4 h are flat and in FIG. 2, sides 4 g and 2 h are flat.
  • An individual can grip the grips 6, 8, or 10 in order to pick up the apparatus 1 or push up device along with another identical apparatus 1 or push up device to execute a push up in a conventional manner or in another manner.
  • The apparatus 1 may be sized to be much smaller than an average adult person, as shown by FIG. 5. Similarly, a modified apparatus with a section 302 shown by FIGS. 7-12, replacing section 2 and a section identical to or the mirror image of section 302 replacing section 4, may also be sized to be much smaller than an average adult person. The apparatus 1, or a modified apparatus with section 302 instead of section 2 and a section identical to 302 or a mirror image of, instead of section 4, may have a length of L1 shown in FIG. 1 which may be about eight and ¼ inches, and a width W1, which may be about six inches. The sections 2, 4, or 302, may substantially have an overall equilateral triangular shape, so that all sides of the overall triangular shape have the same width W1. For example, each of side 2 g, shown in FIG. 1, side 2 h shown in FIG. 2, and side 2 j shown in FIG. 2 may have the same width W1, which may be about six inches.
  • FIG. 5 shows a rear and bottom perspective view of the apparatus 1 of FIG. 1, and an identical apparatus 101 placed on a floor 200 and with a simplified diagram of an average adult person 210 gripping the apparatus 1 and an identical apparatus 101 in order to perform a push up exercise. The person 210 includes a head 212, neck 214, torso and/or chest portion 216, arms 218 and 220, right hand 222, right thumb 224, four non-thumb fingers 226, left hand 228, left thumb 230, four non-thumb fingers 232, right leg 234, left leg 236, right foot 238, and left foot 240.
  • In the configuration of FIG. 5, the person 210 is gripping the grip 10 of the apparatus 1 with his or her right hand 222, such that the thumb 224 is parallel or substantially parallel to the grip 10 and the fingers 226 wrap around the grip 10. At the same time, the person 210 is gripping the grip 110 of the apparatus 101 with his or her right hand 228, such that the thumb 230 is parallel or substantially parallel to the grip 110 and the fingers 232 wrap around the grip 110.
  • In FIG. 5, the grips 6 and 8 of the apparatus 1 and the grips 106 and 108 of the apparatus 101 make contact with and/or frictionally engage the floor or floor surface 200 to prevent or substantially inhibit the apparatus 1 and the apparatus 101 from moving while the person 210 is performing a push up exercise. Grips 6, 8, and 10, and grips 106, 108, and 110, may be made of and/or may have a non-slip frictional surface so that the apparatus 1 and the apparatus 101 does not slide on the floor 200, while the person 210 is performing a push up exercise as in FIG. 5. For example, the grips 6, 8, and 10 may be made of rubber.
  • The apparatus 101 may be identical or substantially similar to the apparatus 1. The apparatus 101 may include grips 106, 108, 110, wheels 156, 154, 160, and 158, and sections 102 and 104 which may be identical to or substantially similar to grips 6, 8, 10, wheels 56, 54, 60, and 58, and sections 2 and 4, respectively, of apparatus 1.
  • FIG. 6 shows a front, top, right side perspective view of the apparatus 1, and the identical apparatus 101 shown in FIG. 5, placed on the floor 200 and with a simplified diagram of the person 210 gripping the apparatus 1 of FIG. 1 and the identical apparatus 101 in order to perform a push up exercise. In FIG. 6, the apparatus 1 and the apparatus 101 have been placed so that the wheels 156, 154, 160, and 158 of apparatus 101 and the wheels 56, 54, 60, and 58 of the apparatus 1, not shown in FIG. 6, are in contact with the floor or floor surface 200, so that the apparatus 1 and the apparatus 101 can move and/or roll in the direction D1 or D2. In at least one embodiment, this provides a more challenging exercise and/or a different kind of exercise for a push up.
  • In FIG. 6, the hand 222 of the person 210 is gripping the grip 6 of the apparatus 1 with thumb 224 substantially perpendicular or perpendicular to the grip 6 and the fingers 226 wrapped around the grip 6. At the same time the hand 228 is gripping the grip 106 of the apparatus 101 with the thumb 230 substantially perpendicular or perpendicular to the grip 106 and the fingers 232 wrapped around the grip 106.
