Abstract
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present disclosure relates to enclosures, more particularly to an enclosure with a mounting member.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- An electronic device usually includes an enclosure body and a mounting panel mounted to the enclosure body. The mounting panel is used for mounting a printed circuit board (PCB). The enclosure body has a plurality of mounting protrusions extending from a bottom panel of the enclosure body. The mounting panel is mounted to the enclosure body via the mounting protrusions. However, another mounting panel may not be mounted to the enclosure body, which has no structure corresponding to the mounting protrusions.
- Many aspects of the embodiments can be better understood with references to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

FIG. 1 is an exploded, isometric view of an enclosure in accordance with an embodiment. -
FIG. 2 is an isometric view of a mounting member ofFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 3 is an assembled view ofFIG. 1 . - The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 , an enclosure in accordance with an embodiment includes anenclosure body 10, amounting panel 20, and amounting member 30. - The
enclosure body 10 includes abottom panel 11 and a side panel perpendicularly extending from thebottom panel 11. The bottom panel defines a polygon-shaped recess portion 111. In one embodiment, therecess portion 111 is hexagon-shaped. A throughhole 112 is defined in the center of therecess portion 111. - A
mounting opening 21 is defined in themounting panel 20. The mounting opening defines awider part 211 and anarrower part 212 connected to thewider part 211. Themounting panel 20 includes aflange 22 surrounding thenarrower part 212. In one embodiment, theflange 22 is U-shaped. - The
mounting member 30 includes amounting protrusion 31 and asecuring element 32. Themounting protrusion 31 includes apositioning portion 311, amounting portion 312 extending from thepositioning portion 311, and astopper portion 313 extending from themounting portion 312. Thepositioning portion 311 is hexagon-shaped corresponding to therecess portion 111 for be prevented from rotating about an axis perpendicular to the bottom panel. A cross section of themounting portion 312 is less than a cross section of thestopper portion 313 taken along a plane parallel to thebottom panel 11. Thestopper portion 313 is column-shaped. Asecuring hole 314 is defined in themounting protrusion 31 corresponding to the throughhole 112. The securinghole 314 defines a plurality of inner screws - The
securing element 32 includes ahead portion 321 and asecuring portion 322 extending from thehead portion 321. A cross section of thehead portion 321 is greater than a cross section of thesecuring portion 322. Thesecuring portion 322 defines a plurality of outer screws corresponding to the inner screws of thesecuring hole 314. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 to 3 , in assembly, thepositioning portion 311 of themounting protrusion 31 is located in therecess portion 111 of thebottom panel 11, at the same time, thesecuring hole 314 of themounting protrusion 31 is aligned with the throughhole 112. Thesecuring portion 322 of thesecuring element 32 is threaded into the securinghole 314 from an outer side of thebottom panel 11, thereby securing themounting member 30 to thebottom panel 11 of theenclosure body 10. Thepositioning portion 311 of themounting protrusion 31 is located in therecess portion 111, and themounting protrusion 31 cannot move relative to thebottom panel 11. - The mounting opening 21 of the
mounting panel 20 is aligned with themounting protrusion 31. Themounting protrusion 31 extends through thewider part 211 of the mounting opening 21, and then it moves to thenarrower part 212 until themounting protrusion 31 contacts theflange 22 of themounting panel 20. At this time, themounting portion 312 is located in thenarrower part 212 of themounting panel 20. Thestopper portion 313 resists theflange 22. - In disassembly, the
mounting panel 20 is moved, in a direction parallel to thebottom panel 11. Thestopper portion 313 of themounting protrusion 31 disengages from theflange 22 and themounting protrusion 31 moves to thewider part 211 from thenarrower part 212. Thereby themounting panel 20 is easily dismounted from theenclosure body 10. - It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages have been set forth in the foregoing description of embodiments, together with details of the structures and functions of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the disclosure to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
