Abstract
The present invention relates to a pencil case for conveniently storing stationery such as pencils, ballpoint pens, and erasers. The pencil case of the present invention is adjustable in length and shape in accordance with the shapes of writing implements.
Description
- The present invention relates to a pencil case, and in particular to a pencil case which can help store stationery such as a pencil, a ball point pen, an eraser, etc.
- A pencil case is generally configured to store stationery such as a pencil, etc.
- The above mentioned pencil case is a basic stationery which accommodates a writing instrument such as a pencil and a ball point pen and an eraser and is made from a cloth or a synthetic resin woven cloth and a zipper or is made from a solid material the shape of which is fixed
- The most ordinary pencil case made from a solid material comprises a lid part opened and closed using a hinge, a sealing part sealed so that the writing instrument stored in the interior of the pencil case cannot fall down, and a body accommodating the writing instrument.
- On an outer surface of the above mentioned pencil case is printed a character or the like so as to attract more interesting from kids and students who are main users, and a pencil case made from a cloth or a synthetic resin woven material is made in various colors and from various materials.
- The above described conventional pencil case might look a little bit simple; however the construction of it looks too uniform to draw continued interesting from the users such as kids and students, and the construction has a certain thickness and is limited to a rectangular shape, so it is almost impossible fully accommodate the stationery such as ball point pens in the interior because such ball point pens are made trendily in various types in recent years.
- Accordingly, the present invention is provided to overcome the above described problems and it is an object of the present invention to provide a pencil case which makes it possible to help pencil case users such as kids, students, adults, etc. continuously use the pencil cases with interests, and the lengths and the shapes of the pencil cases can be adjusted depending on the necessities of the user.
- To achieve the above objects, there is provided a pencil case formed of body accommodating stationery, a lid part opened and closed by way of a hinge, and a sealing part one end of which is closed, comprising a male cover the interior of which is passed through and which is formed of upper and lower outer covers, a rotation shaft member protruded from an inner side of the outer cover, and an outer support plate supporting the outer cover at the left and right ends; and a female cover the interior of which is passed through and which is formed of upper and lower inner covers each having a rotation shaft engaging hole and an inner support plate supporting the inner covers at the left and right ends, and the body is formed as the female is slide-inserted into the interior of the passed-through male cover, and the rotation shaft ember is engaged to the rotation shaft engaging hole.
- In addition, to achieve the above objects, the male cover includes two rotation shaft members at the inner sides of the upper outer cover and the lower outer cover, and the female cover includes two rotation shaft engaging holes at the upper inner cover and the lower inner cover, and a first rotation shaft member of the male cover is rotatably engaged to a second rotation shaft engaging hole of the first female cover, and a third rotation shaft member of the male cover is detachably engaged to a fourth rotation shaft engaging hole of the first female cover, and the second rotation shaft member of the male cover is rotatably engaged to the first rotation shaft engaging hole of the second female cover, and a fourth rotation shaft member of the male cover is detachably engaged to the third rotation shaft engaging hole of the second female cover, so the length of the body can be adjusted.
- In addition, the outer cover is formed in a hexagonal shape, and the inner cover is formed in a hexagonal shape which is slide-accommodated into the passed-through interior of the outer cover, and the male cover and the female cover rotate in the clockwise direction or the counterclockwise direction about the body in a state that they are engaged by way of the rotation shaft member and the rotation shaft engaging hole.
- When implementing the present invention depending on the above described construction of the invention, the length of the pencil case can be adjusted with the aid of the engagement of at least one male cover and at least one female cover, and the stationery having various shapes and characteristics can be easily accommodated in the interior by bending or flexibly curving part or whole parts of the body as the body of the pencil case can be rotated.
- In case of the pencil case according to the present invention, a male cover and a female cover which are basic elements of the pencil case can be purchased separately, so they can be used as a new profit producing item, and the male cover and the female cover can be made in various colors, material, sizes and shapes, so it is possible to continuously draw the interesting from the users of the pencil cases.

FIG. 8 is a view illustrating a use state while showing a construction that a partial block is additionally engaged in a pencil case according to a first embodiment of the present invention. - The preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described to the extent that an ordinary person skilled in the art can easily implement with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- It is obvious that the present invention might be implemented in various forms, not limiting to the disclosure below.
- Throughout the specification, the terms “something comprises something” does not represent excluding a certain element unless otherwise stated, but represents that another elements might be further included.
- The pencil case according to a first embodiment of the present invention will be descried with reference to the accompanying drawings 1 to 3.

