- The present invention relates to a quick and easy operational foldable vehicle shading umbrella in an umbrella shape that can be unfolded to shelter the top portion of vehicle, to prevent direct sunlight and heat from entering into the vehicle, and folded into a convenient carrying unit.
- Parking in an uncovered parking lot is annoying to many people since the vehicle is directly exposed to sunlight during warm weather. The common solutions have been used and provided in current market are tinted window, reflecting panel, and etc.
- The tinted window and reflecting panel work in the similar way by blocking the sunlight directly, reduce the heat entering into the vehicle through window and entire top portion of the vehicle to keep lower temperature inside of the vehicle.
- The common disadvantage of above mentioned methods is that they do not prevent the heat entering through the vehicle body by heat radiation. Drivers always experience the heat flow blow into their faces when open the door of the vehicle after it had been exposed to sunlight for a while.
- The present invention is to provide a quick and easy operational foldable vehicle shading umbrella can be unfolded to umbrella shape awning to shelter against the direct sunlight for the vehicle, and folded into a compact unit for carriage and storage.
- Another objective of the present invention is an awning shelter is supported and stretched out in tension by a group of outwardly unfolded folding arms extended from a central hub. A group of tubular elements attached to the central are corresponding to the number of folding arms, in order to provide connection between the central hub and the folding arms.
- Another objective of the present invention is the extraordinary vertical supporting method. It is different from the traditional ordinary umbrella with vertical center supporting rod, but using the edge of the top portion of vehicle as a supporting point. The folding arms sit on the edge, therefore, it will create a space between the surface of vehicle and the inside surface of the sheltering awning, in order to use the air in the space as insulation to reduce the direct heat from sunlight.

FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view of the foldable vehicle shading umbrella of the present invention. -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the foldable vehicle shading umbrella of the present invention in a folded position. - As shown in
FIG. 1 of the drawings, a foldable vehicle shading umbrella according to the present invention is illustrated, wherein the unfolded position for covering on top body portion of a vehicle to shelter the vehicle against to sunlight to prevent the heat from entering into the vehicle. - As shown in
FIG. 2 , the sectional view shows the detail of the inside of the umbrella. Each folding arm is secured separately onto the awning of the umbrella. Each arm includes one set ofhinge 22, and each arm secured intocentral hub 10 withshaft 221 as shown inFIG. 3 in order to perform folding procedure. - The main working parts of the foldable vehicle shading umbrella of the present invention are shown in
FIG. 3 . TheUV protection awning 40 is placed between thecentral station 13 and the centralhub bottom cover 14. There are six tubularfolding arm holders 21 spread outwardly and radially from the central hub, with an angle of 60 degrees between each other. Eacharm holder 21 has been insertedlong arm rod 31, and it also has extrude parts with a horizontal thru hole on it is used to connect the arm holder onto the central station. A small shaft 211 goes through the hole of the arm holder and the hole on the extrude parts of the central station part, to secure the arm holder and also provide frictionless pivoting as arm holder supporting walls, in order to perform folding procedure. Thecentral station 13 is wider than thetop cover 12, but with the same size asbottom cover 14 is. The way of the design of the widercentral station 13 is to provide a supporting platform to thearm holders 21 to prevent bending over, since during the working—unfolded stage, the tension from the stretching of the fabric and the gravity of the whole umbrella will pull the arms toward to each other. - As shown in
FIG. 3 , the top cover ofcentral hub 12 and bottom cover ofcentral hub 14 will go together and secured by ascrew 11 screws down from the hole ontop cover 122 into the extrude which located at the center of thebottom cover 141. Theextrude 121 on the top cover is designed with two main functions, one is to make the whole center hub to be solid and strong, another function is to fulfill the space between each set of arm holder supporting walls on the central station in order to limit the spacing of the shaft 211′, therefore, the shaft 211′ now is secured inside the central hub and will not fall out. - The one end of the
long arm rod 31 is inserted into thearm holder 21, and the other end is inserted into one end of thehinge 22. Another relativeshort arm rod 32 is inserted into the other end of thehinge 22. The placement of short arm at the very outside, is due to perform the folding procedure. The short arm means it is shorter than the long arm enough to void block its way to be folded. Bothsnap ring 222 andshaft 221 used to complete each hinge set, and provide rotating motion. - As shown in
FIG. 4 , a foldable vehicle shading umbrella is in folded position. Each arm folded toward to center by bending over the hinge set 22 andarm holders 21.