  • FIG. 7 shows a front, top, right side perspective view of a section 302 which can be used in an alternative apparatus in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention. The section 302 can be used instead of the section 2, and at the same time, the section 4 may be replaced with a section that is identical to section 302 or the mirror image of section 302. The section 302 and its twin or mirror image can be used in placed of the sections 2 and 4, respectively, along with the tubes 8, 10, and 12, and the grips 6, 8, and 10, and the wheels 54, 56, 58, and 60, and axels, screws, and/or nuts 31, 33, 39, and 41, in a modified apparatus in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 8 shows a front, bottom, and right side perspective view of the section 302 of FIG. 7. FIG. 9 shows an interior view of the section 302. FIG. 10 shows an exterior view of the section 302. FIG. 11 shows a right side view of the section 302. FIG. 12 shows a bottom view of the section 302. The section 302 may have the same components as the section 2 except as will be noted. The section 302 includes sides 302 g and 302 j, shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, respectively, which may be similar to the sides 2 g and 2 j of the section 2 shown in FIGS. 1 and 4, respectively. The section 302 has chambers 303 a and 303 b, shown in FIG. 8, similar to chambers 3 a and 3 b shown in FIG. 4, for the insertion of wheels 54 and 56. However, the section 302 includes protrusions or housings 301 e and 301 g (near chamber 303 b) and protrusions or housings 301 f and 301 h (near chamber 303 a) shown in FIG. 8, whereas the section 2 does not include such protrusions. The protrusions 301 e and 301 g provide structural support for insertion of an axle (not shown) about which the wheel 56 would rotate in the chamber 303 b of section 302. Similarly, the protrusions or housings 301 f and 301 h provide structural support for insertion of an axle (not shown) about which the wheel 54 would rotate in the chamber 303 a of section 302.
  • The section 302 has openings 302 b, 302 c, 302 d, 302 e, and 302 f, which are similar to openings 2 b, 2 c, 2 d, 2 e, and 2 f shown in FIG. 1. However, the openings 302 d, and 302 e, are lower as a result of protrusions or housings 301 e and 301 f which allow the wheels 54 and 56, not shown to project out further from the portion 302 a of the section 302.
  • The section 302 has openings or slots 301 a and 301 c, and triangular openings 301 b and 301 d as shown in FIGS. 7-10. The openings 301 a-d, allow for less material to be used for section 302 than for section 2 which saves on manufacturing costs.
  • The section 302 includes structures or housings 336, 338, 340, and 342 shown in FIG. 9 which may be similar to or identical to the structures or housings 36, 38, 40, and 42 shown in FIG. 2.
  • Although the invention has been described by reference to particular illustrative embodiments thereof, many changes and modifications of the invention may become apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It is therefore intended to include within this patent all such changes and modifications as may reasonably and properly be included within the scope of the present invention's contribution to the art.

Claims (20)

I claim:
1. An apparatus comprising:
a first member;
a second member;
a third member;
a first section; and
a second section;
wherein a first end of each of the first, the second, and the third member is fixed to the first section; and a second end, which opposes the first end of each of the first, the second, and the third member is fixed to the second section, in a manner such that the first, the second, and the third members are substantially parallel to each other, and the first and the second sections are substantially parallel to each other; and
and wherein the apparatus is substantially smaller than an average adult person, and the apparatus is configured so that the apparatus can be picked up by an average adult person gripping the first member, the second member, or the third member, and lifting the apparatus.
2. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising
a first wheel rotatably mounted to the first section;
3. The apparatus of claim 2 further comprising
a second wheel rotatably mounted to the second section.
4. The apparatus of claim 3 further comprising
a third wheel rotatably mounted to the first section; and
a fourth wheel rotatably mounted to the second section.
5. The apparatus of 3 wherein
the first wheel is rotatably mounted to the first section and the second wheel is rotatably mounted to the second section so that the first wheel rotates about a first axis and the second wheel rotates about a second axis, wherein the first axis and the second axis are substantially parallel to each other.
6. The apparatus of 4 wherein
the first and the third wheels are rotatably mounted to the first section and the second and the fourth wheels are rotatably mounted to the second section so that the first and the third wheels rotate about a first and a third axis, respectively, and the second and the fourth wheels rotate about a second and a fourth axis, respectively, wherein the first, the second, the third, and the fourth axis are substantially parallel to each other.
7. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein
the first section has a first triangular shape and the first ends of the first, second, and third members are fixed to the first section substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the first triangular shape; and
the second section has a second triangular shape and the second ends of the first, second, and third members are fixed to the second section substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the second triangular shape.