FIGS. 1 to 4 are perspective views illustrating apencil case 100 according to a first embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a pencil case 10 that a plurality of male covers 110 and a plurality ofmale covers 130 are slide-engaged, and alid part 150 is provided at an end portion, and asealing part 170 is provided at the other end according to a first embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view illustrating a construction that the whole appearance of apencil case 100 is formed in a semicircular shape by bending in one direction ahexagonal male cover 110 and afemale cover 130. -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating a construction that the whole appearance of apencil casing 100 is formed in a waveform shape by changing the bending direction of the male over 110 and thefemale cover 130. -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating an appearance that alid part 150 hinged at an end portion of thepencil case 100 is open. - As shown in
FIGS. 1 to 4 , thepencil case 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises amale cover 110, afemale cover 130, alid part 150 and asealing part 170, and themale cover 110 and thefemale cover 130 form the body of thepencil case 100. - Here, the
male cover 110 is shaped like a block which is formed of a hexagonalouter cover 111 having a certain set thickness and a rectangular outer support plate 113 (as shown inFIG. 2 ) having a certain set thickness, and the inner side of themale cover 110 is passed through. - The
male cover 110 might be integrally formed by way of a casting method and might be prefabricated by attaching twoouter support plates 113 at both sides of theouter cover 111 using an adhesive. - The
male cover 110 might be made from various flexible materials such as wood, paper or plastic, and on an outer surface exposed to the outside can be painted in various colors and can be formed a character, a shape, a pattern or a logo. - The set thicknesses (the
outer cover 111 and the outer support plate 113) of themale cover 110 might be in a range of 1 mm to 3 mm, and they might be different depending on the strength and durability of the materials. - The
female cover 130 is shaped like a block which is formed of a hexagonalinner cover 131 having a certain set thickness and a rectangular inner support plate 133 (as shown inFIG. 2 ) having a certain set thickness, and the inner side of thefemale cover 130 is passed through. - The
female cover 130 has features in that theinner cover 131 and theinner support plate 133 are smaller than theouter cover 111 and the outer support plate 113 (at least one among the height, width and length) so that it can be slide-inserted into the passing-through inner side of themale cover 110. - The female 130 might be integrally formed by way of the casting method like the
male cover 110, and it might be prefabricated by attaching twoinner support plates 133 at both sides of theinner cover 131 formed of two sheets using an adhesive. - The
female cover 130 might be made from various flexible materials such as wood, paper or plastic, and on an outer surface exposed to the outside can be painted in various colors and can be formed a character, a shape, a pattern or a logo. - The set thickness (the
inner cover 131 and the inner support plate 133) of thefemale cover 130 might be in a range of 1 mm to 3 mm, and such ranges might change depending on the strength and durability of the materials. - The
lid part 150 is shaped like a block which is engaged at an end portion of thepencil casing 100 by way of ahinge 151 in an operable way. Thelid part 150 comes into close contact with themale cover 110 positioned at the outer most portion in a state that stationery such as a pencil, a ball point pen, etc. is stored, not randomly coming out, and it is constructed in a structure which can be easily open when the stationery is inputted into or is pulled out of thepencil case 100. - For this, the
lid part 150 might be provided in a rectangular plate shape having a certain set size big enough to block the space formed passing through the inner side of themale cover 110. - The
male cover 110 is cut with respect to a perpendicular surface, and a hinge is engaged at a cut-away cross section, so the outer side block of the cutmale cover 110 can be used as alid part 150. - Since the engaging structure which is opened and closed by way of the hinge is a known art, the descriptions thereon will be omitted.
