Thefirst chamber 24 communicates with theinlet pipe 12. When thefaucet 14 is opened, the water will flow through theinlet pipe 12 quickly and bring out the air in thefirst chamber 24, so that theexpandable member 23 shrinks toward thelower lid 22. When thefaucet 14 is closed, the water will be stopped to flow and theexpandable member 23 will restore to its original shape. During the restoration of theexpandable member 23, theexpandable member 23 sucks some of the hot water in theheating container 11. Theheating container 11 forms negative pressure to prevent thefaucet 14 from leakage. - However, the
expandable member 23 is made of resin, such as PU, and theexpandable member 23 sucks the hot water during the restoration. After a long period of time, theexpandable member 23 is aging and chaps easily. The energy savingdevice 20 will malfunction. Because the water which theexpandable member 23 sucks is hot water, the amount of water that theexpandable member 23 sucks is much less than the cold water. Thus, when the energy savingdevice 20 is applied to theheating apparatus 10 which has abig heating container 11, the energy savingdevice 20 cannot provide a better leakproof effect. Accordingly, the inventor of the present invention has devoted himself based on his many years of practical experiences to solve this problem. - The present invention is to provide an energy saving device of a heating apparatus. The energy saving device is mounted on the heating apparatus. The heating apparatus comprises a heating container. The heating container is connected with an inlet pipe and an outlet unit. The energy saving device is connected to the inlet pipe. The energy saving device comprises a base, a cooling plate, an expandable member, and an upper lid. The base has a passage. The passage has a water inlet and a water outlet at two ends thereof. The base has a cooling trough. A hole and a first through hole are formed in an inner wall of the cooling trough. The hole and the first through hole communicate with the passage, respectively. The cooling plate seals the cooling trough of the base. The cooling plate has a second through hole which communicates with the first through hole of the base. The expandable member is made of a soft material. The expandable member has a trough facing and sealing the cooling plate. The upper lid has a balance trough facing and sealing the expandable member. Some of the cold water flows into the cooling trough through the hole. The air in the trough of the expandable member is brought out to form a vacuum. The expandable member shrinks toward the cooling plate. When the outlet unit is closed, the expandable member will restore to its original shape and suck some of hot water in the heating container. The heating container forms negative pressure to prevent the outlet unit from leakage and to achieve an energy saving effect. FIG. 4 is a schematic view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention when in use.FIG. 5 andFIG. 6 are schematic views to show the operation of the preferred embodiment of the present invention. Theenergy saving device 100 is mounted on aheating apparatus 200. Theheating apparatus 200 comprises aheating container 201. Thewater inlet 311 and thewater outlet 312 of theenergy saving device 100 are concatenated to theinlet pipe 202, so that theenergy saving device 100 is connected to theinlet pipe 202. Some of the cold water will flow into thecooling trough 32 through thehole 33, and most of the cold water will flow through thepassage 31. Because the diameter of thepassage 31 is smaller than that of thewater inlet 311, and the diameter of theneck 313 between thepassage 31 and thewater inlet 311 is smaller than that of thepassage 31, the water when passes through thepassage 31 will generate an accelerating effect to form negative pressure to bring out the air in thetrough 51 of theexpandable member 50 when passing over the first throughhole 34. Thetrough 51 forms a vacuum and theexpandable member 50 shrinks toward the coolingplate 40. As shown inFIG. 6 , when theoutlet valve 205 is closed, the water will be stopped to flow and the negative pressure will disappear and theexpandable member 50 will restore to its original shape. During the restoration of theexpandable member 50, theexpandable member 50 sucks some of the hot water in theheating container 201. Theheating container 201 forms negative pressure to prevent theoutlet 206 of theoutlet unit 204 from leakage and to prevent the heat energy in theheating container 201 from disappearing so as to achieve an energy saving effect. In addition, the cold water in thecooling trough 32 is to cool the hot water in thetrough 51 by the coolingplate 40, preventing theexpandable member 50 from aging and chap so as to enhance the service life of theexpandable member 50. Because the principle to expand when hot and to shrink when cold, theexpandable member 50 can suck more water when restoring to its original shape to increase the negative pressure in theheating container 201. The present invention of theenergy saving device 100 can prevent leakage and save energy. -
FIG. 7 andFIG. 8 show another preferred embodiment of the present invention, which is substantially similar to the aforesaid embodiment with the exceptions described hereinafter. The base 30 further has apenetration hole 314 opposite to thecooling plate 40 and communicating with theneck 313. The penetratinghole 314 is connected with a first end of apipe 38. A second end of thepipe 38 is connected to outside. In this embodiment, the second end of thepipe 38 is connected between theoutlet unit 204 and theoutlet pipe 203, so that external air can enter thepipe 38 through theoutlet 206 of theoutlet unit 204. Thepipe 38 is further connected with acheck valve 39. As shown inFIG. 8 , when theoutlet valve 205 of theoutlet unit 204 is opened, the cold water in theinlet pipe 202 will flow through thepassage 31 of the base 30 quickly and generate negative pressure when passing over the first throughhole 34 to inhale the external air into thepipe 38 through theoutlet 206 of theoutlet unit 204 and then into thepassage 31 so as to balance the pressure in thepassage 31, accelerating the shrink of theexpandable member 50. - Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