8. The apparatus of claim 6 wherein
the first and third wheels protrude outwards from one side of the first section;
and the second and the fourth wheels protrude outwards from one side of the second section.
9. The apparatus of claim 6 wherein
the first section has a first triangular shape and the first ends of the first, second, and third members are fixed to the first section substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the first triangular shape;
wherein the second section has a second triangular shape and the second ends of the first, second, and third members are fixed to the second section substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the second triangular shape;
wherein the first and third wheels protrude outwards from one side of the first section;
and wherein the second and the fourth wheels protrude outwards from one side of the second section.
10. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising
first, second, and third non slip gripping materials fixed to the first, second, and third members, respectively.
11. A method comprising
placing a first and a second apparatus on a floor;
gripping the first and the second apparatus while the first and the second apparatus are on the floor;
performing a push up exercise while gripping the first and the second apparatus;
wherein each of the first and the second apparatus include
a first member;
a second member;
a third member;
a first section; and
a second section;
wherein a first end of each of the first, the second, and the third member is fixed to the first section; and a second end, which opposes the first end of each of the first, the second, and the third member is fixed to the second section, in a manner such that the first, the second, and the third members are substantially parallel to each other, and the first and the second sections are substantially parallel to each other; and
and wherein each of the first and the second apparatus is substantially smaller than an average adult person, and each of the first and the second apparatus is configured so that each of the first and the second apparatus can be picked up by an average adult person gripping the first member, the second member, or the third member of each of the first and the second apparatus and lifting each of the first and the second apparatus.
12. The method of claim 11 wherein
each of the first and the second apparatus includes a first wheel rotatably mounted to the first section of each of the first and the second apparatus.
13. The method of claim 12 wherein
each of the first and the second apparatus includes a second wheel rotatably mounted to the second section each of the first and the second apparatus.
14. The method of claim 13 further comprising
each of the first and the second apparatus includes a third wheel rotatably mounted to the first section of each of the first and the second apparatus and a fourth wheel rotatably mounted to the second section of each of the first and the second apparatus.
15. The method of 13 wherein
the first wheel is rotatably mounted to the first section and the second wheel is rotatably mounted to the second section, of each of the first and the second apparatus, so that the first wheel rotates about a first axis and the second wheel rotates about a second axis, of each of the first and the second apparatus, wherein the first axis and the second axis of each of the first and the second apparatus are substantially parallel to each other.
16. The method of 14 wherein
the first and the third wheels of each of the first and the second apparatus are rotatably mounted to the first section and the second and the fourth wheels of each of the first and the second apparatus are rotatably mounted to the second section so that the first and the third wheels rotate about a first and a third axis, respectively, and the second and the fourth wheels rotate about a second and a fourth axis, of each of the first and the second apparatus, respectively, wherein the first, the second, the third, and the fourth axis are substantially parallel to each other.
17. The method of claim 11 wherein
the first section of each of the first and the second apparatus, has a first triangular shape and the first ends of the first, second, and third members of each of the first and the second apparatus are fixed to the first section of each of the first and the second apparatus substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the first triangular shape of each of the first and the second apparatus; and
the second section of each of the first and the second apparatus has a second triangular shape and the second ends of the first, second, and third members of each of the first and the second apparatus are fixed to the second section substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the second triangular shape, of each of the first and the second apparatus.
18. The method of claim 16 wherein
the first and third wheels of each of the first and the second apparatus protrude outwards from one side of the first section of each of the first and the second apparatus;
and the second and the fourth wheels of each of the first and the second apparatus protrude outwards from one side of the second section of each of the first and the second apparatus.
19. The method of claim 16 wherein
the first section of each of the first and the second apparatus has a first triangular shape and the first ends of the first, second, and third members of each of the first and the second apparatus are fixed to the first section substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the first triangular shape of each of the first and the second apparatus;
wherein the second section of each of the first and the second apparatus has a second triangular shape and the second ends of the first, second, and third members of each of the first and the second apparatus are fixed to the second section of each of the first and the second apparatus substantially at first, second, and third vertices, respectively, of the second triangular shape, of each of the first and the second apparatus
wherein the first and third wheels protrude outwards from one side of the first section of each of the first and the second apparatus;
and wherein the second and the fourth wheels protrude outwards from one side of the second section of each of the first and the second apparatus.
20. The method of claim 11 wherein
each of the first and the second apparatus includes first, second, and third non slip gripping materials fixed to the first, second, and third members, of the first and the second apparatus, respectively.