- The
lid part 150 can be engaged at the outer mostmale cover 110 in an opening and closing way by way of various engaging members such as a magnet, an adhering band, etc. in addition to the hinge. - The sealing
part 170 is shaped like a block positioned at the other end of thepencil case 100 and can be provided in the same type, material and size as themale cover 110; however its one outer end exposed to the outside should be sealed so that a writing instrument such as pencils and an eraser accommodated in the interior of thepencil case 100 do not fall down freely. - In other words, the
sealing part 170 is configured to prevent the stationery accommodated in the interior of thepencil case 100 by way of thelid part 150 open at an end portion of thepencil case 100 from falling toward the other end of thepencil case 100 by way of themale cover 110 and thefemale cover 130 the interiors of which are passed through. - The sealing
part 170 might be made in such a way that the outer end of themale cover 110 or thefemale cover 130 is sealed using the same or different material plates or the like or it might be made in such a way that the outer end can be blocked using a casting method, which is separate from themale cover 110 or thefemale cover 130. -
FIGS. 5 and 6 are perspective views illustrating amale cover 110 and afemale cover 130 which form thepencil case 100 according to a first embodiment of the present invention, of whichFIG. 5 is a view illustrating a construction before themale cover 110 and the female 130 are engaged, andFIG. 6 is a view illustrating a construction after themale cover 110 and thefemale cover 130 are engaged.FIG. 7 is a cross sectional view illustrating a construction that amale cover 110 and afemale cover 130 are engaged (when cutting away in the direction A-A ofFIG. 6 ). - As shown in
FIGS. 5 to 7 , themale cover 110 comprises at least one rotation shaft member 115 protruded in the inward direction, and thefemale cover 130 comprises at least one rotation shaft engaging hole 135 formed at a matching position so that the rotation shaft member 115 can be slide-engaged. - Referring to
FIGS. 5 to 7 , the construction and engagement of themale cover 110 and thefemale cover 130 will be described. - The
male cover 110 comprises anouter cover 111, anouter support plate 113 and a rotation shaft member 115, and more specifically, it represents a block the inner side of which is passed through, while comprising a rotation shaft member 115 protruded from the inner sides of the upper and lowerouter covers 111 and 112 and theouter cover 111, and anouter support plate 113 supporting theouter cover 111 at the left and right end portions. - The
outer cover 111 is a hexagonal cover part having a predetermined set thickness and forms part of the upper and lower sides of thepencil case 100 and is divided into an upperouter cover 111 positioned at the upper side with respect to theouter support plate 113, which will be described later, and a lower support plate 12 positioned at the lower side. - Here, the upper
outer cover 111 might be formed of the cover part formed in various shapes having various shapes such as a pentagonal shape including a hexagonal shape. - The
outer support plate 113 is a rectangular support part having a certain set thickness and forms part of the side surface of thepencil case 100, and one end and the other end of the same are fixed at the end portions of the upperouter cover 111 and the lower outer cover 112, thus supporting themale cover 110 at a certain set height. - Here, the
outer cover 111 and theouter support plate 113 might be integrated by way of a casting method or the like and might be in various shapes such as a triangle shape, a square shape, a hexagonal shape, etc. in addition to a rectangular shape as long as it has a support function. - At least one rotation shaft member 115 is formed at the inner sides of the
outer covers 111 and 112 of the upper and lower sides of the male over 110 and is shaped like a cylindrical protrusion having a certain set thickness. - The
male cover 110 of thepencil case 100 according to a first embodiment of the present invention comprises two rotation shaft members 115 at the inner side of the upperouter cover 111 and two rotation shaft members 115 at the inner side of the lower outer cover 112. - Here, the rotation shaft member 115 is rotatable in the clockwise direction or the counterclockwise direction in a state that it is engaged to a rotation shaft engaging hole 135 which will be described later.
- Here, the rotation shaft member 115 might be integrally provided when manufacturing the
male cover 110 or it might be manufactured by way of a process that it is bonded to the previously manufacturedmale cover 110. - It is not necessary that the rotation shaft member 115 is protruded from the inner side of the
outer cover 111, instead it might be protruded from the inner side of theouter support plate 113. - In this case, the rotation shaft engaging hole 135 should be formed at a set position where to engage with the rotation shaft member 115.
