Abstract

The present invention relates to a bathroom sink (2) and/or a kitchen sink (3) to be placed on and/or housed in a worktop and having an extra-flat drain integrated in the body thereof. The integrated extra-flat drain is designed and shaped in the body of the bathroom and/or kitchen sink during the manufacture of the same.

Description

  • This invention is a bathroom sink (FIG. 3) (2) and/or a kitchen sink (FIG. 8) (FIG. 10) (3) to be installed on and/or built into a worktop with an extra-flat drain integrated into its body.
  • This integrated extra-flat drain is designed and shaped in the body of the bathroom sink or kitchen sink during its manufacture.
  • In the domain of bathrooms (bathroom sink) and kitchens (kitchen sink), there are generally two types of bathroom sinks or kitchen sinks that can be installed on or built into a worktop. The first is designed to be equipped with classic drains (traps), and the second is designed to be provided with an extra-flat drain (FIG. 1) (12)—example: (under the trade name QUICK DRAIN®). In both cases, the drains are separate from the bathroom sink or kitchen sink, adapted and added during installation, and are not integrated or designed to be all in one piece with the body of the bathroom sink or kitchen sink. The problems of adaptation of a separate drain to a bathroom sink or kitchen sink during installation are, on the one hand, the cost and the working time for adapting the drain, and, on the other hand, a 100% seal between the drain and the bathroom sink/kitchen sink cannot be ensured if the drain has not been designed all in one piece with the bathroom sink/kitchen sink. The advantage of a bathroom sink/kitchen sink with a drain integrated into its body, on the one hand, solves the problem of the seal between the bathroom sink/kitchen sink and its drain because the drain and the trap seal are formed at the same time during manufacture of the bathroom sink/kitchen sink, and, on the other hand, without additional cost for its manufacture or additional cost for purchase of the drain and without additional cost and time for adapting the drain to the bathroom sink/kitchen sink, and thus much more economical to manufacture.
  • This invention relates to a bathroom sink (FIG. 3) (2)/kitchen sink (FIG. 8) (FIG. 10) (3) to be installed or built in, equipped with an extra-flat drain integrated into its body, of which the shape of the drain (FIG. 4) (6) (FIG. 6) (FIG. 7) can be molded or shaped at the same time and directly into the body of the bathroom sink/kitchen sink with the same manufacturing material of the bathroom sink/kitchen sink, and during its manufacture. This innovation allows this bathroom sink/kitchen sink to be equipped with a drain that is integrated into the body to obtain a trap seal that prevents bad odors from rising, and a waste water drain channel (1). This innovation introduced into the bathroom sink/kitchen sink is equipped with shields (9) that make it possible to form the trap seal in the space (8) and, using a part (5), creates the form of a trap. The waste water is drained via the drain channel (1). This innovation likewise makes it possible to maintain a height that is necessary for the trap seal in the space (8), and due to two slopes (7) in the direction of flow of the drain channel (1), the latter make it possible to reduce the accumulation of waste water accessible to the open air, which is not the case in the extra-flat drains sold separately, of the QUICK DRAIN® type (FIG. 1) (12), of which a large volume of water (11) remains stagnant in the drain (FIG. 2) (11).
  • The shape of this drain (6) (FIG. 6) (FIG. 7) can be very easily integrated into a ceramic mold of a bathroom sink/kitchen sink, in a plastic or composite mold of a bathroom sink/kitchen sink, and in a metal mold of a bathroom sink/kitchen sink. And once the bathroom sink/kitchen sink is completed, the impression of the drain shape is integrated into the body of the bathroom sink/kitchen sink.
  • For this reason, we no longer need to procure a drain and adapt it to the bathroom sink/kitchen sink because the bathroom sink/kitchen sink has its own drain equipped with a trap and trap seal to prevent bad odors. Within this bathroom sink/kitchen sink, it is necessary to have slopes (7) (FIG. 6) (FIG. 9) (FIG. 11), on the one hand, to limit the amount of accumulated waste water accessible to the open air (11) in the part of the space (8) that is located between the shields (9) and the height (10), and, on the other hand, to speed up the flow of waste water (11) toward the drain channel (1).
  • In the drain part of this bathroom sink (2)/kitchen sink (3), the part (FIG. 4) (5) comprises a cover (4) that allows access in the trap integrated into the shape (6) (FIG. 6) (FIG. 7), on the one hand, and at the same time, this cover can allow the channel (1) to be completely closed to maintain a reserve of water in the bathroom sink/kitchen sink according to the needs of the user, and the unit can be hidden by a screen (13).
  • Another advantage of integrating an extra-flat drain into the body of a built-in bathroom sink/kitchen sink is that the bulk of the trap that is located in the body of the bathroom sink/kitchen sink saves space under the bathroom sink/kitchen sink; this allows space to be gained for storage space with a pleasing appearance, since the trap is no longer visible.
  • The invention according to its innovation can be applied to the manufacturing mold of the bathroom sink/kitchen sink or shaped directly in its body: for any type of bathroom sink/kitchen sink made of ceramic, plastic, composite, or metal and for different designs and not limited only to square or rectangular bathroom sinks/kitchen sinks.