- In addition, the rotation shaft member 115 and the rotation shaft engaging hole 135 might be provided in various sizes, types and numbers as long as the
male cover 110 and thefemale cover 130 can be engaged in the clockwise direction and the counterclockwise direction in a state that it is engaged. - The
female cover 130 comprises aninner cover 131, aninner support plate 133 and a rotation shaft engaging hole 135, and more specifically, it represents a block the inner side of which is passed through while comprising upper and lower inner covers 131 and 132 having rotation shaft engaging holes 135, and aninner support plate 133 supporting theinner cover 131 at the left and right ends portions. - In other words, the
female cover 130 is slide-inserted into the interior of the passed-throughmale cover 110, and the rotation shaft member 115 is engaged to the rotation shaft engaging hole 135, so the body of thepencil case 100 is formed, and thepencil case 100 is formed by thelid part 150 of one end and the sealingpart 170 of the other end. - The
inner cover 131 is a hexagonal cover part having a certain set thickness and forms the upper and lower sides of thepencil case 100 along with theouter cover 111, and it is divided into the upperinner cover 131 positioned at the upper side with respect to theinner support plat 133 which will be described later and the lower inner cover 132 positioned at the lower side. - Here, the
inner cover 131 is slide-inserted into the interior of the outer cover 111 (for this, theinner cover 131 might have a narrower width and shorter length and height than the outer cover 111) and can formed of a cover part formed in various shapes such as a pentagonal shape in addition to a hexagonal shape as long as the rotation shaft member 115 can be engaged. - The
inner support plate 133 is a rectangular support part having a certain set thickness and comprises anoutput support plate 113 along with part of the side surface of thepencil case 100, and one end and the other end of the same are fixed at the end portions of the upperinner cover 131 and the lower inner cover 132 while supporting thefemale cover 130 so that it can have a set height (here, thefemale cover 130 is formed lower than the passed-through height in the interior of themale cover 110 so that thefemale cover 130 can be slide-inserted into the interior of the male cover 110). - Here, the
inner cover 131 and theinner support plate 133 might be integrally formed by the casting method and might be provided in various shape such as a triangle shape, a square shape, a hexagonal shape, etc. in addition to a rectangular shape as long as it maintains a support function, - At least one rotation shaft engaging hole 135 is formed at the inner sides of the upper and lower inner covers 131 and 132 of the
female cover 130 and the rotation shaft engaging hole 135 is an engaging hole through which passes the rotation shaft member 115, so it is engaged. - The
female cove 130 of thepencil case 100 according to a first embodiment of the present invention comprises the rotation shaft engaging holes 135, two of which are formed at the upperinner cover 131 and the lower inner cover 132, respectively. - The
female cover 130 is smaller than the male cover 110 (at least one among the height, width and length), and thefemale cover 130 can be slide-inserted into the passed-through interior of themale cover 110. - At this time, the rotation shaft member 115 protruded from the inner side of the
male cover 110 is inserted into and engaged to the rotation shaft engaging hole 135 formed at theinner covers 131 and 132 of thefemale cover 130. - In other words, the
male cover 110 is engaged by way of the rotation shaft engaging hole 135 of thefemale cover 130 and the rotation shaft member 115, so themale cover 110 and thefemale cover 130 are engaged and can be rotated in the clockwise direction and the counterclockwise direction. - As shown in
FIGS. 5 to 7 , onemale cover 110 and twofemale covers 130 can be engaged in such a way that they can rotate by way of the rotation shaft member 115 and the rotation shaft engaging hole 135. - For more specific descriptions, the following reference numerals will be given to the rotation shaft member 115 and the rotation shaft engaging hole 135.
- The
male cover 110 comprises a firstrotation shaft member 115 a, a secondrotation shaft member 115 b, a thirdrotation shaft member 115 c and a fourthrotation shaft member 115 d. - The
female cover 130 has features in that theinner cover 131 comprises a first rotationshaft engaging hole 135 a, a second rotationshaft engaging hole 135 b, a third rotationshaft engaging hole 135 c and a fourth rotationshaft engaging hole 135 d. Thefemale cover 130 positioned at the right lower side with respect to themale cover 110 is referred to the firstfemale cover 130 a, and the female cover 30 positioned at the left upper side is referred to the secondfemale cover 130 b. - The protrusions protruded from the right portion with respect to the plane of the
male cove 110, namely, the firstrotation shaft member 115 a and the thirdrotation shaft member 115 c are engaged to the engaging holes formed at the left portion of the firstfemale cover 130 a, namely, the second rotationshaft engaging hole 135 b and the fourth rotationshaft engaging hole 135 d, so themale cover 110 and the firstfemale cover 130 a are engaged and can be rotate in the clockwise direction and the counterclockwise direction. - The protrusion protruded from the left shaft portion of the
male cover 110, namely, the secondrotation shaft member 115 b and the fourthrotation shaft member 115 d are engaged to the engaging holes formed at the right portion of the secondfemale cover 130 b, namely, the first rotationshaft engaging hole 135 a and the third rotationshaft engaging hole 135 c, so themale cover 110 and the secondfemale cover 130 b are engaged and can be rotated in the clockwise direction and the counterclockwise direction. - The user of the
pencil case 100 can engage so that it can rotate along with the anothermale cover 110 by sliding it the firstfemale cover 130 a in the rightward direction and can sequentially engage so that it can rotate along with anothermale cover 110 by sliding the secondfemale cover 130 b in the leftward direction, so the length of thepencil case 100 can be prolonged. - In addition, the
male cover 110 to thefemale cover 130 are partially engaged or disengaged from thepencil case 100 to which are sequentially engaged a plurality of the male covers 110 and a plurality of the female covers 130, so the length of thepencil case 100 can be reduced if it is necessary. - In addition, it is obvious that the whole shape, size and length of the
pencil case 100 can be adjusted by adjusting the widths, depths, lengths and shapes of themale cover 110 or the female covers 130. -
FIG. 8 is a view illustrating a use state illustrating a procedure that a partial block is additionally engaged in thepencil case 100 according to a first embodiment of the present invention. - As shown in
FIG. 8 , the user of thepencil case 100 having the above-mentioned engaging principle can easily disengage the engagement of themale cover 110 and thefemale cover 130 of thepencil case 100 in which a plurality of the male covers 110 and a plurality of the female covers 130 are sequentially engaged (if the male covers 110 or the female covers 130 are made of elastic materials, the engagement can be easily disengaged by pressing inwardly both sides of the male cover 110). - A plurality of the male covers 110 and a plurality of the female covers 130 belonging to the
pencil case 100 comprise the rotation shaft member 115 and the rotation shaft engaging hole 135, so even when parts of the male covers 110 and the female covers 130 belonging to thepencil case 100 are engaged, disengaged or disassembled, the shape and function of thepencil case 100 can be maintained and can be continuously used (provided that, the whole length of thepencil case 100 becomes shorter than before part of the block is disengaged). - On the contrary, the user of the
pencil case 100 can use thepencil case 100 prolonged longer than the previous length with the aid of the engagement by inserting the block formed of a newmale cover 110 and afemale cover 130 into theprevious pencil case 100 after the engagement of themale cover 110 and thefemale cover 130 is disengaged. - As the male covers 110 and the
female cover 130 belonging to thepencil case 100 can be separately manufactured and sold, the user can assemblyvarious pencil cases 100 depending on the user's desire, and it is advantageous for a manufacturer or a seller to provide or sell, in a form of one product, a block formed of a newmale cover 110 and afemale cover 130 on which various logos, patterns and colors are printed after thefinished pencil case 100 is sold. - In addition, the block shape one end or the other end of which is blocked can be separately manufactured and sold like the
lid pad 150 and the sealingpart 170 by hanging the shape, pattern, colors, etc., so it is possible to create a new value of the production. - The above provided descriptions of the present invention are provided for illustrative purposes, and it is obvious that an ordinary person skilled in the art of the present invention can easily modify into another specific form without changing the technical concepts or necessary features of the present invention.
- The above described embodiments of the present invention should be interpreted are provided for the illustrative purposes in all aspects, not limiting any features.
- It should be interpreted that the scopes of the present invention are defined by the following claims rather than the descriptions of the invention, and all the changes or modifications coming from the meaning and scope of the claims and their equivalents should be in the scope of the present invention.
Claims (3)
1. A pencil case formed of body accommodating stationery, a lid part opened and closed by way of a hinge, and a sealing part one end of which is closed, comprising:
a male cover the interior of which is passed through and which is formed of upper and lower outer covers, a rotation shaft member protruded from an inner side of the outer cover, and an outer support plate supporting the outer cover at the left and right ends; and
a female cover the interior of which is passed through and which is formed of upper and lower inner covers each having a rotation shaft engaging hole and an inner support plate supporting the inner covers at the left and right ends, and the body is formed as the female is slide-inserted into the interior of the passed-through male cover, and the rotation shaft ember is engaged to the rotation shaft engaging hole.
2. The pencil case according to claim 1 , wherein the male cover includes two rotation shaft members at the inner sides of the upper outer cover and the lower outer cover, and the female cover includes two rotation shaft engaging holes at the upper inner cover and the lower inner cover, and a first rotation shaft member of the male cover is rotatably engaged to a second rotation shaft engaging hole of the first female cover, and a third rotation shaft member of the male cover is detachably engaged to a fourth rotation shaft engaging hole of the first female cover, and the second rotation shaft member of the male cover is rotatably engaged to the first rotation shaft engaging hole of the second female cover, and a fourth rotation shaft member of the male cover is detachably engaged to the third rotation shaft engaging hole of the second female cover, so the length of the body can be adjusted.
3. The pencil case of either claim 1 or claim 2 , wherein the outer cover is formed in a hexagonal shape, and the inner cover is formed in a hexagonal shape which is slide-accommodated into the passed-through interior of the outer cover, and the male cover and the female cover rotate in the clockwise direction or the counterclockwise direction about the body in a state that they are engaged by way of the rotation shaft member and the rotation shaft engaging hole.
